Thanks for your review. I am booked on Marina next year but had heard that the Wi-Fi was very poor on its recent crossing.
But then someone posted that the Wi-Fi problems had been fixed. Apparently not.
Yes, am very interested to see how it is on sea days. I would be surprised if they were able to upgrade the internet on a turnaround day following a TA.
I am booked on Marina for NEXT YEARS transatlantic. But I am very concerned if the internet doesn't work. I cruise solo and rely on the wifi to keep in touch with people at home.
I wonder how I would be able to learn if it is fixed. I know that wifi on a TA is always somewhat dicey but it sounds like it didn't work for almost the entire cruise. I have an iphone and had no trouble with the internet on Royal last month on a TA.
Yes, it would increase drag. (The magic carpet always seemed like a gimmick to me)
The removal of real verandas more than make up for the drag from the magic carpet.
Yes, that is true. But issuing thousands of paper receipts doesn't seem to be the most "green" solution. Maybe include codes in the system to distinguish between those variables?
The thing is--if you check your account on the TV, you already could see your voucher use with a zero charge for each drink. No need for an extra piece of paper. I think it is a nudge to tip extra.
I was told this but have never verified it. The "infinite verandas" were designed to reduce drag and save fuel. But rather than being honest, Celebrity sold them as a cruise "enhancement"--even justifying a higher cruise fare! Modern marketing at its best.
Yes, definitely. But the difference in ports (two good ports v. four good ports) is significant enough that I would take the Eastbound on Oasis. The age of the ships is not a significant factor in my opinion.
Oasis ports are much more interesting. We have all been to Nassau many times. All of those Spanish ports are very good.
West bound is usually easier to tolerate than east bound (point for Symphony)
I would take Oasis because of the ports. But Symphony if you are really bothered by losing so many hours on the crossing.
I prefer westbound TAs because you have a lot of activity at the beginning and can relax on the second half of the cruise. And you gain hours rather than losing them. And you end up in the USA and don't have the long flight home.
I will sometimes tip baristas at the end of the cruise. But I see no need to tip for every drink. Tips are included in the price. I have found the service to be just as good whether or not I tipped. But everyone is free to handle tipping the way they see fit.
