  1. Or the 2 parents could get plus and share a login with the kids. It just means that only one person per login can be connected at a time
  2. Yeah someone got carried away. Only Alfredo’s of those mentioned has a charge
  3. This happens with a number of companies not just cruise lines. I almost had my AAA membership canceled because my expiration date changed but the number stayed the same. I was on a cruise when I realized I hadn’t seen a charge hit my account and called once we got to a port. Just in time. Anytime you get a new or replacement card it is a good idea to keep an eye on things
  4. I am trying to figure out what you can even use the app for 2 days before sailing. Excursions and Spa appointments are generally closed at this point
  5. That is why I always care a screenshot of my travel summary. If all the credits don’t show then I let my CVP fix it
  6. If you use a CVP they can book these deals for you. It usually takes at least 10 days for the offers to show up in their systems
  7. Fees can vary wildly depending on ports to be visited and the associated port fees that the port charges
  8. Suites perks are much more than elite benefits. You automatically get Reserve dining, free specialty dining embarkation night, you will get double the mini bars, your laundry will get priority over elite. Those are are great benefits it really comes down to location (in the corridor next to the casino and lack of balcony. Your call really
  9. Well when leaving the train station in Vancouver we had to show a passport and were asked questions about how long we had been in Canada Then when the train got to the US border US customs agents came to get declarations and asked more questions
  10. I am not sure about Canadians doing it right. It took us well over 30 minutes to get through customs in Vancouver when arriving or going via train. You have to show up by 5:30 am for a 7:15 train from Vancouver and Portland. My favorite customs was earlier this year in SF from Mexico cruise. Facial recognition just walked right through no need to show passport at all
  11. If you went from US port to Canadian port you would have to go through Canadian customs at some point. On Alaskan cruises from Vancouver you go through US customs in Vancouver. Is this something similar ?
  12. We had booked but changed it for a b2b Boston-Quebec-Boston in 2025. That gives us 2 + days using the ship as a hotel in Quebec
  13. The one issue with the Coral is that there are not any aft suites which we love. That being said we do love the size of the ship and use it for certain itineraries like Panama Canal through the old locks
  14. The issue with these ship is that there really aren’t any other venues for casual dining unless they want to do pop up lunches as Alfredo’s in Sabatini’s which I have seen on the Coral or pop ups in the buffet area
  15. Another stage for Alaskan cruises is that the passengers are “the newly wed and the nearly dead”
  16. On the last 5 cruises there was not any reason for a reservation since you could have shot a cannon through the Gastropub and not hit anyone until the last night of each cruise
  17. Although they know when the passengers need to be back does not mean things can’t happen. I was on a ships excursion once that was well over an hour late due and the ship did wait. I believe that the ship would not have waited if it was an independent excursion
  18. On Grand class ships I have never seen the Gastropub open for lunch at all only dinner and they do not take reservations
  19. The IC also never seems to have salsa to go with their breakfast burritos
  20. Be aware they pack people on that excursion like sardines
  21. Northbound ships generally port in Whittier around 1am and the leave southbound at 8:00 pm to Ancona people coming off of land tours
  22. After 35 years and 60 cruises I have heard it all and almost none of them have to do with service. Yes I have missed ports, had mold in cabins etc and accepted discounts but never lowered my tops since none of them are really faults of crew members
  23. In some ports you may actually be detained. There are good and drug dogs in many ports
  24. This kind of thing can happen on any cruise on any line and is not limited to Alaska or Princess. I flew to England for a Trans Atlantic to visit art museums in La Havre and Bilbao. Never got to those ports Maybe someday I will get to go back. In the meantime I continue to travel to other ports in different parts of the world.
