  1. I have no interest in virgin voyages at all.for me it's celebrity, then msc and carnival last .food wise and in general.my wife still likes the carnival product for the most part I will only take them grand boys of ours on Carnival.they just like roaming the ship like a pack of alley cats I don't think it would be tolerated on the other lines.

We have not cruised Carnival in a few years and now looking to book a 8 day cruise next February with the Included Cheers package.  This deal requires a non refundable $500 deposit for two people.  If we need to cancel due to COVID,  will the allow us to move that deposit to another cruise?  My concerns are if we do not have our full vaccinations or the border is still closed.  We are coming form Canada.

I would call carnival. I don't know if any answer would be set in stone right now.i have a 10 day in January that put down $1500 when I booked precovid.i just take it one day at a time to see what the changes are until final payment is due and if I'm going to cancel.

  3. They tried to sell you things the first 2 days on most any cruise line.for me celebrity was the worst on embarkation day.the same waiter must have asked us if we wanted a drink or drink package seems like 50 times.we are generally a memorable couple.not a lot of white men got black wives.i told him no every time.we quit drinking and smoking 20 years ago.i don't think MSC was so bad but we had 5500 passengers that sailing they might have been stretched thin.

If you make a reservation on the first night, you get a free bottle of wine.  I had the sole and it was excellent.  My first time in the Carnival Steakhouse and well worth it.

Is that what the bottle of liquid was? I've had much better $4 bottles of moscato from our local Aldi's. free is free.

I can see why this would be done but I'm unsure as to how to get the desired amount. In my case I often take a very small amount of a number of things so this method might result in waste on my part. Of course I do (often) see people who load up tons of stuff they never eat so maybe this would actually result in less wasted food.

I don't know why people keep harping on wasted food.if you take the food and don't eat it ,it goes to the fishes.if you don't take it and it's left over at the end of the day it still goes to the fishes.maybe they should give everyone 3 m.r.e.'s a day and tell you to enjoy.

  6. For my ten day I booked inside and paid a premium for lido deck due to 4 sea days.i booked 2 cabins on a 4 day 1 balcony and an inside again lido deck because of only one port day and the convenience of the cabin near by.no decisions were made because of covid.i actually booked the ten day before covid.we always get insides but I figure we probably won't cruise any more after the 4 day so I got a balcony for the wife and I and the youngest grandson .I figured it would suck for him to have to hangout with me and his grandma so I booked an inside for his 2 brothers to come along too.personally I've lived through worse  than covid to give a flip about it.im more worried about bad drivers and all the criminals/degenerates running loose amongst us in our ever changing world.

  7. I had a ten day journeys cruise with 5 ports.it might be a no go because it's ten days but I'm not going if all we can do is take a 2-3 hour ship sponsored tour then have to reboard.we always find a nice tour outside the gates then when we get dropped back off we walk around and shop.i paid with carnival gift cards so I booked a 4 day bahamas so I can take the grandkids with out having to spend 2 days going back and forth to Miami and dealing with hotels.ill cancel my ten day and go on my 4 day just to use up my gift cards and be done with the whole idea of cruising.

I'm aware of princess and their Alaskan cruises lol. I just liked rcl atmosphere better, and probably would go for rcl. Rcl has solo cabins to Alaska and princess doesnt. I should have grabbed one for like 636 when it first came out on quantum for 22, so I'll look for 23.

As above I found princess a bit staid. If prices were the same ... but for me rcl has better prices as a solo. ..though I didnt mention that above. I am tired of carnival always charging me double. But I wouldnt say no to any cruise at the right price.

Like you I'm well above 50 cruises, maybe 75, I have no idea. But I'm pretty aware of what's out there. I almost did msc, but worried about eating. I hate italian food, dont like pasta much or cooked tomatoes. I worried enough not to go. The only deal I passed up.

Good thing you didn't do msc then.with all those nationalities on board.you would starve if your not adventurous with your eating there is lots of pizza and pasta.im italian so I thought it was great.especially the pizza.it was very close to what my mother and grandmother used to make.

Carnival seems more generous handing out obc. Rcl shortened some to 7 days and gave no obc. They said its price protected. They wouldnt charge extra even though prices went up.

Who can know what will happen. I just hope you get to go as you like your cabin.

I'm crossing my fingers myself for sept.

It's kind of hard to shorten a ten day southern caribbean from charleston.im at the point I don't care to even go. I'm waiting until the last minute to cancel hoping for some obc.i booked 2 cabins on a 4 day nassau cruise later in the year to take the grandsons one more time.after that who knows if and when we will cruise again.we will probably just do Airbnb and fly to cozumel or jamaica for 4-5 days.

Oh crap..... I'm a little surprised they're cancelling that far out.

I'm booked for an 8 day in December so we're getting anxious about actually getting to go.

I got a 10 day in january.im playing it by ear but I honestly hope it's a no go.the ship sponsored excursions are a deal breaker.especially with 5 ports.

I got a better deal last weekend a lot more obc on a 4 day bahamas and I got a t.a. to almost double it.i did a mock booking a while ago and I came out better with a real port with the 2 cabins I booked last weekend.I'm not too keen on half moon cay anyway we have been there.i can understand the attraction though if you live in a state with no beaches.

The fine print really says "Please send us money! Anything!" Its hard to pay the board 7 digit salaries with no cruising going on!

I made my donation last week when they had $50 deposits I got 2 cabins.but that's all they are getting.they got to wait a year and 4 months for the rest.

I hope so as well.  I just have serious reservations about the US's ability to administrate something like this.  Lines at the drivers license renewal stations in our area were 2-3 hours long - when they were open.  Efficiency is not our government's strong point.

You should move.covid made these easier for us.they are actually organized for the first time.

I once booked an inside guarantee cabin for back to back Southern Carribean cruise on RCL. Imagine my shock when we were assigned a handicapped balcony cabin!  It was a huge upgrade from an inside but I felt very uncomfortable about using this cabin.  We went to Guest Services to let them know That we were wrongly assigned a handicapped balcony.  (My husband actually had a cast on his arm from hand surgery). The GS rep said “no you are fine enjoy your cabin”. I explained that my husband was not handicapped and we feel uncomfortable using this cabin.  She said the cabin was not

need by any passengers and if it is needed we will be moved out.  The cabin and the balcony were huge but we did get more than a few “looks” from other passengers when leaving our clearly marked handicapped cabin. One passenger came made a snarky comment about “people pretending to be handicapped “. Ugh!! Sure enough on day 6 a passenger was injured and we were moved to an inside cabin. All in all, it was not a good experience!

I wish non handicapped people felt guilty about parking in handicap spots.they don't though.
