  1. Yes it includes Social (mid-level) plan for first two passengers in the room. One device at a time per person, but you can log one out to use another.
  2. After a glitch in its launching (where it was one excursion up to $100), the shore excursion credit is now $100 towards ShoreX. If less than $100, you will have the excess to apply to another tour... but not to anything else (it does not become OBC at any time, even if no tours are available).
  3. I wrote in another thread that we shared the elevator with Koningsdam's Entertainment Manager, and I hounded him about the LCS rumor. He said that the BRANDING of Lincoln Center, Rolling Stone, and BBKings all cost the Line considerable money -- that the TYPES of music were not being discontinued, just the branding.
  4. Yikes, Mary: the only pre- or for that matter post- HAL travel I have booked was getting us to or from port. But gosh, your inquiry has drifted down to the fourth page without an answer so I will "bump" it -- someone must have done this! ETA: maybe say where you are sailing from?
  5. Also the last night is never a Gala night, which harks back to the days of tuxedos and gowns -- which would have to be packed away to be picked up at midnight! If you don't have a late-in-trip seaday, that is not the last night -- look for a port day with an earlier all-aboard time.
  6. Lori, Being just home from our B2B on K'dam, it's still hard to choose! Appetizer-sized Short-Rib Gnocchi (Canaletto) Forest Mushroom Soup (Pinnagrill, with the twisty bread-things and pepper-cream cheese) Josh Rogan Curry (Lido, one of the few things we had with any spice to speak of) over Jasmine Rice ETA: with SBP-covered Cline Old Vine Zinfandel (until they ran out of it!) Coconut and dulce de leche tart (also the Lido; apparently it is a classic Argentine dessert) With a Latte from the Exploration Cafe.
  7. You should be able to find a tour in Ketchikan that includes one of the about three major totem sites (probably not the state park which is longer visit) AND leaves time for the lumberjack show which is very near the docks. Either as part of the tour or on your own. In Juneau I recommend whale watching unless you really have zero interest! In Skagway I would try to fit in a morning train ride to see the route the prospectors took, and generally backwoods Alaska! Our experiences in Skagway were long port days where we had plenty of time after the train to explore town. Can't speak to ziplining! At Victoria, we were fortunate for a long port day enabling a visit to Butchart Gardens. But I see some itineraries with only a late-in-the-day few-hours stop!
  8. Hi Tla! Welcome to Cruise Critic! You will receive answers in favor of booking your own excursions, but in your situation (first cruise, solo, presumably first time in AK) I would suggest ship's tours might take some worries and concerns off your shoulders. We have "done" Alaska three times and used everything from all ships tours to only about a third ships tours... But never had a ship's tour in AK that was a dud! What are your ports?
  9. Have not stayed in either, but I understand they sell fast due to the double balcony! We don't really use our balcony (but love the big window!) so I wouldn't be so interested. If you are a fan of balconies and have a chance at one of these cabins, I would say jump on it! Maybe compare the deck plans for above and below? Why did you suspect extra noise?
  10. We sailed in 3372-4-6-8 partially obstructed OVs on the Lower Promenade and liked them so well we booked them plus 3380 for a second family cruise. Any farther back you are under the galley and that can be noisy all night (and day). Until you get far enough aft to be under dining room which I hear + and - about.
  11. The "set" daily prices are as Nancy pasted above, but longer cruises see increasingly better prices if bought for the full trip. Also the premium package (for the whole trip) is 20% off if purchased pre-sailing, making it quite close to the Surf price (about a dollar a day more). But it must be bought with pre-cruise dollars i.e. credit card not OBC. Note, it is the SAME internet, but with fewer things blocked and a higher data cap in each of the categories. I think Roger has a table on website linked above, or find it in similar threads. For the longer cruise prices. I would post but restricted to my phone post-cruise! @Suncitycruiser1925 HMC is HAL's own island so I feel confident (although I have never been there) to say, No free internet!
  12. Alaska without Anchorage from Vancouver would be my suggestion. Going to Anchorage (even by way of Whittier) means crossing the Bay of Alaska which can be rough! Sailing from Vancouver you sail between Vancouver Island and the mainland which is still and also beautiful. You will have visited some of the ports, but look around, try to find a cruise that calls at additional ports than Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway -- Sitka is great!
  13. Looks like that would be Celebrity for the Equinox?
  14. You want to line up the deck plans and see what is above and below your prospective cabin(s). I think on most Princess ships Baja deck is sandwiched between other cabin decks (good for quiet) - if not, pay more attention to what is over you rather than under, and probably obviously, pay special attention to loud music generating venues either above or below... Avoid being below galleys which are guessed at by being large gray areas near dining room or buffet... They cook all night and day!
  15. "A" is considered more desirable location that is all. They have to draw the line somewhere. The fire doors only close in a fire or maybe some other disaster! No noise potential.
  16. The premium plan is the only one available for pre-purchase, and it is 20% off... Making it just slightly more than Surf level bought on board. But if you have everything you need need with Social plan, you can save some money. Also buying on board will use OBC if you have some, while pre-purchase is paid for at the time. Note that the internet is the same (same speed), only fewer sites and apps are blocked for the higher levels, and a higher data cap per day, I believe.
  17. My dad, a junior and high school science teacher, loved to turn the classroom globe south-pole up and wait for a student to exclaim "the earth is upside down!" Then would come the lesson or lecture.
  18. We got one bag on each leg of a separately booked B2B. It arrived on the afternoon of the first full day (a sea day, in time for first Port day of shopping). Here is a pic as requested.
  19. I've gathered it is varying, seemingly without reason! It used to be easy to remember if not understand - either end of your cruise in Europe = the higher prices. I was only reporting on K'dam and Mexican Riviera thinking it might hold true for similar itineraries!
  20. I was of this opinion about air-dry instruction and was informed by someone who had done a behind the scenes tour that they air dry clothes on request, in a room with circulating air! Returning it dry, about a day later! I haven't had a chance to test it yet...
  21. Remember that it's $7/day per cabin which can make it worthwhile financially looked at in the broad range.
  22. The premium (only) wifi package is 20% off pre-purchase, which makes it slightly more than Surf on board. It is the SAME internet, but with fewer things blocked and a higher data cap.
  23. For AK it should be $7/day levied every day even though you can't turn it laundry the last two days. Or $20 a bag and it is a good big CLOTH bag, very stuff able. Here's the thing: you can probably pre-book for the $7/day price but not the bag-price. I think the possibility of cost going up in 1.5 years is high...
  24. Last week on Koningsdam r/t San Diego Mexican Riviera, bag was $20. Bag was bigger than I even remembered! Washed enough to get through the second leg of our B2B! ETA: Wrote "warm wash, warm NOT HOT dry" and everything is perfect, even socks and a bra that I would drip-dry at home.
