Drake,
First time on your island for us. We are looking into what excursions and sights you as a native might recommend if it was a family member to do or see.
Thanks in adavance.

Ok, we stayed at this hotel in May 2011.
It wasn't horrible but for 1 night it worked. We are flying into San Juan on Feb 26 and leaving the next day for our cruise. I have looked at hotel prices and it is a good price. I understand they have made upgrades and we want to see if anyone has stayed here recently. What is your opinion? Please help!!!!
Thanks in advance.

Well we did it. We booked this ship for the 4th time. Couldn't be more excited. We sail February 27th. We just love sailing from San Juan. Your starting point is in the Caribbean. Now how could you go wrong with that.

We just booked Adventure Of The Seas last night. 36 days until we leave for San Juan. 37 days is when we board her. Can't wait.

Awesome..
I have my 3rd cruise on Adventure booked for 9/03. Back to Aruba for me and hubby (his first time there).
My first cruise on her was in january 2002 (booked a couple weeks after 9/11 out of spite) so I missed the maiden voyage by two months.
Sailed her again in 2005 and did the opposite itenerary.
How is the ship overall? And new additions? Restaurants etc..?
We will be booking our 4th cruise on this ship for January 30 2016. We have done both itineraries and in 2011 took her on the TA to Malaga. We will be doing the Barbados trip this time with 3 ports we haven't been to. Can't wait for January to get here.

We did a Transatlantic cruise last October from Barcelona to FLL. Our Son and DIL along with our 14 month old at the time Grandson. We purchased swim diapers and regular diapers before we boarded the ship and it was much cheaper than the diapers that RCCL sold. We also would of had to purchase them before the cruise. They don't sell them on board. Disposable is the way to go. Hope this helps you. Good luck and have a great cruise.

Well I am back lurking on this thread. We are considering booking this beautiful ship in February 2016. If we do this will be our 4th time on her. You can't beat departing out of San Juan. You are starting your vacation in the Caribbean.

We choose Traditional Late also. We like to leisurely get ready and go to DL as said before, it empties out around 5:30 or so.

Adventure of The Seas gets my vote. You can't go wrong starting and ending your vacation in the Caribbean. Plus you get to go to ports you haven't been to.

When I was there in August in talking with the locals it was no big deal to them. Most said what the ocean takes the ocean gives back.
There were still lots of people the on the beach and in the water
Yeah we were there in October 2012 and the taxi driver told us the same thing. every other time we have been there it was May or June. There was still sand. It does come back in later in the year.

We were on Liberty of The Seas last October on a TA from Barcelona . They did a great job with Halloween. They had a costume parade for the passengers that wanted to participate. They also did a haunted house in the nightclub. Had a dance in Studio B. Very well done. I hope you have a great time.

I bought a Tux for our cruises. I enjoy wearing it on formal nights.

Make mine Cracker Jacks! I love the peanuts.
I like the prize in Cracker Jacks. Oh wait it is a service dog vest!!!

We either book an excursion thru the ship or take a taxi on-our-own. :)
LuLu
Same here. Just depends on what we want to do in port.

When did parents stop being parents. It's not my rule it's the ships rule!! Here read it, it is in the Cruise Compass. It is no wonder some teens have no regard for anyone. No discipline and no consequences for not following "YOUR" rules. Let someone else be the bad guy.
There I will now climb down from my soap box. Just my opinion.

Gotta love those savory bites. I will eat about 5 or 6 every dinner.

Thank you for your replies. I will let them know to plan on packing a few more things.

I have family members sailing on Queen Victoria on August 1st. I have read a few posts that you do not have to wear Jackets in the dining room and some you do. Is this a suggestion as it is on other lines or is this a mandatory dress code. They don't mind either way, but it will make a difference in what they will pack.
Thank you form any and all responses.

I just boarded in PR the first week of May of this year. We brought one bottle of wine in our bag. We were screened once inside the terminal, but never again. They did not take my bottle and I actually completely forgot about it until we got to our room and opened the bag. We were able to enjoy it right away!
You didn't beat the system. You are allowed 2 bottles of wine per stateroom. It is the liquor that you are not allowed to bring. Unless they have changed boarding procedures, you will have your bags go through a scanner like the ones at the airport as you are entering the ship.

We have gotten a few chuckles looking at the pictures in the gallery.
I am sure people look at some of ours and had the same amusement. Who cares.

Why in the world would anyone want to do laundry while on vacation. If you are on a land based vacation do you seek out the nearest laundry mat to wash clothes? Your on vacation, sit back relax and enjoy the view. You have probably way over packed. So don't let the little things you can't control upset you. If your obsessed with doing laundry take your dirty stuff with you when in port and seek out a laundry mat.
How can I help make your visit better?

I have another question, is there a cost to get into Mermaid Beach and how far from where The Adventure of The Seas docks is it?
Thanks again!
