Looking forward to your report (even without photos); we are doing this trip in reverse next April. -
Is there a Regent Casinos Players Club?
mrlevin replied to GMIAC's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
No, you get the cash. It is how to get miles for "ATM" withdrawals. I always take lots of cash home. -

Per person, if and only if, you set up an account for each person. -
Carryon only works if you drive to port or pick up liquid toiletries in port city. I also believe that its best, regardless of how large the suites are on Regent, that your wife and mistress are in separate suites.

A Quintessential Crossing on the Mariner - Live!

Mariner is only ship wherein I step in the casino; I use the shortcut stairs from Stars up to Deck 7 through the casino. -
New Regent sailor making birthday dinner reservations
mrlevin replied to the_dylaness's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
We have spent last four of last six anniversaries in Prime 7; just booked the next one last night. Don't worry about what may or may not be on menu in Compass Rose; book your birthday dinner and make sure the Maitre'D knows it is your birthday. -

Brooklyn, Bayonne, Newport, etc? No one could provide customs officials? I will take the over/under; grumpiness has had to hit already. Wait until they find out that casino will be closed next two days, too. And shops. -

Any NYC tours added for Friday and Saturday? -

Since you are "crossing the t" of the hurricane; I am surprised you haven't increased speed to get to vicinity of New York harbor sometime Thursday night. That last day should be a little rocky for you. -

Looks like you are aiming for a Friday morning sunrise arrival into NYC; should be spectacular. -

I really loved your reporting. See you on the Mariner for a wonderful trip to the Amazon! -

Date/time of arrival to New York? Will you be able to go to same dock for multiple days? I calculate that you "could" arrive late Thursday evening and wave forecast indicates that you "want" to arrive no later than Friday morning. -
Overland Tour to Taj Mahal - Pros and Cons Please
mrlevin replied to lprp's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
We did this on Voyager in 2014; not quite as expensive then but well worth it - once. You get to spend only a couple of hours at the Taj; but that is sufficient. Our tour also went to Red Fort; I believe different years are different itineraries. Don't worry about Goa or Mumbai; you will probably end up there again on future cruises. The logistics are very involved with this trip so it was great that everything was covered; never felt uncomfortable except for the pollution in Delhi. Marc -
*Live(ish)* Splendor - “Summer in Scandinavia”
mrlevin replied to lprp's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
The reporting requirement is only for ships in US waters or going to enter US waters; neither of which apply to Splendor; here is the guidance from CDC site: Medical staff on cruise ships under U.S. jurisdiction must send gastrointestinal illness case reports to VSP at specific times: Before arriving to a U.S. port from a foreign port. This report is required even when there are no cases of gastrointestinal illness. Cruise ship staff send this report between 24 and 36 hours before the ship arrives at a U.S. port. When 2% or more of the passengers or crew have gastrointestinal illness. Cruise ship staff send this report any time the ship is in the United States or within 15 days of arriving at a U.S. port. If 3% or more of the passengers or crew have gastrointestinal illness. Regent hasn't reported an outbreak since June 2018. -

I solved that problem on last cruise; I ordered a Popcorn Sundae for appetizer in Prime 7. Pastry chef doesn't come on until 1900 so you can't do it before then. -
I have been told by Delta that I will need to show "proof" of return "trip" from Europe at check in before I leave Austin. I am anticipating just using paid invoice for the Barcelona to Miami booking. What have others shown at checkin? Were there any issues? thanks, Marc

A Quintessential Crossing on the Mariner - Live!

Enjoy the next week; long range forecasts have you and Tropical Storm/Hurricane Lee both arriving in Bermuda on 14 September. 10 September is the peak of the Atlantic tropical season so you were always going to have a good shot of some tropical weather. -
What the Explorer and Splendor gyms need is wheelchair access; or at least access by walker. Only way to access is on Deck 6 and then you have to maneuver through tight doorway and down two steps. Just because someone's legs are not usable does not mean that they don't want to use the gym to work on upper body strength.

I would let HK Mgr know that you expect her to fix it and that there really would be no need to elevate to GM. I have found that getting the direct manager to fix a problem instead of taking everything to GM is better in the long run. Of course, you have posted online so I am sure that Miami willl be contacting GM; I would still try to give the HR Mgr a chance to address before she is asked by GM. -

I would be livid; I would expect the Housekeeping Manager in my suite in 15 minutes. -
There are wonderful sommeliers across the Regent fleet; hopefully, we will sail with Georgianna again and she will have a second chance to make a first impression.

If they wanted to leave from a "secondary" airport their invoice would show $124.50 per person per direction additional charge. Given that IAD is a Regent primary airport it shouldn't show up on this itinerary but I wanted to show how you could "pay" (i.e., invoice) the additional cost before you have flights.

I guess there hasn't been a change; the Member Guide is contradictory. You earn the "tier level" as soon as you board but you don't earn the "nights" until the segment/cruise has completed. Sorry to create a misconception.
