  1. @sunchaser49 I stand corrected. The dining podium is on deck two. The boss said I was wrong. Sorry for the bad info. The Dutch Cafe is across from the front desk.
  2. On the Nieuw Statendam, the dining podium is across the atrium from guest services. We make it our first stop to secure our PG lunch reservations. You'll have 2 sea days which you can reserve if you are on a 7 day sailing.
  3. Does NCL allow you to pay the difference if a drink is over limit, or do you still pay the whole amount? We were on the Escape in 2018, I could have any bourbon I wanted as long as it was Bulliet. Any other brand and it was full cost.
  4. I suppose I should have asked the OP for a list of what he'd be looking for. Maker's Mark is my go to because I have a slight reaction to a mash bill that's heavy in rye. (I get flushed in the face. No idea why. Maker's mash bill is wheat. I'm assuming that since we're talking bourbon, y'all know what I am talking about.) Maker's and Maker's 46 were readily available. We had the Elite Beverage Package. I was not inventorying as we sipped and strolled, but I had both Maker's, Old Forrester, Basil Hayden, Angel's Envy & Four Roses. I know they had Bulliet regular and rye, Jim Beam and Jim Beam Black. There were others, but I wasn't really paying attention. However, I now have a new research project for later in the Spring. If you see someone doing a "Live From" your ship, ask them to look for you.
  5. In December, we were scheduled to do an Eastern Caribbean itinerary of Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Thomas and Half Moon Cay. Due to weather, we missed HMC. Our only immigration was the return to Fort Lauderdale. And the Customs & immigration is crazy fast in Fort Lauderdale now. From what I hear, Miami is fast as well.
  6. There is usually a decent selection of bourbons, but you may want to walk around to see what's where. Off the top of my head, I'd look at the Ocean Bar and the Pinnacle Bar to start. They no longer have a paper list of everything available, which annoys me. You can either ask a bartender to consult the POS system for the list, or you can stare at the back bar and try to see what they have.
  7. The daily rentals are quite limited. Assuming the cabanas are not sold out, you'll want to act early.
  8. Yes. Just remember that AARP is per room and not per person.
  9. Probably a translation issue. You'd need a cracker and some red wine. Unless you're playing cat & mouse - and the lady is a mouse. This technique works great then.
  10. Those are all licensing deals. The Lincoln Center performers and the Billboard pianists came from the same talent agency. I think the BB King people were sourced differently, but I could be wrong. Quite honestly, I could care less about the branding. (Unless you call it HAL Cats, HAL Cats Classical, and HAL Cats: Bangin' the 88s.)
  11. Prepaid internet access did not show up on the attendance last month, so you are clear there. You would see the add on for extra devices if you add that, since it can only be added on board. I would prepay crew appreciation. I would do it before February 1 when it goes up.
  12. We were on the Nieuw Statendam last month. They removed the stairwell and closed the "hole" during drydock. There is extra space in the casino as a result. There was no smoke smell in Billboard or Rolling Stone areas. I noticed that the deck plan was updated earlier this month to reflect the change.
  13. There's a link on the HAL website. Follow it for the verification process. https://www.hollandamerica.com/en/us/cruise-deals/community-appreciation-cruise-offers
  14. Very excited for this sailing. It's a 9 day Southern that matches our upcoming cruise. We get to follow along with the menus in the Navigator app. Hoping to see wiener schnitzel!
  15. Hallelujah! Our 12/10 - 12/17/2023 Nieuw Statendam cruise credits just posted.
  16. How the heck can you quote banned text verbatim? Also, I bet that John, who sent you is super happy.
  17. In most cases, you can upgrade for about $11.80 pp/day It depends on what you paid to start.
  18. You should be able to. At the risk of seeming pushy, might I suggest a subject line of "Can I Upgrade After Final Payment?" or something like that. I was afraid you fell down the stairs.
  19. Random question. If you are on one of our bucket list cruises to Fiji and the islands of the South Pacific, do you need local currency? If so, can you get it to on the ship or do you need to go to AAA or a US bank?
  20. That is correct. I wouldn't be upset about that, but I am interested to hear what people on the ship.
  21. We always look at what's above and below us when selecting a room. There are plenty of cabins on deck 1 that are below quiet areas. Just grab the PDF deck plan and look at what's on 2 above you.
  22. We canceled a HIA shore excursion that was part HIA credit and part credit card payment. The HIA part came back right away. The paid part was back later in the day.
  23. Your PCC takes the hit for both the sale and the revenue. In the case of your booking, it's probably a big hit.
