  1. With the advice and great reviews from Frito58 we contacted Gina and she got back to me right away and answered all my questions, we went ahead and booked this excursion, I’m very excited and really looking forward to it. I think most of the 12 people will be from our roll call! ;)

And she will give you a discount for kids under 12!

Yea Gina Just Facebooked me our April 2013 is up to 11 people guess she may have to take an extra this timeall on our roll call.

  2. I went on 2 cruises last year without my spouse and had ZERO GUILT. As a matter of fact, I had more fun on both of those cruises than I ever had on cruises that I went on with him.

hmmmm....that could be (1 reason) why we're no longer married ....

I just about spit coffee all over my computer , I was reading along and was like oh well too each his own whatever works , then I read your last line . :)

  3. We have never vacationed apart in 30 years , a cruise has always seemed like such a couples thing to me. But saying that we have cruised with friends / sisters that leave the husbands at home and cruise with us, of course one of them just got divorced

  4. Well the others may be a couple of bucks cheaper but Gina is a one of kind . Heck she is on FB almost daily if you want to friend her and I chat with her stay in touch and have rebooked for April 2013. In 12 cruises I have never taken an excursion as good as this one. I am not a party animal although i had my fair share of rum punch , she did twist my arm:p:D:D but I am older guy with some health problems and never even got off the boat and loved every minute of this. She was $110 and worth every penny and I left a nice tip as well . :)

  5. Will trade him for Wally B any day. Not on the list anymore and hopefully Carnival has realized how good he is at emptying the piano bar.

Most of the other entertainers are head and shoulders above him.

Well there was never more than 6 people in the bar the whole week of our cruise ,cant figure why they dont get some good talent what a money maker drink wise when they have a good one in there.

  6. I don't want to be mean but could someone tell me how the guy on the Victory keeps his job:confused: without a doubt one of the worst i have ever heard. We only stood outside for a few minutes but man this guy has no voice just a gravely sound coming out , and it wasnt a bad night or cruise I did a search and never have read a good thing on him. We so enjoy the piano bar was so dissapointed in this on our previous cruise.

  7. Alright, I have my anti flame suit on so I'm going to give a different point of view.

We were on Miracle this last week and did Cosol tour and HATED it!!! The water, soda and for those who drank rum punch and beers were plentiful, I didn't drink but might have enjoyed the tour except for a few things.

The first place we stopped was for bananas, people were giving out sugar cane and other things, if you took anything they wanted tipped, so ok we tipped no biggie, but then............. our first of VERY LIMITED bathroom stops, charged a dollar to use the rest room. So many people with their hands out this tour, we felt nickled and dimed to death.

The island is beautiful but the tour is by bus and they drive very fast on up and down ground, felt sorta like a roller coaster ride. Trying to get pictures as they sped by was very hard, and often frustrating.

We got off the bus and onto a dive boat to the beach, we were allowed on the crappy side of the beach, the nice side was for the hotel guests, it was rocky, and those without water shoes suffered. Also it rained the whole time, which is not their fault, but they dropped us off at a beach with little shelter in the rain, came back an hour later to get us.

When asked if someone could just stay on the bus instead of go to the beach, the answer was no.

Perhaps we got a new driver? I cannot even remember the name of our driver, but it was not Cosol, and not anyone who's picture has been posted here.

I guess we were lucky in the long run, I heard that someone else on our ship was on the same tour in a different bus and it was so roller coaster like that there was people throwing up :(

Anyway I'm usually all about the private tours, had a WONDERFUL time with both Bernard in St Martin and Thenford Gray was outstanding, but I really did not enjoy Cosol, and most of our group felt the same.

    Different strokes...

    Cheers, Carole

LOL no Flames here , I dont disagree , We went a few years back found it hot LONG and tiring , I dont have the best health and you are right bathroom breaks were at a minimum so I never drank anything till the end of the tour. Now it was an ok tour, I agree with you on the beach as well must have been the same one.

We just came back from St Lucia and went on our own this time to Pigeon Island National Park , much nicer beach and we enjoyed our day a LOT more.

  8. :o:oI apoglgize I somehow had the wrong tour in mind , I was thinking Royston from St. Kitts We have done Cosol a few years back , no complaints other than its a long day

  9. So I was considering Cosol because of all the great reviews here, but I'm really having doubts. Looking at tripadvisor at cosol tours and sorting by rating, there are a number of bad reviews and things that were mentioned were seriously concerning to me, since I'd be going with children. Like dirty bathrooms, people on the beach smoking dope, that you only really stop for a few minutes, one person said the driver they had (which was not cosol) was hostile, another said their driver didn't tell them anything, another said the fresh local bread and cheese was cheese slices and a couple breadsticks.

