  1. Same for me. Good point. You've made me feel better now.
  2. This was from the Pacific Adventure two weeks ago.
  3. We were on the next cruise after the fire and on boarding day one of our room stewards gave us a safety lecture and tour of the cabin and reminded us that smoking was not allowed in the cabin or on the balcony. Good to hear that they were reminding and warning people about smoking in rooms and on their balcony before the fire.
  4. I just read the inclusions in the Princess Premier for my cruise Honolulu to Sydney and I can still upgrade to it for my October cruise. If you haven't sailed yet see if there is a banner up the top of your payment page trying to get you to add it on. The list of inclusions does not include the daily tips for me for this cruise.
  5. I don't know where it is in writing on the Princess site but it goes that cruises leaving and then returning to Australia, this includes round trip cruises out of Australia and all segments of the world cruise on the Coral/Crown have the tips built into the fare if you book them in Australia. For relocation cruises to Asia from Australia and vice versa the tips are built into the fare But for relocation cruises to Australia from the USA and vice versa tips are not included in the fare and you will have on your payment page of your booking a crew appreciation pre-payment option. Any overseas Princess cruise such as an Alaskan one even booked in Australia does not include tips and these will be added to your daily account if not prepaid.
  6. We docked in December in Eden on the Westerdam and it was great getting on and off the ship. In March on the Majestic there was tendering and while it was OK getting off the ship I waited in line for 40 minutes to get back on the tenders from about 11:45am. We were told to try to avoid 2pm-3:30pm, I did but maybe a lot of other people did as well. I was going back to the ship for lunch as the small town was extremely busy at the food and drink outlets with such a large ship in town. I loved the port of Eden but would prefer a smaller ship and docking to go there.
  7. I'm on the same cruise and in the pre-cruise email from a couple of days ago it clearly stated that you had to have the covid insurance and it would be checked at the terminal. Well, we'll see on Tuesday if they do check it.
  8. Well I can pretty well guarantee that we didn't have our upgrade bid accepted. Best of luck to everyone else.
  9. At 2 and a half minutes into the video the pre-covid test is discussed. He said there are rumours of it being under review next month. Hopeful the government will get rid of it then.
  10. To this years WC's have a wonderful journey and may you return having had exciting experiences, hopefully a few news ports for everyone, a couple of trivia wins 😁 and some fantastic tours and on most nights great entertainment however you prefer to spend your nights. We back home in the cold of winter will be thinking of you enjoying warmer climates and trying to follow what's happening on the ship as much as we can. Drop in now and then when you have time and let us know how it is all going. We'll love to hear from you.
  11. I hope it includes airfares and any hotel stays if needed. Way too expensive for me but it does sound great for those who can afford it.
  12. I remember the good old days of two different shows a night and the cross over of the crowds. It did get a bit tight with all the passengers as they passed each other in the bottleneck of the photo gallery but that was part of the fun. Sometimes we would go out on the promenade deck for the express route. I also remember the three theatre shows a night and the first one was still the busiest and you had to get there 40 minutes before for a half hour show. One of the dancers told me they hated the three shows a night as by the last show they were putting on damp costumes.
  13. This is our go to hotel for Sydney airport, we find it very convenient as it is really just across the road from the terminal. The rooms are great with comfortable beds and it has terrific meals.
  14. Sorry, but the low bid had to added onto the starting bid of $500 or whatever it was for the category. What I meant to say was I only bid a small amount on the sliding scale. It was rated as a poor bid. So what I did was bid say $38 dollars which was then added onto the starting bid times two of course. It all adds up so that is why I won't be disappointed if I"m not successful. We already have a room that we are happy with. If we had been allocated a room that we weren't so happy with I would have been willing to put in a stronger bid.
  15. Adrian said that the cap on children has been lifted immediately so I'm assuming that it is across all age groups. He also said that P&O had a new show called "One" on Encounter and Adventure but this may be for the newly released cruises in 24/25, he didn't say when it would be debuting. This was mentioned to take place for sailings on or after the 1st of July 23. Lucky people who booked these non Byron mini suites before the change was announced. The new ones are in a mid ship position so handy to the lifts for them to go down to their Byron breakfast in Angelo's. 😄
  16. I saw online in a weekly cruise vlog by an Australian travel guy that the cap on children aboard for each sailing will be lifted but more places in the kids club will not be made available.
  17. A pity for her partner as it's great to be on the promenade deck and watch and listen to the ocean go by especially the wake view. On the plus side there will still be lots of activities inside and on the pool deck to entertain them. Still beats being at home.
  18. We sail out to the Islands at the end of May from Sydney. I'm glad to hear we won't be in competition with you SuitesRbest for a penthouse suite! 😄 I'll let you both know how my low bids goes. In March on Princess I bid only $125 over the starting bid for an upgrade and I was successful even though the bidding needle was showing it as a weak bid.
  19. There was a new video on youtube posted a few days ago for the grand suite on the Pacific Adventure. The cabin looked really lovely and really big! The only thing I thought could be improved was some padding on the balcony furniture. It is the top suite after all.
  20. I put in a bid yesterday on a penthouse and the grand suite. They were very low bids but you never know. We are happy with the cabin we have now so I was not too interesting in paying too much money to upgrade from a mini. We cruise at the end of May so I will come back and report if we get an upgrade. Our cruise is now listed as sold out so I don't think too many cabins would be available to upgrade to. Best of luck SuitesRbest for your bid.
  21. We thought that the location of the cafe was a bit strange and it looked too small on the plan but when we got on the ship we loved the cafe being away from the atrium and we could more easily find an empty seat there perhaps because there was no entertainment there unlike other international cafes on Princess. Love that full wrap around promenade as well.
  22. For me part of it is the layout. Most of the features of a Grand class ship with the passengers numbers of a Sun class I love the library on the Coral. It's spacious with full length windows and comfortable armchairs with footrests.
  23. I received my first P&O upgrade me email this morning for a cruise at the end of May. I recently put in one for a Princess cruise and the needle indicated it was a weak bid and I ended up getting the upgrade, so you never know.
