We boarded yesterday and as the move up minimums we’re so high we thought we’d ask onboard… although the day before the cruise there was over 20 S/S available we were shocked they were asking $1300 US each for the upgrade from a S/V 😱 Although the price was a little lower vs the move up prices it still seemed very high compared to a previous move up on the Apex that had the full retreat etc compared to our current cruise on the Reflection which doesn’t! Not a big deal as we’ve not sailed in a s/v before so we will just enjoy the cabin we have 🍹😎

Just for reference… Currently this is my 3rd cruise with a cpap machine and before all 3 cruises I’ve emails & gotten a quick response saying it would be in the cabin on arrival. However, this is the third time that nothing has shown up… not a problem as a quick message to the cabin attendant or guest relations and it took mins to sort out. I’m not complaining I just wanted to say don’t worry if it’s not there as it’s easy to sort out onboard 👍🏼😊

glad you got a decent cabin automatically 👍🏻 Just for reference to maybe help others you can definitely change cabin location as long as it’s within the same category that you have been assigned and obviously only after you have been given the new cabin… we did exactly this on a B2B last September on the Apex and previous cruises as well.

We did this last September and although the ship was only at around 20% capacity we got the last sky suite available for what they said was a fixed price upgrade of $800pp for the cruise. Standard varanda - S1 suite on Apex!

I think we made an enquiry at one point but it just didn’t work out this time, I’m sure we will bump into on the cruise though 🍸😎

Not oil but I like to bring back some porcini mushrooms from Italy 😋 love a wild mushroom risotto.

Great to see a live from blog on this cruise as we will be on it with you and I’ve been thinking about doing one but now you have it started I think I’ll just enjoy yours & totally relax on the cruise, I’ve done a few previous so I think I’ll take a cruise off this time 😊 like you we got a great deal from covid cancellations etc, our SV cost around 4300 Canadian with the 3 perks, 2 extra nights & some obc so very happy with it, enjoy Rome, we are in Croatia currently & loving it, swimming everyday in the crystal clear water enjoying the surrounding areas, hopefully we will catch up onboard 🍹😎

We were on the eclipse Dec 2013 xmas/nye cruise and it was a lot of fun, lots of decorating all over the ship and lots of holiday theme stuff going on all over the ship 😊

This is fine if money isn’t a consideration but most people want to get a move up without paying full price… I want a sky suite on my September 16th cruise but to book it full price will cost 16k extra on top of the 4K I paid for the sv cabin I already have… no cabin is worth that unless as I mentioned money isn’t a consideration…

Every bid someone makes it pending from the min it’s made until it’s accepted/denied or cancelled. As to when it gets looked at this can happen at any point.. I’ve had bids accepted 3 weeks out or 2 days before cruising 🤷🏼‍♂️

I wonder the same… never mind we’ll save the money for other thing 💰😎

We were onboard the Apex last September and the included wifi was terrible, I did upgrade mid cruise and that was better but didn’t seem as good as previous cruises on the s/class ships 🤷🏼‍♂️ But for emails the upgraded option did work ok!

Cool, we are onboard in September so we’ll look forward to enjoying the space for the last time I guess.

Oh don’t worry I’m most definitely steerage class… 😂 tried the suite life last year and although there we’re aspects we enjoyed over all its definitely not worth the price they charge… for us anyway!

Yes I’m sure it will, we were onboard the Apex last September with a similar amount on and although at first we though it was great it did have a negative effect on the atmosphere onboard, for us anyway… so kind of looking forward to being on a busier sailing.

Yes we’ve always enjoyed the space, great to be able to still use it as to be honest until recently I just assumed it was no longer going to be available 👍🏼😊

Hi All, we are due to board the reflection on the 16th September and hadn’t realised before that the Reflection hasn’t had the suite/retreat stuff upgraded yet… does this mean the solstice deck at the top of the ship is still open to the steerage class passengers or is it now reserved for the suite class gang?

I really don’t know how they work these prices out… I called back today after an earlier pointless call and got an even cheaper price 🤷🏼‍♂️ 🍸😊

You will be fine to do it the Saturday before you leave as it’s 2 days before the cruise not 48hrs, equally you will find a lot of pharmacy’s in Rome to do it without appointments should you choose that option.

Love both of these 😋 you got me wanting a nice roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, and obviously followed by an apple crumble & custard 🐷😂
