  1. Party for me is good food, good wine, good conversation and friendly people who don’t go on vacation to complain. And if the glare from my bald head upsets people, I’ll make sure to wear my hat at all times🤪 Now point me in the direction of the bartender that can make a great lemon drop martini😛😛😛
  2. Cant wait to feel that warm humid air while eating breakfast out on deck. It is 27 degrees here this morning....and this is Florida. How is the atmosphere on board? Quiet, festive...very social? Or are fellow passengers just doing their own thing? I realize no two cruises are the same but if the ship is about 250 plus pax, is there a party atmosphere? Cant wait!
  3. Love the Iguana picture. The first thing that popped into my mind was.....what you lookin at Willis? You may be too young to remember that line😉
  4. Thank you! Got a call from WS to upgrade my cabin for $300......to my surprise I went for it. Now instead a port holes on deck 3, I’ve got a balcony on deck 5. This upcoming cruise just gets better. Now all I need is lots of bacon, some good cuts of meat and some white wine. Im already considering my next WS cruise.....addiction is pricey
  5. Gotta know when....love the updates! Have the water sports equipment been used on your cruise? If so is the sea water cool or cold as it’s January🤪 Thanks for your posts!
  6. Thank you for the passenger count. I sailed on the Breeze in 2021.....less than 50 passengers onboard plus company reps. Seeing how things operate with more people will be interesting. I’m hoping this trip will entice me to book the Pride for this coming December. I’ve fallen out of love with the big ships and need lines like Windstar and Star Clippers to keep me cruising. Enjoy your cruise....eat, drink, swim, sleep....repeat.
  7. Great info! can you tell me how full the ship is for your sailing🤓 thank you.
  8. Thank you sooooo much for this thread. I’m getting on the Pride on Jan 28th, so all your posts just wet my appetite and excitement even more. Thank you !
  9. I have only sailed once on MSC back in 2014...on the Divina. Booked a Balcony cabin in September on a 7 night Caribbean cruise. I was disappointed with the service, the food and the passengers. Now many years later I’m looking at a summer cruise out of Port Canaveral for a week. The yacht club on the Seaside looks nice but not sure what to expect. Thoughts on the yacht club overall? Is there enough to make the week up there a nice experience should the rest of the ship be a mob scene and too congested to leave the club? Thanks in advance.
  10. Thank you for this posting. It’s got me even more anxious to get on the Pride this January.
  11. Thank you for the photos of your meal at Le Bistro! I can’t wait till Feb to get on Prima. From the movie Oliver....food glorious food, that’s all that I live for. Next month it’s the Getaway......and will dine at Le Bistro to hold me over till Prima. Thanks for the pictures🤗
  12. Maybe that isn’t a urinal , but a new style bidet 😝making the facility a unisex lavatory. 🤩🤩🤩
  13. Just found this thread. Princess has been my number one cruise line....26 out of my 92 cruises to date. In 2021 I sailed on Celebrity Edge post Covid shut down as well as Windstar’s Breeze. I fully understood the impact of Covid and took things in stride. Then sailed on Sky Princess in Jan 2022... which turned out to be substandard for Princess. The ship was not full by any means, but staffing was really inadequate. Food quality was poor except for Crown Grill....so I dined there 5 nights in a row. The Grill staffing was inadequate to the point the restaurant manager brought my courses to my table. But I don’t need much to be happy so I chalked it up to post Covid startup. Then I cruised on the Caribbean Princess in June. I could not grasp how poor the experience was.....it made MSC look good. I spoke with a senior staff officer at length about what’s going on. The ship was full, staffing was 30% short, substandard food suppliers now under contract. Headquarters are ignoring onboard problems and new crew members are not being trained properly not to mention seasoned crew no longer working like they use to. These were his comments, not my opinions. I observed some crew members killing themselves trying to handle passengers needs....god bless them. I left the ship thinking I’m done with Princess. I’ve watched YouTube videos since then that repeated the same issues. I started to think Carnival Corp might be letting Princess slip from premium to mass market. I hope not. So now I’ve booked the Sky for Dec 3rd and hope things are improving.... I just hope upper management doesn’t fill ships that are not staffed properly....the product suffers as well as the crew. As NCL is moving from Mass market to premium with their new Prima class....will my loyalty switch? I hope not.
