On my TA on Odessey, they gave all Diamond and Diamond plus cruisers one free specialty coffee per day in addition to the 4 or 5 free drinks. Nice benefit.
I miss the free bag of laundry on Celebrity v. $10 off a $35 bag of laundry on Royal but the four free drinks during the day makes up for it since I don't buy the drink package.
As an Elite cruiser on Celebrity, I have been booking the newer Royal ships with real verandas (Oasis class, Odyssey). Not as upscale as Celebrity in some respects but I love the real verandas and the Diamond benefits on Royal are superior since I can get 4 drinks all day rather than during the two hour cocktail hour.
I have used Uber/Lyft many times at Port Everglades but have recently switched to using taxis. The cost is roughly the same. The cabs take credit cards. And it is much faster and easier to find the taxi. The problem with Uber/Lyft is that there are so many people crowded around and so many cars coming through that it will take a fairly long time to get your car.
Is it true that the showers are too small be usable except for petite people? I have read that people of larger size need to go to the locker room in the spa to shower every day.
My bag time was 8:30 am. If I was going to plan on a 9 am flight, I would have taken my bags off. But I am told that even the self disembark passengers on the crossing couldn't get off until 8:30 am or later.
It’s main benefit is that it reduces drag and saves fuel. But it’s been sold as an enhancement. It’s not.
if you don’t use the balcony, it may not be a real negative. I do and for me it is.
I spoke to woman on the Odyssey TA who said her husband tested positive for Covid in Valencia, Spain. He was not removed from the ship but was placed in five day quarantine and allowed to make the crossing.
I know you said “if cost is not an issue” but cost is a big issue. Especially for people who don’t drink so don’t need to pay for the very expensive booze included.
I've never gotten the ripped jeans deal either. Especially as "high fashion."
I'm lucky I am so self-centered that I don't usually notice what other people are wearing in the dining room.
