  1. Hello! Interestingly enough, I brought that same cheap curling iron and it didn’t work for me on the Mardi Gras. So the next time I’m Mardi Gras, I brought a different cheap travel iron and it did work. What did you have the Conair one plugged into? Just the outlet? Or into an adapter? Thanks:)
  2. I have 25 Carnival cruises under my belt. I’ve never had a problem with curling iron on any ship other than the Mardi Gras. Based on other’s experiences, I brought an older model non-ceramic curling iron on my next Mardi Gras cruise and it worked. Hope this helps.
  3. Booked multiple specialty dining reservations on Mardi Gras. Does my fee include gratuity for wait staff?
  4. I agree. The tables for two are smashed together so tightly that you have to turn sideways to move between them. Took away all the ambience for us. Couldn’t relax and enjoy the food when we were worried about bumping elbows with the strangers at the next table!
  5. I sailed with Carnival. They do not offer the catered lunch. Maybe someone that has sailed on Princess can help you with that question.
  6. Hi! We booked a bungalow this past week. I chose bungalow 5. Any questions, please ask! I definitely felt it was worth the money.
  7. Thanks for posting! I really liked the Mardi Gras. After so many Carnival cruises it was nice to be on such a very different ship!
  8. Hi! Any details? Which bungalow did you choose? Any tips? Thanks:)
  9. Just looking for opinions on bungalow rental!
  10. I wonder if they lost money with the Free Play? Especially since some ships were just handing out $25 cash. We liked the free play. Hope it stays.
  11. We were there last week. $11 for an umbrella.
  12. Only time we got tortilla chips from Carnival was the bag we were given with our cabana reservation on Half Moon Cay. I wish they would provide them on board. I love the fresh pico de gallo and the watermelon/jicama salsa from Blue Iguana.
  13. Thought Rudi’s was very good for the price. Food was very good although my fish was over cooked and I only ate about one third of it. That was disappointing. Service was good. Don’t expect to be catered to, but courses arrived with good timing and wine glasses were refilled. I will likely go again if I could choose outdoor seating. Our table for two was uncomfortably close to the two tables next to it. Had to turn sideways and shimmy past people next to us while leaving. Heard every word of the conversations next to us as well. One couple next to us was apparently in the midst of an argument- made it awkward and unpleasant for me. Expect very good food for the price paid. To avoid disappointment, don’t expect phenomenal food or outstanding service. The staffing shortage does extend to the specialty restaurants as well.
  14. If you don’t mind, what did your wife think of the pizza making class?
  15. Tervis Tumblers were the absolute best Plat gifts. I also liked the headphones, chess/checkers set and the Bluetooth speaker. Still use those!
  16. We had the same trumpet player on our Mardi Gras cruise. He was phenomenal! He played with the jazz band a couple nights in the Brass Magnolia and it was great entertainment.
  17. I had issue with my curling iron not working in Mardi Gras cabin. Ugh. Any ladies willing to share the exact curling iron you have that DID work? I saw prior posts about this topic but want to make sure I’m buying/ bringing a make/model that is proven to work! Thank you!
  18. I bring a pump hand soap for the bathroom. Hate using a slimy wet bar of soap.
  19. Last cruise, I saw a guy walk off the ship with a window sized box fan! 😂 So… I am sure a small one would be fine.
  20. Yes. The cost is pretty low. Sea day activities get boring and repetitive after many cruises. I feel like it will be better to spend time doing this than playing BINGO for example. I wish Carnival would expand on the options. Maybe some enrichment activities.
  21. Booked the last remaining cove available on a Mardi Gras sailing. Unfortunately it was a connecting cabin. Concerned about the differences vs a non-connecting. Does the door between cabins cause a loss of space? Does the door cut into the wall? Jut out from the wall? Is noise an issue? In all of my cruises I have avoided adjoining cabins. Just hope I can get info on what to expect. Thank You in advance for any info:)
  22. It seems like something fun to do on a sea day! I’m just wondering about which one to try.
  23. For the pie class, do you make a whole pie? Do you get to take it with you to eat?!
  24. In our case the credits were applied automatically. By the Alchemy bartender for myself and for my daughter, a credit was applied to the brewery tour she had booked.
