It would be nice to hear from people that this actually happened to and their actual experience.

Yes but it still doesn't mean that's your outcome. All you can do is FAFO. It is what is . Prepare for the worst and hope for the best... Good luck.

  2. I didn't look for it in Sept when we were in grand Cayman the mission on that trip was white Hennessy which we found and it was a couple bucks cheaper than the ship which didn't have any at all.I looked for it before then.and was told they shut down at a couple of liquor stores. So I don't know. It could be old stock or somebody figured out how to make a buck . I will be back next month and look I wanted a couple bottles for gag gifts. The alcoholics I give it to will drink anything anyway.if I find any .the wife wants more white Hennessy so that's what we will be doing in port.do while she asks for the Hennessy I will look for BBD rum.

We are just off Paradise and also noticed how understaffed the bars were.  I passed on specialty coffee the whole cruise because Java Blue ALWAYS had a line. It took forever to get drinks at every bar. It used to be there were so many "roving waters" on the pool deck and Serenity, and in show venues that it was almost a nuisance. This time it was rare to see one.

I don't drink alcohol anymore and I noticed that also in September. The few times I went to the bar to see what soft / energy drinks they had.

I'm aware that you can use a gift card before your cruise to put into cruise cash. Can you turn that into cash at the casino through a slot machine without being charged 3%?  Also, can i bring more than one $500.00 gift card with me and turn it into cash via a slot machine without a 3% charge?

I'd prefer to turn $1500 that way into cash for gambling because of the discount.

It is What I did in September. Go to the kiosk and load your gift card(s) then go play the slots. I'm doing that also on horizon in a few months with the 3 gift cards from the Newegg deal.  Hopefully horizon has a smoke free casino area.

DW and i are booked on the Horizon for May of 2024 we are both Platinum guest. We are booked on an inside cabin on deck 7 in the middle. Middle of the hall not near elevator or stair cases. I have received 2 upgrade offers from Carnival. Both offers where for Ocean View cabins at an upgrade price of $428.00 for a deck 1 back room room 428 or Deck 1 ocean view room 122. Now i understand i would be moving to Ocean View but both of these locations (1 over the props and the other at water line) seem less desirable to me then what i have for the price. Much lower cost maybe. Anyone think this is a Good Offer ?

We are on Horizon in April. My offer was move to a deck 4 Oceanview from lido deck inside for an upcharge. I don't remember how much. I already paid extra to be on lido deck.  We were in a deck 4 Oceanview on a 6 day on Paradise but I paid less than $500 for the entire cruise for the wife and I. The Horizon I paid full price.but still about $400 less than it is now.

I haven't noticed it on recent cruises including an 8 day Eastern Caribbean, it's probably one of those things thats up to the cruise director. If anyone has seen it on a recent cruise, what was the itinerary?

Carnival Paradise in September .6 day out of Tampa . We went to key West, grand Cayman and Montego bay. The fun times were put in the cabin on the first night for the next day ,after that I guess you had to hunt them down. I used the Hub app the whole cruise .it was not accurate but close enough . The white Hennessy sale was posted for several times and days for the cruise but when we went they were all out and didn't have the sale.we checked one other time with no results since they couldn't tell us if they were going to have any or not. Later my wife got some on Grand Cayman a few bucks cheaper than it would have been onboard anyway.

I tried it once and haven't felt the need to go back. You should try it though.

Mine and my wife's opinion also. Carnivals food is hit or miss. Try it and see. On our cruise last september the food on the first full day was as salty as it could be all day then after that the rest of the cruise it was bland .they  must have used up all the salt . Seafood shack when we had it on Liberty was a once and done.It was greasy as greasy could get and we like fried food. We will try it on Horizon  in April . It could be a once and done too.

Just got mine 30 minutes ago. Took awhile.

I used the carnival master card for mine. They emailed me thinking it was a fraudulent charge I guess since it was for 3 cards.i had to inform the bank I was actually making the purchase then they sent my emails with the cards. Took a little bit but AARP took 3 weeks and several calls to get 2 $500 cards last year. I have bought from Newegg before with no issues.

  9. The only time I catch COVID is when I read about it here.. my wife thought she had it when we got off the Paradise last September 2 home tests and a trip to be tested at the VA hospital and she wound up with a sinus infection.. I guess I won't be getting that life insurance and half her military retirement after all.  I had to laugh at her apparently she reads cruise critic too.

  10. I was on the Paradise in September .the fridge kept my water cold enough to suit me. It's probably going to be hit or miss like anything else. If the fridge doesn't suit you I guess you can bribe the cabin Stewart into bringing you ice. If you don't drink room temperature beer you are not a true alcoholic anyway.. I'm sure the alcoholics will chime in and correct me.

  11. If it's a must have just bring it. You can't depend on Carnival to have it. Carnival ran out of hot sauce at the blue iguana condiment bar on day 3 of a six day cruise. So ,what can I say. Bacon only on the first morning. I could go on and on. We will be on Horizon in April we will be prepared. ( no ,I'm not bringing bacon . Hot sauce yes ,Sriracha yes. Some Tony C probably.Monster ultra absolutely .)More than likely our last cruise anyway.my wife has fallen out of love with it and that is  A okay with me.

  12. We made gold last September and it didn't change our lives at the very least and certainly not for the better. I purchased water so the "free" water got left behind and we didn't get our 2 "free" drinks since we don't drink and didn't think about it . I guess we could have gotten 2 ginger ales or something. We did pickup the pins but I couldn't tell you what they look like. The guy handed them to my wife and she probably doesn't even know where they are at ..I bought 100+ shares of stock for the OBC but since we did 6 night cruises it was only $50. As soon as the stock price hits my acceptable selling point it's history too.

  13. I doubt An adults only cruise line like VV would be exempt from spring break rowdiness. We did Celebrity out of San Juan second week of April some years back that was peaceful. I unwittingly have a cruise booked for the second week of April myself .I never thought about spring break out of Miami.

  14. No it can be anything. I got the card 3 months ago and made a large purchase of batteries for my golf cart  and easily met the $500 ..  I received the ,$200 credit. After that with the Carnival price increases I went ahead and paid my cruise and gratuities off  since my wife finally decided she did want to cruise again. So it does not have to be carnival related.
