  1. We have been on 11 Carnival cruises and 6 RCI cruises If you blindfolded me I wouldn't know the difference when it comes to food as entertainment that's a toss up as well , depending on the ship you could have an ice show , big plus for RCI. Now if your ship has a Royal Promenade BIG thumbs up to that , Carnival has nothing that compares IMHO. The rest one side will say one is better the other side will tell they are better , we are like you go where the wind takes us or price or itinerary.

  2. We did it in 2013 with 2 other couples and had a blast . Not sure what else you could book for that price have open bar and a buffet lunch , pool and wonderful beach with NO crowd. But that is just us , get me away from the all of the regular stuff and crowds and no way do I book the cattle calls the ships offer. Going back in 2015 and 16 will do it again .

  3. Well, I just stepped off the lovely Carnival Breeze :( this past Saturday which was absolutely wonderful in every way, and now I have the "cruise blues" again. A couple of months ago, I booked AOS for next May of 2015 for the Aruba route and have once again something great to look forward to and to help alleviate the "cruise blues" symptoms. :)

I'd like to hear from anyone who has sailed on AOS and what you thought, what you liked/disliked and what you'd like to recommend. DH and I are early 50's. DH is disabled and uses a mobility scooter on the ship. We are booked in an accessible room overlooking promenade.

Also, how does your time dining work and what are some other good dining options I should check out. Are there options that are without the extra fee?

Would like to hear as much about this ship as possible and be pointed to some great pictures as well.

I look forward to returning to Royal (enjoyed my cruise on the Radiance back in 2005).

    Thanks!

We are Platinum on Carnival and also on RCI and got most of our points on the AOS have sailed her 3 times and have her booked in 15 and 16 . Likes everything dislikes making us get off LOL. Our favorite thing is booking early and getting one of the coveted corner aft cabins that have wonderful balconies . The Royal Promenade is our favorite place to people watch , and the itinerary is so great. The Ice shows are so much fun . Did I mention we love this ship. :D:p

  4. Well your not giving any indication as to where or when or if your are willing to fly so it really limits my opinion . But I have sailed Carnival 11 times I have RCI booked for the 6th time biggest difference for ne is the ship itself. Everything to us is a wash. Oh you will here service food shows is all better on one or the other but we love the Voyager class and the Royal Promenade is such a plus and ships out of San Juan which would be the AOS do southern Caribbean cruise price is great ship is Wonderful and ports of call are the best. But if your not flying Then I would suggest a Voyager class or a Freedom class , the Independence of the Seas has some great prices out of FLL.

  5. Since our last cruise I see they have added this new beer package which look great for me . I have searched here and on the RCI page and If I read their page right one person can purchase it . Is that correct???? Our last cruise on the AOS both parties had to buy the drink package. My wife will buy a soda package but she is not an alcohol drinker.

  6. They take all the leftover meatloaf, blend it to a fine texture, add some gelatin and make diet pumpkin pie.

That's hilarious , my wife had the pumpkin pie a few cruises back it was EWWW and I tried the meatloaf last cruise took one bite looked at her said I have no idea what this is but its NOT meatloaf .

  7. Still thinkin' about the fake oxygen tank or fake coloscopy bag...:eek:Sorry, can't spell colo whatever..

Well I can spell it is Colostomy and I have to wear as I had stage 4 colon cancer , don't really find people wearing stuff like this or belly stuff to smuggle alcohol onboard all that hilarious . I already have to get almost stripped searched at airports now its looks like It will have to go through it at cruise ports . Not looking for any sympathy. Just some consideration . Hey I stick Plastic Bottles of alcohol in My cargo shorts , but figure another way of getting your alcohol onboard then this method.

  8. Ship Name: Adventure Of The Seas

Departure Port: San Juan, Puerto Rico

Ports of Call: San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands; Basseterre, St. Kitts; Bridgetown, Barbados; Roseau, Dominica; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; San Juan, Puerto

AOS hands down Love that ship and Love Barbados a do not miss is Calabaza Catamaran excursions will be or 4th time on the AOS in 15 and 3rd time to do Sail Calabaza.:D:D

  9. I am laughing at people saying the cruise lines owe. What do they owe???? We got stranded at LaGuardia last 4th of July Delta was like Oh Sorry there is Baggage Claim to sleep in . Not our fault . Weather caused the plane not to get here. If They would have hit the freighter Maybe . But they are just sitting there. It sucks , and I would be pissssssed if it was my vacation time . But Carnival and RCI owe nothing except adjusting rates to incoming passengers for time missed on the upcoming cruise.

  10. How far from the cruiseship dock?

I did a map from the Sheraton OSJ it says its a half mile walk from there 10 minutes so that would make it 15 from the ship at most. Pretty easy walk if u go by the CVS it likes straight behind it from what I see.

  11. We have cruised out San Juan 5 times if you think this may your one and only there is two ways to go. Come in at least for 2 nights Book Condado area beach hotel and enjoy the beach area . Catch a taxi or the bus or the shuttle and go down and explore OSJ its a must. Or spend the a few extra bucks and book the Sheraton OSJ a bit pricey but well worth it IMHO have stayed there 3 times. You can walk anywhere walk to the ship on embarkation day is the priceless . To get up walk out of your hotel go across the street and you are there. OSJ has so much to offer for a day and half 2 forts all of the sites. Great places to eat. Love cruising from here. Have fun.

Flights home can be a bit challenging as mentioned but don't worry just allow some time or stay a day a fly home on Monday.
