  1. I love the Odessey. Love Oasis class too. Both different but great. I like to mix them up. Miss the ice show and aqua show but Odessey has other attractions.
  2. This is a big pet peeve of mine. Unless you have sailed on both cruise lines (preferably at least twice), any opinions are worthless on comparisons.
  3. I thought that rate looked to be very good for that long of a TA!
  4. That is a very good price on the Celebrity cruise.
  5. Makes sense. I was on a Celebrity Solstice class ship where it appeared it would hit the bridge. It still had a lot of space to spare but Icon is a much bigger ship.
  6. I use my drinks for lattes in the morning and afternoon. And non-alcoholic drinks by the pool. Sparkling water during dinner. I cruise both Celebrity and Royal. When I am on Celebrity again next month, I will have to plan a bit more. I can get my latte at the Elite breakfast.
  7. Well, on Royal you can use your four free drinks for sodas and bottled water. Even San Pelligrino.
  8. You must pay for soda and bottled water. Unless you have a drink package or Elite perks. And you can only get the free soda and bottled water as a perk during the two hour cocktail hour.
  9. Nor is it available on disembarkation date. The Royal perk is available on both of those days.
  10. Some people say that Celebrity's system is better because you can drink more than four free drinks during the two-hour period. That is true. But if you are interested in drinking more than four alcoholic (or other chargable) drinks in a two-hour period, I suspect you are purchasing the drink package. The free drinks perk is only a perk if you don't buy a drink package.
  11. Heineken Zero. Hence I don't need a drinks package and rely on the four free Diamond drinks on Royal.
  12. I agree that Celebrity's Elite perk rules are absurd. You need to walk back and forth to the nearest bar while you are eating dinner. Royal's Diamond drinks system makes so much more sense--four drinks a day. All day long. Anywhere including the MDR and specialty restaurants.
  13. I have done this pre-Covid on Celebrity. Had to pay extra. Heard it wasn’t allowed after Covid. But it might be back.
  14. Generally not unless there are lot of sea days such as on a Transatlantic.
  15. Wow. I am pretty particular on cabin location on TAs so this would be awful.
  16. I saw a guy do a Neil Diamond show last year on a Viking ship. He was very good.
  17. Ok, how about the Eminem songbook?
  18. Get ready for the Taylor Swift songbook.
  19. I like O very much. But they don’t have many seven day Caribbean cruises when I want to sail. I find Celebrity to be a good option. The kids don’t really bother me because I don’t spend much time around the pools. Food is not as good but it is sufficient. And price is 50 percent less. Life is all about trade offs.
  20. The Mexican restaurant downstairs is very good.
  21. Everyone will say “it makes the room larger.”
  22. Royal has gone to once a day housekeeping, not Celebrity. Maybe not for every ship but definitely on Odessey of the Seas.
  23. And you think ANYONE would want to share the Retreat with you?
