  1. Hi lb, We are on a Princess ship in February doing a similar itinerary and our stop at IoP was pulled several months ago. We have since had the full itinerary moved around but still supposedly going to Noumea, Mystery Island and Lautoka,Suva and Dravuni Island in Fiji. Will just keep our 🤞that nothing else changes. At least no more testing worries!
  2. I contacted Royal in advance to make sure that the complimentary transfer was still happening and got different answers before finally having it confirmed. Went to guest services on embarking Odyssey and they arranged it.
  3. We did that this year. Got off Odyssey in FLL and took the courtesy transfer to Miami for the Grandeur. We had our UDP times all booked by 12. Transfer went to Miami airport first and then Oasis for approx 10 passengers before dropping us two off.
  4. Hi, we were on Seaview last summer in Barcelona. I take it you have looked at post cruise excursions to the surrounding area either through the cruise line, if offered, or one of the travel sites? They can be expensive but all your luggage is stored on the bus until the end of the tour, usually at the airport. We used Bags&go.com who are located at the cruise terminal when you disembark. They will transfer your luggage to the airport allowing you to spend the day in Barcelona. You then collect your luggage from their kiosk in the airport terminal before checking in.
  5. We have a cruise down under in the new year and have been following various threads on this and finally some good news! https://www.nsw.gov.au/media-releases/lifting-of-covid-cruise-ship-protocols I wonder if the bookings will suddenly go up?
  6. We got off the Grand on 29th of July and only got our email folio a couple of days ago. I always get a copy on the last morning from guest services because if you have any refundable credit left over and live outside the US it isn't automatically returned to card and has taken a couple of phone calls to sort out. We also will continue to do so because of the following: We were on Sky in February and I went to guest services after dinner on the last night to get a copy which showed we had just eaten at Crown grill. Eh, no we hadn't! They phoned the Crown Grill who initially tried to say we had eaten there whilst I was listening in. It took about 10 minutes to resolve, but if we had been off the ship before discovering the mistake it would never have been sorted.
  7. Just appeared in the Onboard Activities section of cruise planner. Sailing roundtrip from Ravenna start of October.
  8. Hadn't seen this before, but just how long can you stay onboard after your cruise? Could be saving cost of a day room at hotel/luggage storage before a late flight. Stay Awhile From £38.54 GBP / per adult £30.68 GBP / per child Reserve Overview Not ready to say goodbye? Neither are we. Join the Stay Awhile Program so you can extend the last day of your cruise, remain onboard and continue to enjoy everything the ship has to offer. We'll handle your luggage while you enjoy a late breakfast or lunch at Windjammer Café or relax on the pool deck. The ship is yours. So, relax, kick back, and stay awhile. Program allows each participating guest to remain onboard the ship while it is docked at the disembarkation port until the time that the ship requires all non-sailing guests to disembark the ship.
  9. We enjoyed the Club class dining in the Santa Fe restaurant. I believe it is the only anytime dining on the ship for dinner as all other main dining rooms are traditional dining times unless that has changed since 2019.
  10. Looking forward to your experience! We were on Diamond in 2019 for a round trip cruise from Kobe. My brother in law was living there at the time and we combined a land tour to Kyoto for a few days which was a highlight of our trip. On one of our ports of call we were wakened around 5.30 am by a group of schoolchildren on the quayside singing loudly! Apparently this was the first time Princess had called at this port and the locals went out of their way all day to make it special. We enjoyed that the ship put on lots of cultural events and that so many passengers from around the world had a japanese heritage. It made for a very different cruising experience which we really enjoyed.
  11. We have done Barcelona several times and love the city almost as much as Venice. May I also suggest you look at Athens. Plenty to do and see and the port is only 10/15 minutes from the centre. Lots of direct flights from the UK. Lots of cruise choices to Greek Islands, Turkey and Israel.
  12. Hi Ellie, I don't know if you eventually found the link but I still had it and have been going over your Majestic Princess review as we are doing most of the same itinerary next February. Cheers! David
  13. I phoned last week and got round trip transfer for Explorer cruise in October booked through RC as staying a couple of days either side. Tronchetto bus station to the ship. 9am pick up in Venice. I think there was a slightly later one at 10. Took a bit of time with the agent as he wasn't sure and had to go and check a few times but confirmed and added to invoice. I will phone them again nearer the time to confirm nothing has changed.
  14. We were on the Jade for a B2B in October from Athens. We picked the ship because of the itinerary. The smaller ship has the advantage of getting into more ports and has less people to tender if that is required. We visited a couple of bucket list ports in Istanbul and 2 stops in Israel and got to float on the Dead Sea for a few hours! It was a very port intensive cruise. The ship was in great condition and it was good to try new speciality restaurants. We have sailed R.C, Princess and MSC this year as well and found the Jade to be a good choice with no real issues.
  15. Looking forward to your review, as on at the end of January. Thanks!
  16. Hi Julie, Sorry that your cruise had to end this way. Hope you recover quickly.🤞 I caught it at the end of our Norway and Iceland cruise in the summer, my third time unfortunately, but like you say we just have to live with it. Looking at the positives, you now have more time to experience Sydney and the surrounding area! I know there are plenty of people who will have ideas for you both and I'll throw in a couple we loved when we spent a week there. The Sydney bridge climb is a unique experience, if heights are not an issue, as it was one of our most memorable activities which we hopefully plan on doing again in just over a year. A day trip to the blue mountains and featherdale wildlife park. An excellent day out with amazing scenery and the park has many native animals to get up close to. Hunter valley wineries- no explanation needed!😄
  17. Hi, We have been to Santorini a few times and unless I'm mistaken none of the shore excursions end back at the transportation dock. If you haven't done so already, maybe try emailing Royal on either: shorex@rccl.com or shorexAccess@rccl.com. for a definitive answer.
  18. I'll keep my 🤞 for you! We did 3 cruises from Barcelona in May on different ships and it was so nerve wracking waiting for the test results before each one. Glad to see the Majestic Princess story has reported only mild to no symtoms so far, just a shame that the media love a good cruise ship story when this is obviously occuring in all walks of life and something we now have to live with. Enjoy your flight!😴
  19. We are doing some of these South Pacific ports in 2024 and did N.Z. on the Radiance a while back so looking forward to following along! Thanks David
  20. Going with Princess next summer. Hubbard Glacier is one of our scenic cruising days. I've picked Princess as it might be our only time to Alaska and 6 nights at the 3 different lodges with Glacier Bay on the cruise swung it.
  21. Also boarding on Sunday for a B2B so keeping 🤞.Have a test booked for Saturday but would prefer to have that stress removed from the holiday.
  22. I am hoping this will apply to NCL shortly but Princess have just updated their website with no test now required prior to boarding in Athens if fully vaccinated. A number of people are reporting receiving emails confirming same for the Regal departure from Athens on 8th October.🤞 This is from the Princess website: Voyages Departing from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Greece & Europe* Updated: September 28, 2022 Vaccination Status Definition by Country's Health Authority Pre-Travel Test Type & When to Take Test Before Boarding Age: 5 Years and Up Fully Vaccinated Received primary series of COVID-19 vaccines with final dose at least 14 days before embarkation. Testing not required Not Vaccinated Not fully vaccinated are welcome to cruise. Self-administered Antigen OR medically assisted Antigen or PCR within 3 days
  23. Hi, We are on the Jade in October and also staying for a couple of days beforehand in the same area as your hotel. Did you have to book an appointment with the pharmacy and how long did the results take? Thanks.
