  1. In addition, cabins are released as people receive upgrades from bidding or other mechanisms. Of course, as with the cancellation possibility, you can't count on this and cabins may be released as guarantees.
  2. Dress code on Escape (3-17 Dec 2022) was posted on signs near restaurants and these cards (copy attached) were stacked at the check-in stations at specialty restaurants. I took this card from LaCucina and asked the check-in maître d about the reason for updating the policy and for the cards. He said that people were ignoring the dress code and more people were being turned away to change clothes. In particular folks coming to specialty restaurants in swimsuits, or swimsuits and sheer coverups. I believe the policy update and increased visibility was to give him something to point at/hand out when he felt he had to turn someone away.
  3. Savor, Taste and Main dining rooms have the same dinner menu. Savor and Taste are smaller and feel more like a specialty restaurant - maybe a little faster service. Main dining room feels like traditional cruise ship dining and has entertainment some evenings - more elegant. Good variety of food choices, well-prepared, terrific staff in all venues. Savor/Taste also available for breakfast daily and lunches on sea days. Supper Club - I was on a back2back. First week dinner was salad, steak/veggies, chocolate cake. I believe the steak was a NY strip. Steak was tough, the rest was OK. Second week was Chicken Parmesan, the rest was the same as the steak dinner. Chicken was better than the steak, in my opinion. Menu of the day along with show details are posted near the Supper Club. I believe there is a vegetarian menu available on request. It is also possible to skip the dinner, sit in the back and just enjoy the show. Or try the dinner and consider a trip to the buffet after the show.
  4. As a resident of a Studio cabin, you will have direct access to the Studio Lounge any time, day or night. The Studio complex as a whole is only accessible from a ship main hallway with a Studio cabin Key Card unless the door is propped open (or the outside door is not latched securely). On some ships the Studio Lounge itself requires a Key Card even within the complex, on others it is a non-lockable door or open (such as when entering via stairway from another level of the Studio complex). On some ships, the door closest to the lounge is propped open for the evening Solo gathering so that non-Studio residents are able to attend the gathering, on others, someone monitors the door near the gathering start time, on still others, all Solo gatherings are held in public places. I believe they have stopped propping open that door on some ships for security of Studio residents and of the Lounge amenities. I have noticed couples and family groups coming in to use the coffee machine and take snacks on ships with more relaxed policies or where Studio residents don't shut the door to the hallway completely. Enjoy your cruise!
  5. Hi. I was on this cruise as well. We all have our own tastes for what is entertaining, so a bit more detail: Choir of Man is a show that originated on the West End in London - it's a tribute to Pub life. Most popular show on the ship. Barricade Boys - also from the West End - sort of a boy band of performers from various productions of Les Misérables in West End, Broadway and the film. Great voices and a variety of music including some of the best songs from Les Mis. Malevo is an Argentinian malambo folk dance group - Very intense and fascinating/exhausting to watch. Participated in America's Got Talent a few years back. There were also shows in the Supper Club (all free, some with dinner included) - including Barricade Boys performing a more relaxed set with pop music and banter. Also an excellent solo classical violinist from Ukraine (who joins Choir of Man for their theatre shows). Have fun!
  6. Always check the NCL Ts&Cs online before booking since policies change frequently. https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions#cruisefirst If the link doesn't work, go to NCL website, look under Cruise Deals tab, then select CruiseFirst. At the bottom of the page, there is a link to NCLs Promotions Terms and Conditions document. The Ts&Cs page shows everything - CruiseFirst, Cruise Next, Latitudes etc. At present you cannot combine CruiseNext and Cruise First. I don't believe this has ever been possible. As julig22 posted, you can use two CruiseNext certificates for any cabin type booked six months out booked by 28Nov22. It is likely to revert to balconies only after that date. Tip for everyone, keep a separate record of your CruiseNext/CruiseFirst certificate numbers, amounts, expiration date and which was used for a booking. Your booking document will not show which certificate was used, only that a CN or CF certificate was used. Particularly helpful if you (or NCL) cancels a cruise and restores a certificate. The restored certificate may have a new number and a new expiration date. Helpful if you have multiple certificates and want to confirm that it was restored.
  7. 1. I've had that experience too - sometimes the initial price they show online reflects the $50 credit, sometimes it doesn't. Buggy, but booking it works the same once you select it. 2. I expect that NCL holds back some tours or time slots from pre-cruise booking for the same reason they hold back some dining reservation times - so that people who like to plan can book early and those who prefer to wait until they board still have good options available. I've also observed that NCL deals with tour companies change and some passengers cancel bookings - so tours or time slots are added or removed. If you wait until you board, you risk losing the tour, but may have more options available. For me, if it's a 'must do' tour I book in advance, otherwise I lock in once I'm on board. 3. As a solo traveler I often end up with 'free' excursions on NCL, due to the $50 credit. NCL treats solo travelers well, intentionally, as part of their business model - you didn't find a loophole in the system. I think of these as 'tip only tours', which are common in Europe. 4 & 5. You may find cheaper options or better tour times or more interesting tours on your own. Lots of cruisers connect here on CC and set up private tours. The tour companies that work with NCL are independent and their contracts with NCL likely only allow certain times. The main reasons for touring through NCL are convenience and the confidence that the ship will wait for you if something happens on one of their tours that delays the return to the ship. Enjoy the experience.
  8. The CruiseNext offer no longer appears in a search of the NCL website. This was confirmed by a CruiseNext representative on the Getaway. (It's not you, it's them). Use the link provided by kjquilts to see the current offer. https://www.ncl.com/cruisenext. You can also find the offer detailed in the Terms&Conditions link for CruiseFirst on the website, which is listed under the Cruise Deals menu.
  9. Hi, Current rules: You can use one $250 CruiseNext credit on any cruise 3 days or longer in any cabin type any time. You don't have to book six months in advance. This rule doesn't seem to change. Double-up for non-balconies and/or less than six months is rare but it may come back - they did it late spring/early summer 2022. You never know, just monitor the site and keep an eye on your credit expiration dates. For now, you can use two $250 credits on Prima without having to book six months in advance. Any date, any cabin type. This is new and probably temporary. Might be cost effective compared to a balcony six months out. Plus there's that new ship smell to enjoy. If you are willing to book a balcony six months out, you can use two credits. Balconies only. Six months in advance. Not certain on cancellation rules but I expect the CN credits go back into your account, perhaps with a new expiration date. The rules in effect when you cancel are likely to govern how you can use the credits. Likely to be six months to use two credits and for balconies only, but you never know. I have no experience trying to sell. Good luck!
