  1. thinking about the trip with my sons (20 and 24) and the several sea days has made me think more about onboard activities. I liked your tip about picking up a schedule in the fitness center. Are there other things like that where the full schedule isn't on the app? are all the pub trivia / quiz type things on the app, or do we pick up the schedule? I have one son who likes to be doing something all the time (or so it seems to his aging mother)! thanks for the informative and funny review!
  2. I started cruising with my parents in the late 70s so enjoyed this trip down memory lane!
  3. So wonderful to read this. I plan to go on this itinerary next summer with my two sons in their early 20s and I can imagine us doing a lot of the same things.
  4. The travel fashion girl group on Facebook has good tips. But you will be tempted to buy too many things!
  5. Belfast Shore Excursion to Belfast Murals | Cab Tours Belfast We used this company when in Belfast on a land vacation and it was the highlight of the trip.
  6. We enjoyed the Book of Kells and the whole Trinity College area. We got tickets in advance. We didn't plan far enough in advance to go to the Gaol - it was sold out like 2 or 3 weeks in advance. Just FYI. We went to EPIC the Emigration Museum and were underwhelmed. Next time I want to do the Post Office for Easter Rising history. Walking around was very fun too, interesting small shops and restaurants, etc.
  7. The company we used for a tour of the murals also does Giant’s Causeway tours. cabtoursbelfast.com
  8. We did a driving trip in Ireland last month. We listened to Fintan O’Toole’s “We don’t know ourselves” which was great. I also recommend “how the Irish saved civilization” referenced above. In terms of movies I noticed “the quiet Man” is on Netflix and we also looked at “the crying game.” Rebellion is kind of soapy but good on the Easter Rising. If you like The Great Courses they have one on the troubles and peace process, and another one on Irish history and literature ~ both excellent.
