If you put clear nail polish on your jewelry it'll last much longer!

My first post was half cocked, so
I'll apologize a 3rd time. The 2nd post was the real numbers. Although, after I looked it up to double check again this morning, it doesn't actually work since the celebrity cruise doesn't have a matching date(the one I price checked was a week after), so I'm stuck.
I just thought it would be fun to active on this forum, but I'll go back to a reader only. I don't like having to battle after giving an opinion.

It's really sad that this forum is this way. This forum is VERY informational and helpful but it sucks that when you have a different opinion, people feel the need to jump down your throat and try to demean you.

No bad experience, it's just I can never find anything I like in my size. The store is not real inviting with lots of empty shelves and racks and things scattered around unappealingly (is that a word?). I am going to try another one because I am impressed with the good buys people on here find. I am hoping it is just a matter of location.
The ones near me are usually bare also...I even asked a sales associate if they were going out of business b/c it was so empty but she said no. I usually stick to TJ Maxx and Marshall's. They're always well stocked!

I was looking at a pair of Coach flipflops at Nordstrom ... $99. I went to Neiman Marcus Last Call where they were 30 percent off and started to bite. Then I went into Ross at the same mall (Sugarloaf Mills, for all you Atlanta-area ladies) ... they had them ... for $39.
If you're patient and willing to hunt ... Ross is a major score. I bought a Michael Kors blouse there for $30. It was $159 across the mall in NMLC.
I just discovered Sugarloaf Mills....I'm in love with that mall, even though I got lost lol

I have, but not since 2006. Anyway, it doesn't matter to me what they call the event, as long as I get to wear that gorgeous dress. At any rate, I love positive attention so I wouldn't care if I was the only one wearing a gown. Why get sequins if you don't want to stand out? :p
You sound like me lol, I love any reason to dress up...and I'm usually the one that's "overdressed".

Hello all you lovely ladies.
Here are my three dresses from our Southern Caribbean cruise on the Jewel of the Seas last week.
Gorgeous!

Hello everyone. I'm new to CC and I go on my next cruise in July. I haven't been on a cruise since 2006 and I was in middle school at the time, so I barely remember a thing. I just ordered my dress last night and I'm in love!:p:D
Gorgeous dress! I'd like to see pics of you in it as well!

You obviously have not cruised on CCL.....or at least not since they changed FORMAL nights to ELEGANT nights. It is really quite a joke. Trash...pure trash. People should be ashamed of themselves...(or go to the buffet).
Oh wow..you must be the fashion police.

Love the J Crew shorts... But in the MDR I think you would have to dress them up a bit , with a blazer or a satin blouse and little heels. Like this , but lose the oxfords and shades ( too daytime).
Some may frown , but if you are young and have good legs , it is a cute look.

Very cute idea!

For reference, these are the shorts
I think you'll be fine.
Since this is a free world, I think as long as you're covered up and not flashing anyone then you're okay. If your fellow cruisers are displeased, then that's they're problem.

I just picked this one up for a non-formal dinner/work dress.
They (theoutnet.com) styled it with a biker jacket so I think I'm going to look for one of those next. :D
Love it!
I'm a fan of pairing biker jackets with feminine dresses.

It would not surprise me that the beards are testing it on one ship and seeing how the price increase will effect the numbers. If the numbers are fairly similar, then they will implement the increase to the other ships in the fleet that are offering the Cheers program. Of course on the other hand, if the numbers are substantially lower, then the increase fleet wide with participating ships will not happen.
Yeah I think that's what it is.
I just spoke to another rep about it and he said its $42 on the ship I'm sailing on and the price definitely varies per ship.

I don't care what some no brain, no nothing "rep" said. I know what I paid.
No need to get hostile...

Very nice!
I wholeheartedly believe in Ross, TH Maxx, and Marshall's. I always find some great pieces in there for even greater prices.

I've read on the boards that the price has gone up and it is now $57.50 pp per day with gratuity. If it goes up anymore I don't think I'll participate during my 8/21 trip on splendor-it wouldn't be worth it with all the limitations.
I just spoke with a rep and they said $42.95.
-
I just need some updated info. Is cheers now $57.50per person/per day?
Wait since when??
Looks like I'm not doing this program anymore

I totally understand. I am 5'11" with a long torso, so cocktail dresses are challenging to find in an appropriate length. I do pretty well with Nordstrom since they post accurate lengths from shoulder to hem. As long as you know the minimum length that will work for you, then you can find great dresses. It just takes more time and patience at our height. :D
Lisa
Thanks for that. I'm gonna check Nordstrom out.
Asos is pretty good also. They post the model's height, so I'm usually able to look at how it fits them and determine how it'll fit me.
-
Maybe try some flat sandals instead of heels? It'll shorten you a little. Being 5'4 I am always looking for heels to make me taller
Nope. Lol
My torso is pretty long also so whenever I wear shorter dresses my "cheeks", for lack of better words, are on the verge of playing peek-a-boo.
I'm 6 feet, btw

Just picked this one up for $50 this afternoon. I am officially done shopping for my upcoming cruises!
now that is cute!
I love those short numbers...but I have way too much legs for that lol
-
I love these two. Where did you find them?
Someone mentioned ASOS - I just placed my first order over the weekend. I can't wait to get it and yes everything was so cheap!
I'm excited for you lol. The best part about it is that even though they're in the UK, their processing and shipping time is super fast. Usually if I order in the morning during the week, they ship it out that same day.

Beautiful dresses!
I would love to wear dresses that long and elegant but it's so hard to find those type of dresses to fit my length and frame.

No problem. Hope you find something you like!
