Believe Oasis is 5400 passenger capacity.

Oasis class is unlike any other and was designed specifically as such. This class in particular was with new younger families in mind that want a more resort style of cruise experience. The ships are the destination. For those of us who've been around forever it's hard to absorb the concept. Took me a couple of sailings now I enjoy it with the grands, so many more options for them. Food, as always is subjective. My best meal in a cruise ever was actually on Oasis, my worse was a Carnival, go figure. Safe journeys

With any line, new ships sell out ASAP. Huge blocks go to agents as soon as they open. Wanted Celebrity's Edge, hours wait on day 1 to book and still didn't get category we prefer.

Magnesium supplements. Also I strongly recommend stretching am and pm, using stairclimber at gym and calf raises daily.

Because we prefer to actually cruise. Don't always care about pretending the ship is s cross between a summer camp a theme park in Vegas. Depends on what we are in need of from that particular vacation.

Well these Boards have certainly proved one thing, this country is filled with more hateful, self-absorbed, ignorant people than I realized. Luckily, most of the people here greatly outnumber them. My thanks to the good folks on here.

Royal Iver Carnival for us majority of time. Don't believe all in reviews, people more apt to complain than to extoll

To be clear, all the lines support when islands are hit and have for as long as I can remember. Remember RCCL and Carnival years ago going to St. Maarten last time island was hit this bad.

We've been cruising since early 80's and the major lines have always done this since at least then. We're in Hawaii when a fishing ship and freighter crashed, Princess rerouted to help rescue. Look how frequently they hovto help when a passenger his overboard.

Alaska definitely be a quieter vibe than Caribbean on every line we've been in. Again. M class and S class as re as different as Oasis class and Freedom class on Royal. All good, just different.

Our preferences in order: Regent, Azamara, SilverSeas, Oceania, Crystal

May I suggest everyone wait until the lines get back up Thursday instead if flooding them right now on their back-up systems. In past many lines have had info in how to help on their sites. We participated in St. Maarten years ago after hurricane.

For us:

Carnival: better lunch options, better pizza, more poolside games, trivia, etc.

Royal: better ship and interior designs, better MDR menu, better specialty restaurants, better beverage programs, better entertainment, better cabin design, better loyalty program, better customer service.

Toss-up: ship staff, children's programs, pricing(we value price, not raw cost).

Carnival staff trained to be more "outgoing, interactive" while Royal staff more traditionally trained, polite but not intrusive.

We find Carnival more "dated" in cruise style. We also find Carnival to be closer to NCL, COSTA than Royal.

All in all if Carnival was 1 Royal would be a tick up to 2 for us.

And they have changed to other ports. If Miami down but Everglades up they'll move.

Same in St Maarten years ago. believe ports opened about 6-8 weeks out. Damage was brutal but glad ships got in and $ was able to start again

We were on another cruiseline where we were out out running a hurricane for 10 days, never made a port. Asked Captain at dinner last night and he smiled and told us not to worry, that they would be sure they were compensated for the time.
