  1. Cheers 🥂 to your anniversary and birthday! Your children surely are special blessings. Such a thoughtful and generous gift. We’ve been to Caribbean so many times and Bermuda has been on my travel bucket list forever. Reading all of these wonderful suggestions will have me looking up a Bermuda cruise for next year. Wishing you a fabulous cruise vacay!
  2. I usually bring my small travel size soap but I’m curious what the soap is like they put in the bathrooms. Smell nice and lather well? Other cruise lines we’ve been on I haven’t liked.
  3. I’m a Southern girl so that chicken has to be just right. Not a lot of floured coating. If I was served the chicken & waffles you saw on RC I would have headed to the pizza counter lol.
  4. That does bring back childhood memories and I don’t think I’ve had a fried bologna and tomato sandwich since I was a child - long time ago. Mom fixed that for our lunch a lot during the summer. I’ve also heard of Poutine and if I ever get to Canada it’s the 1st thing I’m trying!
  5. Which demographic? Great thing about food and cruises is that there are so many different types, someone can usually find something that will satisfy them or spark an interest to think outside the box of their norm and give something different a try. I love steak. But if that chicken is perfectly prepared, the waffle is warm and there’s warm maple syrup I’ll take it over steak because it’s not something I could normally find. Steak I can get anywhere, any day. Isn’t it great that life is so full of choices no matter the demographic.
  6. That would be a hard pass for me. Definitely not the pork n beans we fix here in the South lol.
  7. I feel for you. I suffered with plantar fasciitis in both heels at the same time for two years. More painful than giving birth. 12 weeks wearing walking boots, multiple injections and finally quitting the job that required hours of standing and they are healed! Morton’s developed after breaking two toes. But I still have feet and can put one foot in front of the other albeit painfully at times so life is good 😊 Thanks for those pointers. I am a notorious over packer with shoes but all of our cruises have been Caribbean and those sandals take up very little space. At least that’s the story I tell myself haha. But for this trip I’m determined to go with wedges for evenings and two pair walking shoes for tours/sightseeing. Haven’t looked at Vans in forever but will check them out. I have a list going. Jsn55 that is a fabulous idea!
  8. It is indeed although I feel like I’ve read about them in Paris possibly. If you’ve never had them you should give them a try! Sweet strawberries dipped in a really good quality chocolate - perfectly delicious!
  9. Celebrating our 35th as well! Cheers 🥂
  10. Thank you HCat and thanks to all who replied. Enjoyed seeing those pics 😊
  11. Our booked SV for May 2023 has more than doubled since we booked it in January 2022. I recall our May 2022 Edge SV booking (ultimately cancelled by us) dropping in price three times after we booked in 2021. I’ve been a bit surprised at how much Celebrity keeps increasing prices.
  12. Wasn’t sure how to title this, but when we booked our cruise with the Celebrity agent we were asked if we would be celebrating anything on our cruise. We told them our anniversary and I see it’s noted on our copy of the booking confirmation. Does Celebrity do anything for those celebrating special events like chocolate covered strawberries and do you have to tell them or they automatically do it?
  13. I would also add to make sure you purchase it within 10-21 days after booking your cruise to be eligible for CFAR (cancel for any reason). After 15 cruises we recently purchased our first travel insurance but it’s been a year after our initial booking. We were able to find what we feel is a good policy with great medical & medical evac coverage as well as trip cancellation and interruption coverage but obviously would have to meet their guidelines for the cancellation & interruption. We purchased this time b/c it’s a Mediterranean cruise and wish we had done our research last year at time of booking.
  14. I keep hearing a lot of good things about European made shoes. The cost really cuts into a budget but they may warrant taking a closer look, especially if I could get a year or two out of them.
  15. Thank you Simon-t! We are pretty excited about it. The one we had booked last May but had to cancel was to my dream spots - Rome, Naples, Santorini & Mykonos. But the more I’ve read about the stops on this itinerary I’m glad it didn’t work out last year. I’m so anxious to see Kotor, May can’t get here fast enough!
  16. Your diligence watching those prices paid off! Congrats on that winning booking and wishing you and your mom a wonderful vacation full of beautiful memories!
  17. I haven’t thought of those colors! Time to go check out those OOFOS in those colors.
  18. Awhfy, those are so cute!! Will definitely be looking up that brand. I love the fact they weigh next to nothing! Means I can fill the suitcase up more 😂. Thanks for the suggestion and wishing you a successful recovery.
  19. Same boat zimmy. Trying to avoid using one of those companies. I found someone who had an independent site, great reviews and is a licensed guide but she was booked for the days we are looking at. She is supposed to be sending me some contacts and if I do get those I’ll be more than happy to pass on. When is your cruise?
  20. We will take our 1st Celebrity cruise in May, ours comes with the Classic package as well and we had the option to upgrade. We found a list online of what’s offered as far as Drinks, Beer, Spirits, etc for each and much of what we drink is on Classic so we decided to save the $ and use it elsewhere on the trip. I have read that if you want a drink that’s on the premium list you would just pay the difference plus gratuities.
  21. Jsn55, same here. I’ve tried on shoes that felt amazing and after a few hours wearing around the house I’m thinking nope, re-boxing and returning. Letting go of all those cute summer sandals was soul crushing lol. Usually I can wear Skechers slip ons with most anything for a couple of hours but I’m not foolish to think they’ll work while pounding the cobble stone pavements in Europe. Do you know the name of the Clark sandal you have? May would work for some of the less intensive wandering around we’ll do.
  22. Thx Spaceman! Appreciate the info and will definitely look into it. RTR!
  23. We’ll be on our first European cruise in May, staying in Rome two days pre and one day post cruise. Stops will be in Naples, Dubrovnik, Corfu, Kotor and Zakynthos. We will be using a credit card which has a 0% transaction fee for most dining and most tours will be pre-purchased. I know everyone is different, but how much have past European travelers found they normally needed in Euros for spending on a daily basis? Also, would it be better to get them at a local bank or get when we arrive in Rome and what is the easiest way to do that in Rome? Thanks in advance for all replies.
  24. I’ve seen a few posts on shoes to wear on a med cruise. I have Morton’s neuroma mostly manageable with injections but am looking for a comfortable pair of walking shoes (probably sneakers) with a wideish toe box and cute. Any suggestions? I’m also wondering what color I should get. Not crazy about the way an all white shoe looks on me and want something that would look cute with most all colors and pair well with capris, sundresses and pants. I’m not asking for a lot, right 😅
  25. So very true and thank you for posting that.
