Of course there will be price gougers. There are apps for finding cheaper gas.

I might be weird but then again i was a trucker 35 years ago and i prefer truck stop restrooms. Any more I 20 in south carolina has been backing up for hours at a time luckily i filled my tank at any price before hitting the log jam and it took 3 hours to get off the interstate to find a new longer route home.

  2. This is why i read these boards every day. I checked my booking and had an adjoining cabin i had one 10 years ago that had little kids in it and they screamed all day ,every day. I called Carnival a few hours ago and got moved a few doors down and came out with a lower price and a little extra o.b. c. . And got to stay on lido deck. I thought they would hit me up for extra money but they surprised me.  They did jack my prepaid gratuities up but i still came out ahead.

My personal opinion is that Carnival is being too cheap with their policy of withholding bacon from the buffet. What's next? Food prices are going up...ok, we understand that...but where do you draw the line when it comes to customer service? If milk prices go much higher, will they ration it too? We pay good money for a cruise experience that shouldn't see us being nickled and dimed to death. If they ever stoop so low as to eliminate the free ice cream cones...I'm out!!

Their ice cream is nothing to write home about but MSC's gelato was worth the cost. I ate it 2 times a day.

Interesting. I thought the breakfast at the buffet on Splendor on May 2 was fine. The made to order omelets were excellent, the ham, hashbrown rounds, grits, bagels and French toast were good as well.

I know people who really like vending machine food too.

The media isn't the problem. The positive cases are the problem.

Since when is having less information the answer? People need information in order to make strong decisions. There are people with all types of medical issues that would want to avoid a Covid outbreak or exposure even if they are vaccinated. Yes, some vaccinated people die. There are breakthrough cases. Ignorance is never the answer.

Actually ignorance is bliss. People die every day. My father used to say when one dies another is born to take their place. No problems.  I guess that comes from growing up in europe during ww2.. For most people these days, a bad day is when mickey d's hands you your order and you reach in the bag to be greeted with cold french fries. Its been 2 years. if Covid didn't kill you it was meant for something else to do that job.

As all Carnival cruises have been sailing cash flow positive, it means a better chance for profitability. Since they won't be adding capacity every month or so like they they have been, they won't need to discount cabins so heavily.

For those not keeping score, it also allows for staffing to catch up.

It's a good thing and not a complain thing.

You mean all  those$49 pp cruises i saw on the Carnival sight was a hallucination. Oh yes, plus fees and taxes but still  way less than ever and i don't get casino deals. I hear cheerleading does not pay well either.  Carnival is Carnival take it for what its worth . Business must not be all that great if they are pushing the big guy out.

If you want any easy excursion to see Key West, I recommend the Old Town Trolley. It’s about $50 through Carnival and you can hop on and off. It only takes about 2 hours to ride the full loop, which still allows time to grab food and drinks.

When i checked it was cheaper through Carnival but since i have 500 more days to go i have not booked anything and who knows what will happen by then.i thought i saw a price of $39 p.p..

  8. I know what you mean. We have been one time about 20 years ago. We walked around and went to the Mel Fisher museum and some other famous persons house that i cant rember . It was a package deal and close to each other. We are going to ride the narrated hop on / hop off  tour bus all the way around and then go back to what might be interesting  since you can hop off, explore then get back on. Get a piece of key lime pie somewhere and sight see. I think it is a short stay at least for us 5-6 hours something like that. I enjoyed Key West but it isn't a real active port

We absolutely tip extra when there is outstanding service.  However, I am not like the rest of the internet walking around throwing $5's at every person with a nametag on.

We may give our steward and extra $20 or so but that is about it.  We aren't needy cruisers, they pretty much make the bed and swap the towels and the rest of the cabin is already in order.  They spend less than 10 minutes a day in our cabin.

For servers if I am just being handed a beer at the bar I might not tip anything extra.  If you make me a great martini during the pre-dinner rush you might get $5.  If a server is bringing me drinks to the table saving me a trip to the bar they get tipped every time.  It all varies, I still believe tips are proportional to service provided and not some some charity program.

My thoughts exactly. Everytime i read these big money tycoons talk about all the extra money they throw around it reminds me of Gilligan's Island and the Howells.

If they allowed folks with up to date boosters to opt out of pre-cruise testing altogether, I'd bet it would motivate a lot of people to get boosted. Hopefully, CDC is considering something like this. A carrot works much better than a stick.

Thats true i can lead my flock of sheep to the end of the earth with a handful of corn.Baaaaa baaa. No need for fact checkers i actually do have sheep and other critters.

Anyone here cruise with insulin? Are there any issues getting on the ship with insulin needles? My SIL is going on her first cruise with us and is diabetic. Does Carnival need to know if someone is Diabetic and using insulin?

    Thanks

No i used to use then i went to rehab and i am clean now. Just ask the room steward for a sharps container.my wife still shoots up.i eat low carb and got off the stuff.

Carnival has changed a lot for the better. The food is better. The prices are cheaper. The shows are much better but not quite at NCL/RCI level. The ships are older but comfy. There are newer ships with more bells and whistle but it'll cost you. There are more themed parties rather than just the club scene.

Carnival has made strides and really upped their game imo. This is coming from someone who hated Carnival ~15 years ago. Carnival is pretty solid given their dirt cheap price. I am a happy sailor.

    Huh?

We just got off The Sunshine yesterday. Hated to leave her! Idk where the "dirty" comes from? Or the sewage smell? Or the not good Food? Or anything else... Seriously, It sounds like we were on 2 different Ships. Our cabin #9115 was immaculate after every time our Steward cleaned/straightened up. Same with the balcony. Actually even better taken care of since our last cruise 8/20 when the  C- word stopped us from sailing until 2/22. We weren't too excited over the Lido buffet, but the MDR service AND food were pretty good to us... I'm sorry y'all had such a dismal experience on her, especially b/c we had an absolute blast. The ONLY thing I semi-whined about. Lol Actually both of us, to each other, was having our favorite Bahamas time on Half Moon Cay switched out for Bimini. Eh stuff happens. It was Amazing sailing at only 70% capacity! Yeah to NO Crowds! Haha, it sure spoiled me😁

They said they have not sailed carnival in 15 years .Carnival was much nicer then. Now not that great. We jumped ship after our third carnival cruise and never regretted it.

I wonder how the soda tastes, sometimes the water on the ship is perfectly safe to drink but doesn't have the pure taste you'd think would be necessary to make a nice glass of pop.

Msc had a soda station and a beer station on the ship we were on tasted fine to me.Carnival might be different

Well in my case I'm there one that gambles more than husband. Last cruise because of masks I was able to spend time in the casino. Nothing crazy maybe 1-2 hours max a day. Husband maybe 2-3 hours the whole 8 day cruise. A few months after the cruise I got a few casino offers, nothing exciting like people post, pretty much regular rates with a few other perks included. Now husband the non gambler gets the $25 balcony fare with all the perks added like some free play and drinks. Based on this to meet its random 🤔

Its not random. Its the same technique crack dealers use to get people hooked.

Probably after February 15 when people can’t cancel just because they don’t want to go the phone lines should be much better,I assume.

I am sure it will be but i am one of those wanting to cancel. They mentioned the link like the january cancellation but after trying it three times it does not work either.
