I like that idea. Why should the unvaccinated hold up the line as they wait for test results. Give them a window time in the morning to take the test and then give them an area to sit and wait for their results.

And if even one test comes

back positive, the entire group will be denied boarding.
I don’t give a rats ass on who is or is not vaccinated when I go to the store. But this is different and I’ll be damned if I’m gonna let a few stubborn people think only of themselves thus possibly ruining my cruise as we all get quarantined. Or even worse, the cruise lines get shutdown again.

In the meantime, those vaccinated can proceed to board as soon as the ship is cleared for new passengers. Just like normal times for them.

I’d also like to see a wristband system. If you’re vaccinated you get the wristband and do what you want and go where you want.

No wristband? Masks at all times in public and buffets are off limit!!

Off to the internment camps for you unvaxxed scum.how dare you refuse the faucci ouchie.no wonder there was a toilet paper shortage.if I don't cruise I'll buy a few more of them "ghost" guns that make me so giddy.who am I kidding? I'll buy them anyway.

    New CDC guidelines released today.

For vaccinated passengers, no tests required. (unless you're traveling from outside the US)

I don't want to get into the particulars, because each cruise line may be different. For vaccinated passengers though, it looks like cruising could be mostly back to normal.

Cruising hasn't been normal in the last twenty years.it evolves every year to be more of an expensive boat ride.

Not saying they won't return, I am 100% sure they will and quickly, not to mention (for NCL) their new terminal however in the short term Seattle and Alaska are welcoming a restart while Florida are fighting.
Alaska must be jumping for joy at Florida's attitude.

Alaska makes a perfect restart & they are being welcomed with open arms.

Alaska needs the business a lot more than Florida does .justify any way you want.this garbage changes every day.wont be long a new band wagon will come along to jump on.

IF this cruise cancels, which I am fully expecting it to cancel, it will be our 4th one to cancel since the 'rona started. I was only sharing it because this is the first time I have seen anything about cruises over 7 days being allowed. During the entire shutdown there was talk that cruises longer than 7 days wouldn't be allowed. Anyway, here is to hoping.

I have a 10 day in january.im hoping it will be cancelled.so I can put my money on my august cruise with the grandkids.ive been putting off my knee replacement but it's about time to bite the bullet and get it done first of the year.Taking tours in those tiny little  cramped Chinese made buses is rather painful.my walking is limited to a half mile stretch.we generally walk 6-7 miles in search of interesting souvenirs.you can find unique items in places like Cozumel when you venture out.

No, sorry, you're wrong and I know from first hand experience.

I've been on Msc and I'm not going to argue the price with you.i was looking at their site a while ago because I prefer msc over carnival.unfortunately a lot of carnival cruisers are trying them out.i only book carnival when the grandkids go with us.

They are cranking out the ships with their aggressive marketing campaign which began about 5 years ago with the Seaside.  They have 4 classes on their ships, Bella, Fantastica, Aurea and Yacht Club.  Since the Yacht Club is like the Havana area on steroids, eventhough you could get rock bottom cheap Bella pricing, the Yacht Club policy would not be your cup of tea.

For instance,  if someone comes into your elevator and they are Yacht Club, whatever floor they wish to go to has priority. If you're on 2 and wish to go to 7, they get on 4 and wish to go to 11, you will go to 11 and then go to 7.  Not making this up. RF wrist bands.

They pay 3 times more for the privilege.

just in case anyone was wondering, plastic straws take about 200 years to decompose. so even with proper disposal, they are going to be in landfills for a VERY long time

You made me feel guilty .I had mcdonald's for dinner and I sure love me a mcdonald's straw.they make good fishing lures too.the spanish mackerel love them.

Nothing terribly surprising. With that stated, those desiring to get off the ship and meander wherever on their own at ports, are really going to hate this.

I'm no stranger to bumping my dates forward .all this will pass and be forgotten.carnival has had my money for so long I just want to take any cruise to get my money's worth and be done with it.i.miss my road trips more than cruising.

Would repurposing the current Buffet into a third MDR with extended hours and unique options that differentiate it from the MDR more like a Breeze Cafe with create your own dishes with ingredients provided on the menu, a Brazilian Rodizio one night, Surprise Creations another night, Guy Fieri's night etc would draw in people.

