Tons of us waiting to hear from all of the returning cruisers off the Pride today.
You are the first ones after the 2.0 updates and we are all waiting very patiently. Lol

Even though I am not the one that posted the question, Thank You.

I came up with our "packing system" after one cruise where I insisted he do his own packing. What a mess! No offense intended to my darling husband, but he's just not inclined to be fussy about anything but his tools, and they reside in pristine toolboxes with lined drawers!!
At home, I rotate his shirts, since he has a habit of going to the one in the closet that is most familiar. This means he will wear the same shirt constantly as fast as I wash/dry/hang it back up. We eat out a lot, so he puts on a nice shirt, wears it for an hour or two, hangs it back up, repeats ad nauseum until he decides it needs washing. I have to look at the same shirt over dinner for what seems like eternity. That's when I just arbitrarily decide it goes to the dirty clothes hamper, regardless! :D
So, I took over the "inbound" cruise packing, and he gets to just throw the stuff in there on the "outbound". :D
Lol...my laugh for the day.

Thanks all,
With a 4.00pm sail away, I think we will go for the earlier train......
Smart move. This means you should be arriving in Penn Station approximately 10:30 to 11:00 am. By the time you exit the doors on 8th Ave. and hail a cab to the port (only a 5-10 minute ride), you will have everything perfectly timed for boarding the ship and checking in.
Have a great cruise. We loved the Breakaway.

Yes the whole truth should be given, but I'm not going to tell the identity of the crew member that told me the full details of what Jenny did for them and how hurt she was when she read this post. In addition to the comped lunch in Teppanyaki and the bottle of Prosecco with the chocolate covered strawberries, plus the decorated room to help celebrate their anniversary. I would never betray a friend of so many years by posting something like this to hurt them. All of the crew is aware that NCL reads these boards, and to do something to make a mistake that was very well compensated for is beyond seem so much worse is just wrong. Jenny was very hurt when she read this thread.
So very sad....but you know what? I think most of the CC members here know when someone is telling the truth. I know for a fact (will NOT divulge my source), that this woman is NOT telling even HALF the truth. Cheers to Jenny....

Think the moderators should stop this thread now. Its becoming increasingly nasty.

No. Not nasty. I think that if someone is going to complain, then they should tell the WHOLE truth. Not what suits them.

Wow. Amazing people here!
The overheard conversation was stated incorrectly here. .. it was the last night of the cruise, so we couldn't go another night, and Jenny was asking about our lunch and bottle at Teppanyaki. She wasn't comping us a meal My DH and Jenny have been friends for a long time, that way she came looking for us. Wasnt asking for anything or expecting anything except NCL should know so that it won't happen again to somebody else.
If people are going to eavesdrop on a conversation they should gets facts correct.
You also left out another part of your story. How about when you called guest services to tell them that your husband was so distraught over your "ruined" anniversary, that he tossed and turned all night. He fell out of bed. They sent the medic to your cabin and you refused to let them see or speak to your husband.

We had a similar experience at a very famous restaurant in NYC. Comedy of errors. One right after the other. We just laughed it off and have a great story for our grandchildren. Live and let live. One night of a bad experience in such an affluent restaurant did not determine how our anniversary was.

I enjoyed both of them, but if I had to choose, I would go with the Glory. She has had the 2.0 upgrades and the Splendor has not.
If you care about decor, the Splendor is pink, pink, pink. (does not bother me, but a lot of people seem to complain about it)
They are both great and IMO, you cannot go wrong with either.

Thank you for my morning laugh.
Attire of slacks, shirt and tie is perfectly fine since Carnival does not have formal nights anymore. Elegant (lol) is what they call it. Have seen jeans and tee shirts on elegant night. He will be fine.
HAVE A GREAT CRUISE :)

We board dec 28....do you think the decorations will be down by then? I'd love to get a pic of the Christmas tree!
Yes, decorations do not come down until after New Years.

Thank you for the response. Did you notice any cigar smokers there?
There were actually quite a few. It is wide open air space and we had tons of fun there. It was really good also because the non smokers had their own separate bar and everyone got along great.
-
How very exciting for you and your children. They are going to LOVE it. The Glory is a wonderful ship!!!!!
-
Thanks for the advice!
:):o:)

Hi Juliet. You are going to have a wonderful time. Love the Glory. She is a great ship. Try not to stress. Everything will be great.
Your question should be posted in the "Ports of Call" Caribbean section
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=587
Go here and you will finds TONS of info on each particular Island.
Have a WONDERFUL cruise.

When we were on the sister ship, the Breakaway last year, we had our sail a way party there. You were allowed to smoke at the starboard side bar only.

Hey GAPearl:
I'm from Puerto Rico (born and raised), now living in Georgia (Peachtree City). Hi neighbor. :) I go home a few times a year since all of my family (parents, sister, aunts, uncles and 54 first cousins) live there!
To answer your question, the island's original name was Boriken (name given by the original Taino Indian inhabitants), which was later changed to Borinquen. When the Spaniards arrived in the late 1400's, the island was renamed San Juan Bautista. Over time, the name San Juan was adopted by the capital while the island was eventually renamed Puerto Rico (or Rich Port, because of the belief that there was a lot of gold in the island). The term "Boricua" used to refer to people from Puerto Rico, derives from the original Indian name.
By the way, great job finding Tibes! That place is HARD to find, even for us locals! :o

AHA!!!!!!! No wonder you always have such great advice about visiting PR

Many of those 100 could be visitors to the site who can not post a reply. That has tripped me up as well. Have a fun cruise.
Ahhh....good point. Never thought of that.
Thank you everyone for all of your helpful responses..:o

My first time reading one of your reviews. WONDERFUL so far. :o

Should we stay on the ship? Will be on the Magic in Coz. on Nov.21. Have been there 3 times & at most with 2-3 other ships. This time their are 7. That's including 2 biggies the AoS, Epic. That's a lot of ppl.
A lot of passengers from the other ships come up to the Carnival terminal to shop. Maybe 25k?
Since you have already been to Cozumel, you know that there are TONS of places to go. All 25K people will not be going to the same place. Do you WANT to get off the ship? It is very common for 3 or 4 ships or more to be in each port.

It truly irks me when one that has never even tried a "said" cruise line, will dis it. If you have tried it, of course you are entitled to your opinion, but don't chime in if you have no idea what you are talking about.
Waiting for PRIDE reviews