  14. Hi Mast 3RN8.... I noticed your signature lists the Celebrity Ascent in Dec 2023.....are you on the maiden voyage?
  15. I had read in the past that NCL wanted to transition from mass market up to premium, I thought that was a stretch. But seeing the YouTube videos of the new Prima, I am very impressed. Cant wait to get on her in February. I expected to see something similar to the Celebrity Edge, but it seems so much more. The complimentary food in the Hudson dinning room looks great, not something that would drive me to the specialty restaurants which I will do for 3 to 5 nights out of habit. NCL obviously got their 850 million dollars worth in a ship holding less than 3500 passengers. Previously Princess was my fav.......Prima and her siblings might make me an NCL regular again.....so I can go from platinum to sapphire. If you look at the tour videos being posted, especially those by cruisin with Pete.....express your thoughts.....I’d like to hear other perspectives since no ship is perfect. Thanks Tom
  16. What’s your guess on where number 3 will be home based? I originally thought the Viva would head for Florida, but instead Puerto Rico was selected. So will it be Florida, California, remain in Europe or maybe head to Australia/Alaska? The more ships means repositioning of away class ships....should be interesting adding to the equation the problems with flying to embarkation ports. Your thoughts? Thanks
  17. I watched the video of the Prima in Southampton...... Shes not a pretty ship, but imposing and should standout wherever she goes. The hull art....taking it down the entire length of the ship is in my opinion over kill. I have to give credit to NCL......they make her unique among new builds.....Celebrity Edge class looks simplistic by comparison. Im anxious to sail on the Prima in February...she should have her act all together by the. My Viva cruise being cancelled Ana led me to book the new maiden voyage......which I’m excited about. I sailed maiden voyages on many ships years ago when a new build was unique, rare and a new design to experience. Now they are routine, but since I haven’t sailed a maiden voyage since the Solstice....I’m excited. As for Leonardo 3....if it’s coming in the 4th qtr 2024....maybe she will head to Miami for her start up......if so I’ll be on it. Thank you NCL for the solo cabins......
  18. Booked this cruise this morning having had the Aug 8th sailing cancelled. I visited a lot of these same ports on a RSVP cruise on the Westerdam years ago, and loved it. So this time different shore excursions. One night precruise hotel.....not far from the Trevi fountain.....throw in some coins and stop and get some gelato😛 Hope to meet lots of people for dinners and cocktails. Tom
  19. Well I’m booked and paid up. God bless my coin jar. Maybe I’ll see you on board😁
  20. Tomberly ........Viva sailing Feb 5, 2024 out of San Juan! As they would say on Hawaiian 5 O......book it Danno. Just put a coin jar on the kitchen counter...empty all change into it every time you come back from the store😎
  21. Well I booked the new inaugural sailing on August 26th. I’m a sucker for a maiden voyage. The price was a little less which was a pleasant surprise. Took the night before hotel package considering how problematic air travel is. plots of luck to everyone else.
  22. A disappointment but not surprising. I’d like to book the August 26th sailing but my gut tells me there will be further delays. Hope everyone handles this cancellation and disappointment ok.
  23. I’m sailing this October and wanted to hear comments on the current onboard shows. I believe I’ve seen Burn the floor on a previous sailing and would love to see it again. In particular there is a dinner show scheduled...I believe it’s called Junnk? Any review thoughts? Thank you.
  24. Well as a ship person....importance in design ...I’m a bow, stack ,stern in that order😉 But today’s design seem to disregard the exterior and concentrate on the interior...guess I’m just old school.
  25. Thank you so much. The shape and size of this modification In my opinion looks so much better than the original funnel. Thanks!
