  1. I have a BOGO-related (what does that stand for?!) question. I'm a complete newbie, going on our first cruise this weekend - Freedom of the Seas.

We want to go for a Chops Grille on any one of the nights next week. I see on our Cruise Planner it is €31.50 per person, which is great.

But now I have also seen in the Cruise Planner a 'BOGO' offer, where it is €27.00 per person to dine in two speciality restaurants, providing you dine on the first two nights.

Am I missing something here? Any sort of catch? Or does this actually mean I can have 2 x Chops Grilles for less than the price of 1?!

My understanding of the Specialty dining BOGo for night 1 and 2 is that you don't get to pick the restaurant you are going to. You will get a notice in your cabin of which one. There are some opportunities to change, but limited.

  2. Hello,

Myself and DH will be bringing our 10year old GD on our cruise next March on the AOS. I know children acquire the same levels as their parents, does this rule apply to Grandkids as well?

she's going to be so excited she's been wanting to go since she was 7yrs old, my daughter has finally agreed to let me take her as she is terrified of sailing the Seas. This is for her Christmas and Birthday gift. I'm going to put a picture of the ship in a bix and wrap it and place it under the tree.

I did this last year for my girls...with the picture I printed a nice "ticket" with their names, the date and name of the ship. They were so thrilled.

  3. Be patient. The rep is dealing with a home office in Italy and they tend to move at a different pace as well be in another time zone but in the end it will all work out and there's still plenty of time. They do seem to have disconnects in their computer systems too. You will love the YC experience.

  4. If you are not from the Baltimore/DC area and want to spend a few days before or after the Grandeur cruise in the Baltimore area; please stop in to the Inner Harbor Visitors Center for all info on Baltimore and Maryland in general. I work as a volunteer there and help cruisers all the time how they can spend a day or two enjoying the city. Also, we the visitors center can get you low rates on downtown hotels.

I will be there in September but would've need to make hotel arrangements before I arrive, is there a website with discount info?

  5. I am sailing Empress on Saturday. I learned there are no formal nights at all. While I do enjoy them it's made packing easier in my opinion. Overall the ship reviews have been improving with each sailing and I think it's personal choice on WJ or MDR. We rarely do WJ on any cruise except on boarding day and for early morning coffee but from recent Periscope tour the food choices in WJ on Empress looked good. Can't wait to see for myself!

  6. You can order specialty coffees at breakfast in the MDR. If you are Diamond or above there is no charge for it during breakfast hours.

I imagine that during lunch and dinner you can order specialty coffee as well in the MDR for a fee.

There is a Cafe Royale, outside of Boleros that offers various cafes and lattes for a fee as well.

Thanks!!!! Broke down and purchased new drink package and I think this adds value for us!!!!
