It is going into a full dry dock in Portland tomorrow. It should be all sparkling after that. If you need tons of casual food venues than non of the non Royal class ships would be what you want. We love the Ruby and do not like the Royal class ships which in my opinion have the noisiest piazzas in the fleet
This has been a rumor for several months. When I was on the Discovery the concierge said they were considering using the old loyalty managers as concierge’s to help but there would not be a lounge area
We brought a steamer one time last year and were called to security to open our suitcase. The steamer was taken and we didn’t get it back till we got off the ship
The main point here is no matter what health coverage you have make sure you have room on your credit card to cover major medical issues especially if you end up hospitalized outside the US
Princess cruise insurance will not cover medical services on ship. Many health plans such as mine will reimburse you after you are home and file a claim but you will be charged on your folio while on board
Some people consider things like lobster or prime rib to be spectacular. For me the best dishes are things like the duck appetizer and some of the seafood dishes
You can call the dine line when you get on board to arrange first night dinner assuming you cruise is at least 6 days. Breakfast is very personal with great attention.
You are more likely to get future cruise offers for free cabins rather than something on the current cruise. We have been offered a meal in Sabatini’s in the past and usually have to tell them not to send the strawberries ( they don’t really hold up)
Be aware you cannot smoke at the casino bar or at only table games. The smoking are of slots is full of people gambling and not there to just hang out and socialize. If you sit at a machine and are not playing someone who wants to use the machine will probably kick you out of that seat