I envision large accordion windows that are on all sides that can open with a retractable roof along with music and special drinks. Late night options can be Midnight Surprise, Passenger creations night and Crew creations night whereby a contest is held and the winning menu makes its way here.

You could have Flexible options here with a center Fountain and Rotating floor that turns with each course

    Thoughts?

No thank you.we did the mdr our very first carnival cruise.we eat at buffet on any cruise line since.my wife refuses I'm not going into the details but mdr is a no go.as crowded as the buffet is the mdr must not be as poplar as you think.

I haven't read anywhere what the protocol will be for elevators. But to me, this is going to be a real problem if they limit access to the elevators. Meaning, only two ppl can get on an elevator or something along those lines. The elevators can hardly keep up with the demand like it was.

Montcreif army clinic on fort jackson was like that. 2 people per elevator car unless all related.good thing (active duty) military people have manners and common courtesy so it worked out .i don't see it happening on carival.

Yes sorry original booking 2 rooms 3 in each. Now 4 people are going. So we can put 2 in each room.

It's still going to cost the same.just do no shows then move people to whatever cabins you want when you check in..you will get refunded port fees for the no shows.

Even though its pretty flat today even around some great industry news, just ike to point out to all the 'get ready for bankruptcy' people---the stock is up roughly 300% from a year ago. 300.

Still a good time to buy even today, if you're looking for the shares for OBC benefit.

Who's stock isn't up 300% from a year ago? Or anything else for that matter like lumber and ammo .you know important stuff.

Spending five nights in Key West. I live 5 miles from the Gulf. I will spend the summer on the beach and golf course. A cruise is a nice vacation, but not the only type of vacation. For those going to Gatlinburg, they have a really nice acguarium.

Gatlinburg was our go to every august when the grandkids came down for the summer before they went back to school.we took a break for a few years now we are ready to go back.

Of course I've compared the two, I always do once we settle on an itinerary that we want to do (this isn't my first rodeo, after all😉. I also throw NCL into the mix, also, just for grins. Our one Royal cruise on Anthem happened because the balcony cabin we were looking at was $400 less than Carnival and $1800 less than NCL. Everyone's booking habits are different as are the ports they sail out of and that affects price a great deal. We just booked a 7 day western Caribbean itinerary on Carnival Glory out of NOLA in April 2023 in an ocean suite for $2800. I didn't see anything close to that from Royal.

Comparing carnival's suite to other cruise lines is like comparing apples to oranges.carnival is cheaper because all you get is priority boarding and a bottle of water.if that's all you need then it's all good.

It's not "sheer laziness" in every case. When you have a family of say 5-8 or more, it adds up really quickly. To the point where you can take a whole vacation for the same costs. For some it may be a matter of cost vs value. Not everyone loves traveling by plane for long hauls and would get very little use out of the cost. I think a lot of singles and couples forget that value erodes quickly when you have a family and have to pay everything in many multiples of two. A family of six costs the same as a couples vacation times three. Probably even more as you need multiple rooms/cabins.

Older folks with more free time and those who enjoy globetrotting may find it a small inconvenience and good value. Larger families and those of us who may not use it as much would rather spend that spend on an actual vacation. For example, I just spent a week in San Diego for the same cost it would have been for my family to acquire passports and the only place we would use them is to fly to Mexico for an all inclusive, something we used to do with only our ID's. I'm actually hoping that with the enhanced drivers licenses becoming a thing everywhere, that we may be allowed to travel to neighboring countries with ID's again as we used to be able to do.

A lot of people cruise one time and never do it again 95% of my immediate family and inlaws (16 people) never return.my wife and I are repeat cruisers and 2 of my sister in laws.so they probably see no need to spend that money on a full passport or the passport card. Besides I thought this new enhanced driver license was supposed to cover all that.

Stella Rose, is that the one that includes a river boat ride, lunch, and the ruins at Altun Ha?  We did that one years ago and would love to do it again.  It was one of our favorite excursions of all times!

I wish we did that one .we had the straight through bus ride on the one we did.
