  1. So a disappointing scone put you off afternoon tea on a Cunard ship? We rarely eat afternoon tea as we find the designated three three meals a day more than too much for our waistlines, but we do like a cup of tea in the afternoon [with a chocolate Brownie if available]. If we did eat a little something it would never be a scone and def. wouldn't want any cream, clotted or not.
  2. Under usual circs. I'd agree with you but this has been going on too long for it to be 'usual'. If cc'ing her TA/TA company into an email to Cunard might just wake up someone up, surely that's a good thing?
  3. and try this one customerservices@carnivalukgroup.com I have a named individual who was reasonably helpful for us years ago and I think she's still in customer services but don't feel comfortable naming her here so I have removed it. I could send it via email to Hattie and maybe she can send it on to you?
  4. Try sending again, but individually
  5. True but if solo, then the card would be with passenger and if with friends or cabin partner, one of them will hopefully have a card. Asking for cabin numbers would help but in reality, all moot if deck crew don't have the nerve/remit to ask.
  6. as I said in #195 but I like your polite way of saying 'what the hell is happening'!
  7. Nor do I! Still, it will slightly appease those who want 'security'. I'm sure there will be 'uproar' at the thought of 'having' to remember a code. Can't please all the people all the time! Still think the best method short of keycard entry would be to reintroduce a Grills logo on the cruise card but then that relies on crew asking to see cards and then actioning any non logos, plus a crew member ready to turf out any non logos. Will that happen? Only if there is another 'Joy'!
  8. and being slightly mean but very tongue in cheek, I think the code will have to be displayed in large letter format on the actual gate so that those who can't recall yet another code in life, will know/remember what it is! 🙃
  9. and what am I bid for the four digit code access...😄 If this is the way to go, let's hope it changes for every cruise or will '1234/1066' remain for eternity
  10. OK add more addresses in order to hopefully get a response...the TA and the company itself. As no one knows where the glitch occurred I'm sure Nm hehappysailing will not 'cast aspersion'. She just want some action.
  11. I would pick Nina Cass for primary email and then cc the email to the rest of the addresses SoCalTraveler has kindly provided. Bullet point each stage of your odyssey. It will be easier to read
  12. Well forgive me if I overstep the mark here but if the first photo in foodsvcmgr's post is an indication on level of ladies' dress, I think modern day attire beats it hands down!
  13. You are right about the spa bookings. I missed that as I don't use the spa. As you say drink and excursions can be booked 12 mths in advance. I won't be bothering with the drinks and will see how we feel abut excursions nearer the time. Luckily, none of them will be limited number so can book whenever, if ever. Still seems a different scenario to the availability on My Cunard Australia and not really a level playing field if limited numbers for any excursions are involved such as sight seeing flights and the Fabergé museum in St Petersburg...not that sadly it will be an issue any time soon for folk.
  14. The only thing I can't book for next April is alternative dining and that is understandable if the option hasn't been decided. Everything else, is bookable on My Cunard. Same for other bookings later in the year. Edit '26 cruises have 'coming soon' when looking to book spa/excursions/alternative dining etc.
  15. Don't be too sure the glitch is at Cunard's end. Our deposit is paid, obviously but I can access all bookings for drinks, spa, excursions etc on My Cunard for an April cruise next year.
  16. We had a similar issue so I checked every time to make sure it snapped shut. Didn't think anything about it but three of us had the same issue so maybe time to report it.
  17. Interesting QA observation. I too always checked the door was fully shut after luckily seeing it hadn't snapped shut on one occasion.
  18. Thank you BigMac1953 I have no idea of QM2, but years ago, the Q2s on QV and QE used to have a cabin specific iPad as part of the cabin amenities and yes, as you indicated, they were definitely iPads. As to size Covepointcruiser, as an iPad mini user, size is relative although the big iPad was great for reading downloaded newspapers every day.
  19. Annie and Victoria are both so different from one another and although I'm a QV devotee [I might have mentioned that occasionally] I won't compare the two. Annie is filling the gap quite nicely for us until Victoria returns home for, hopefully, the '27 summer season. 🙂
  20. Royal Naval Dockyard with a water shuttle over to Hamilton. Wonderful dock as the last time we were there, The Americas Cup was based at the Dockyard and QV gave us a marvellous viewing platform to watch Oracle and Emirates coming out 'to play'!
  21. They were big and cumbersome. No way would any find their way into my suitcase! 😄
  22. Hmm. A restaurant recommendation which didn't hit the mark, maybe a polite response in order not to offend. Potentially thousands of pounds on a cruise where the agent 'didn't hit the mark'? Don't think 'politeness' would come into it. Certainly wouldn't with me. Cruisin'allovertheworld, it's such a shame you are so sceptical. One day you too might come across a cruise angel, otherwise known as a Cruise Travel Agent. Until then, remain sceptical and we who have discovered our cruise agent, will continue to be really pleased with the fact we have someone 'there' for us. ps our agent does not work for any large organisation. pps There are deals out there, sure but then there are agents who might not 'do' deals as such but are 'there' for their clients. You pays your money and you takes your chances. 🙂
  23. We used it at the end of a couple of world cruise segments for a couple of years. Book the bags in online with all the required details [the company will know which cruise terminal the ship will be using from your details], disembark, collect luggage from the luggage hall, walk through to the exit and there will be a person with a sign by the side of their large van with signage, waiting to take the bags off you. The bag/s will be delivered a day or two later to the address given. It really is that simple.
