  1. Pays to complain! Just being a smarta#@. Good for you to do that….Regent cruises are expensive enough and one should expect a seamless vacation. Beginning to end.
  2. That is exactly what happened on our Splendor cruise in March. We were instructed to leave luggage outside assigned hotel room by 8 embarkation morning and they were delivered to our suite without us having to handle them. Very smooth process. Regent will give instructions to follow and you just have to show up onboard and luggage should be in your suite. Just make sure to fill in supplied tags for your suite.
  3. For our March Splendor cruise, the assigned hotel in Miami was the AKA Brickell. The buffet breakfast provided in a ball room was very underwhelming. Had we known, we would have gladly paid in the restaurant ourselves.
  4. Most of us make mistakes. I’m sure i will join that group at some point…..😇
  5. ‘Free Airfare” is a misnomer. You pay for that with your cruise fares. If you choose to book your own flights, you are subject to a reimbursement on your air travel. Like virtually all cruise lines, the word “free” is very loosely thrown out there.
  6. This gentleman is a Canadian cruise travel agent and just posted this on his You Tube channel.
  7. Time flies….our cruise on Muse was indeed in 2017.
  8. I did post my review of our Med cruise on Muse on the SS board detailing experience with dress code as well as more misses than hits with dining venues, almost immediately after our cruise was over. I don’t feel any attacks here…_we all have our likes, dislikes and opinions and I respect others have differing viewpoints than mine.
  9. Unfortunately, it was not posted 4 years or so ago as we always read requirements beforehand. Regardless, staff were just rude on that cruise. An anomaly……perhaps but it strayed with us to the point of never wanting to sail with Silversea again.
  10. It should have been announced prior to booking, paying and sailing. Then, one can make his/her choice as to how formal they want their cruise to be, or not to be.
  11. Our last Silversea cruise (Muse) was when the ship was basically new and sailed from Venice to Barcelona. Every dining venue save for the deck required men to wear jackets, and was very much enforced, even though it was never announced beforehand. One of the first nights on board, I ventured into the main dining room without a jacket, and was promptly (and fairly rudely) told I could not enter until I put one on. I did and went back, was seated, and did as most men at the restaurant did that evening, removed my jacket and put it on the back of my chair. Where is the sense in that? We found Silversea too formal and “stuffy” and agreed we would never sail with them again. We did our third Regent sailing March this year and are now committed to the Brand.
  12. Rachel.....it was good that you flew in on a Sunday, thereby missing the traffic and construction from airport to hotel. Enjoy your time in Montreal and hopefully you will get a break in the weather.
  13. McCord Museum could be good with the rain. Also Pointe-a-Calliere Museum. Think you might enjoy the BioDome and find it interesting…..Part of Space of Life. Could easily take the Metro there. Guess we used up all the good weather whilst there a month ago.
  14. If you are looking to input cruise info/address, just type under “hotel” your ship’s name and you should be good to go.
  15. When I was randomly selected a month or so ago on a short visit to Montreal, we got my results back within 24 hours. But because we were already out of the airport and arrived at our hotel by the time I was notified I was one of the "lucky chosen few" we had to go back to the airport the next day for the PCR test. Construction and traffic were brutal.
  16. My Bride just made another suggestion if you want to get away from the downtown core and do some walking…..Ile St. Helene (St. Helen’s Island). From your hotel by Uber….a short drive and nice to visit. Very nice casino there as well.
  17. Absolutely agree......especially when one considers the "free" booze onboard....
  18. Arrive CAN is a mess and so many people and politicians in Canada are trying to get it tossed. You will get a sense of the traffic and construction issues on your way from the airport to the Vogue. Keep phones handy and on when you get to the airport in Montreal to see if you have been randomly selected for a PCR test. If so, you don't want to have to go back to the airport the next day......you are supposed to be notified within 15 minutes of landing. My notification was beyond the 15 minutes so had to do the traffic/construction "fun" my next day again. Definitely look into the construction issues on the island and bridges taking you off island (Montreal)....they can make your head spin. Walking around Old Montreal is very much like being in Europe. Personally, I have zero tolerance for bad traffic, especially caused by the never ending construction in Montreal.
  19. Rachel....ArriveCAN has been a real issue for lots of people. Friends from here flew up to Toronto for a river cruise out of there, ending in Portland, Maine and they were really having problems like you mention. My Bride went over to their house to help them out and they just input the name of their ship under "Hotel" and had no problems. Two very good choices for dinner and would suggest you go to Old Montreal early before Brasserie 701 and walk around there....a beautiful area full of amazing history and architecture. There is so much construction and traffic around Montreal that getting off the island to do a hike may be problematic. If you had more time I would have suggested a drive to St. Sauveur but with construction, etc. I would not recommend it for the time you have. A terrific "hike" would be on Mont Royal and around Beaver Lake there. Very serene and beautiful walking area. If you were to do that, I would suggest not renting a car and simply taking Uber there and back from your hotel.....a short distance and you could ask the driver to take you around McGill University, which is on the way. Ubers are friendly and plentiful in Montreal, and virtually all the drivers also speak English.
  20. Nor on our March Splendor cruise, which really put a damper on our Pacific Rim experience. Even lacking Sake……the food was mediocre at best.
  21. Look at my post above for my assessment of the AKA.
  22. Meant to also ask if you have any dining reservations in Montreal..??
