From the number of posts on this thread it looks like lots of posters have had issues with bad or aggressive driving cruisers using mobility scooters. Should Royal and the other cruise lines just ban them? Hoverboards are on the Prohibited Items list on Royal, why not powered mobility scooters too?

Great information @Fouremco,. OP, if you can't get your F1 fix on your cruise you could fill your time building that LEGO Technic McLaren Formula 1 Race Car shown in the article. Mrs. Dawg would kill me if I ordered one of those but maybe she'll let me buy it for our three year old granddaughter for Christmas. 🤔

Sounds like Royal needs to add a courteous video to their Muster drill at the start of each cruise. Something like this perhaps.🙂

The service would have to be horrifically bad, like Cleveland Browns/New York Jets bad for me to waist my time waiting in line and then having to actually speak to and explain things to Guest Services just to save myself a hundred or a couple of hundred bucks on a week's tips/service fees. OK, if it was the Brown's bad I might do it just on principal!

It's funny, Mrs Dawg does not like fish but she does like smoking the salmon with our pool boy on a regular basis. What a sweetheart 🥰, all that hard work, and she gives all that smoked salmon away to his invalid mother. Technically their tip - it;s called a bonus in executive circles, is already included in your base cruise fare. So, I'd put it; "Do I tip the CEO and CFO of RCI extra, as well? " I don't tip the CEO of RCI extra but I did tip Naftali Holtz, the CFO of RCL extra - great job keeping this leaky ship afloat over the past couple of years! 😉

The scooter problem seems to be getting worse too. Any connection here?🤔 I wonder if it's those temerarious scooter daredevil drivers that are also the chair hogs? I just had to quote you because your observation about cruisers trying to avoid an increase in the daily gratuity rates needed to be highlighted! 👍 It always amazes me what lengths some people will go to to avoid spending an extra few bucks for a 7 day cruise = to less than the cost of one drink, when an increase is announced.

I've been warned by my university ( once or twice 🙂) to not elbow the students crowding the hallways so they kinda broke me of that habit. I do use my 'teacher voice' like @Merion_Mom but I would use a couple more syllables; "LET THEM OFF FIRST F*** FACE!!!!!" And yes, the university is sending me to yet another sensitivity and inclusion workshop in early September. 😉

The sponsoring firms, usually a travel company or credit card company get cheap publicity when their name is mentioned in the articles but that's really about it.

And who supplies the money to RCL and the other cruise lines in order for them to pay those higher wages? We do - the guests. It all comes out of the same pockets. The only difference is the manner in which the cash is extracted. 😉 Technically, these days some of the extra cash needed to pay higher salaries would come from the bondholders since Royal is still bleeding cash, but bondholders only put up with that nonsense for a short period of time!
