  1. @Sea Dog Greg, so sorry to hear that. I've noticed that you were less "active" lately, and it had me worried. Agree about the frustration of living in pain. All I can offer is my sympathy and positive thoughts crossing the Med and the Pond towards you 😘 @h20skibum Mark, I've used this company and recommended it to various CC friends along the year, all were very appreciative. Don't know about your airport, though, but I'm attaching their link, worth checking with them. Jiffy Jeff https://www.gojiffyjeff.com/services/airport-shuttle-transportation-services/
  2. I wouldn't base my decision on the overnight in Istanbul. It can be cancelled without warning, as it already happened before (The Grand Bazaar being closed on Sundays is another "deterrent" πŸ˜•). Santorini - Equinox being the only "big" ship in port would be a huge draw for me. Malta - We found it to be a very interesting stop. We took a taxi (fixed price at the port) for 2 hours to visit M'dina and back to Valetta (55 Euro). Katakolon -- we used a bus for 10 Euros pp at the port which took us to Olympia for 2-3 hours. It was enough. There is also a very interesting Technology museum 10 mins walk from the port entrance.
  3. Thanks, H. We have "limits" here, like -- health travel insurance -- no more than 55 days at a time abroad. At our age, it is also very expensive. Social security -- stops after 181 days abroad, unless you were officially sent to work by an Israeli employer.
  4. + 1 , another vote for Kauai. For me, it was the highlight of our NCL Pride of America cruise. The ship, OTOH, was meh....
  5. We took a "break" from our grim reality and flew to see the grands in Amsterdam for a week. Our eldest decided at the last moment to join us for the week-end (working anyhow from home Thursdays and Sundays). So he worked from his brother home instead.... We took a late night flight together on Wednesday and DS1 flew back alone Sunday night, just in time to sleep 3 hours and be at the office at 9am on Monday. We "brought" with us a very cold spell of weather, instead of warm... And, of course, a rare event of snow in Amsterdam, where the grands got to "experiment" ice for the first time. Bundled up. DS1 playing football with his nephews. Look!! Snow AND ice...
  6. Emerald Lake is amazing. But, we were there end of July, and it was a very hot year in Alaska. On our way there we stopped several times and what we saw from Canada was a sheer beauty. We were booked with Dyea Dave tours for a very reasonable price, 7 hours tour. I wanted to post you the link, and sadly found out the Dave has passed away and I assume "no more tours". He waited for us at the pier, colorful personality.
  7. Charla, I was eagerly and patiently waiting for your "finale". Thank you, as always, for a riveting review, transporting me, sadly only momentarily, to another "planet".
  8. Thanks, Aussie 🌹 We were pleasantly surprised at how quickly the grands acclimated. We thought that the cold weather, the distance from the family, from friends and in general, from the familiar, would affect them, but it seems that kids are more resilient. My son and DIL enjoy the peace and quality of life very much. Financially, they have greatly decreased in β€œlevel of life”, from two salaries to one salary, and from their apartment without a mortgage, to a rented apartment, to which they must add more than a third of what they receive for the apartment they rented in Israel. Nevertheless, we are very happy that they are not here and do not have to go through the horrors of this never-ending war.
  9. I was a great fan. Actually, the series were called "Starsky & Hutch" [I'm mentioning it just to show that I'm thoroughly reading your posts 😘).