Also, I find it very suspcious that of all the tours on St. Lucia on that site Cosol has 348 reviews and the next best rated one (James I believe) only 30. Lots of people with 1 review make me think he just goes on and gives himself good reviews. I am concerned they could be doing that here as well.

Someone point out that the reviews earlier in this thread mentioned the blue bus and the rum punch a lot and that maybe they were very free flowing with the alcohol and that made the tour seem much better in everyone's eyes. (Not that I have a problem with that, but we aren't going as a couple)

Anyone go on this tour and not drink? Would you recommend this for small children?

I just went to trip advisor went back 4 pages and didnt see a bad thing said:confused:

We also just returned from St Kitts and the Carnival Victory our 13th cruise. I dont pass out compiliments lightlly. I have to agree with the review above me we there right after he was. For the money and what he includes , he has sodas and water beer as well if you so desire , iwould suggest e-mailing and telling him what you would like to drink. He mentioned to us that he should ask as my wife likes diet sodas and we drank a lot of beer and water. He wouldnt mind as it all the same to him and he would just assume you would be happy. The only thing we wernt crazy about was the beach he took us to but I am sure he would have went somewhere else had we ask. But we were pretty much beached out at that point so it was just a quick stop to eat and realx a couple of of group did do some snorkeling which was good . I know one of my CC friends has already booked him on my recomendation. But if you dont feel comfortable with him there are several others waiting at the docks.

  10. They weren't showing on our cruise for the longest time, then about a month ago they were liisted under excursions. We sail next Saturday and they are still available. I assume they aren't popular or no one on our cruise is interested?

That seems odd , I mean they are a bit pricey but they look very cool and considering the money people spend on a cruise I would figure they book right up.

  11. Well we just got back , now I dont know if this is normal but Custom Agents were doing the scanning of your carry ons , and they could care less how much alcohol you carry on , the same thing happened to us at FLL on RCI on cruise. All they cared about was they kept saying empty your pockets put everything in your suitcases , we had beers left from pre cruise figured what the heck didnt want to go down to claim my luggage so stuck them in our Carry ons we got 12 in between us , another person went back down withh a back pack ,and bought a fifth and carried it right on , now if its carnival people they will take it , but Customs only look for knives etc.

  12. Well we just got back from our Victory cruise 4th cruise out of San Jaun loved the itinerary , the Victory I would give it a 7 out of 10 not my favorite rooms seemed smaller than Conquest class , or least the storage space my wife and packed light and struggled to find places to put our stuff. Our travelmates enjoy using the fridge , no fridges in balcony cabins , I had no idea , but no biggie to me. We had aft port side cabins had a lot of movement which is surprising to me on this cruise , once again didnt bother us but the seas sure looked calm for the movement we felt .

Food was good in the dining room , plenty of choices , really though it was better on the Glory in 09 but we didnt go hungry , so no complaints just my honest opinion.

Only watched one show but though it was the best we had ever seen in 13 cruises it was toward the end of the week , singing dancing , about 10 costume changes.

Just Thought I would stop in and give an update , the ship looks great , had great service , met some really fun waiters and who couldnt love these stops. :)

  13. Ok I would like to play Devils Advocate and I have said this on several ships , lets assume the worst thing , the ship hits something and is sinking , does anyone really think theses young kids that work for the cruise lines , that dont speak english all that well will calmly be standing where they belong just directy you to a lifeboat , it will be a cluster IMHO. Now saying that I cant imagine anything like that happening in the caribbean , I know there have been fires and evacuations but if that thing is sinking , I would say it would be ugly and I pray I never find out or anyone ever finds out. :)

  14. People who don't go cause everyone else to wait and wait and wait and wait. Thanks.

So how is that possible:confused: We just got off the Victory , they had no idea how many or who attended , and dont tell me they marked it off because they didnt I watched yes they had a sheet but NO ONE checked your sail and signs or ask your name so unless they have a pyschic working they just went throught the motions and this one lasted like 5 -10 minutes 2 announcements and boom done shortest one I ever saw and we were early for a change.

  15. We just got off the Victory Sept 25th and I believe this is the worst Piano Player and Singer that I have ever heard. There were a couple nights the place wasnt even open. He sounded like he was hoarse so I asked him if he was feeling allright and he said he felt fine but know one would sit down and listen to him.

:(:(:( Man that really sucks we truly love the piano bar , guess we wont be going there. Thanks for the update though.
