You do realize you do not have to dress formally to enjoy the Captains Reception or said Lobster night.

I'll go to Johnny Rocket's at least once. The location near my house was closed recently, so now I need an RC cruise to get my burger and shake fix.
You saying this had me laughing. We actually have a Johnny Rocket's not too far from us and I can honestly say the only time we eat JR is on a ship. That said we like the food they serve. We just think of it as a cruise experience. Now how sad is that!!! LOL

We have been on 13 sailings. 12 of those with RCCL. I can honestly say there isn't much we don't like or should I say love about RCCL. Especially since we are now Diamond. You just have to love those perks.LOL

My DW and I are getting closer to booking this ship for the Sept. 12 2015 sailing. It has been 4 years since we have sailed AOS and we are missing San Juan and our ship. Our last cruise was last October on Liberty in October 2014 Trans Atlantic crossing. I am getting cruise with drawl.

We go to the bars that can make the frozen drink's (which is about all of them) and have put the shaved ice in a class and then add coke. Pretty close to an Icee.

When we were on Oasis, the used Blaze for the Diamond event each night.

Hotels do not provide shuttles in San Juan. They have a great taxi service.

We started on Nordic Empress and moved to Radiance Class, Voyager class and up. We aren't sure if we could go any lower than Voyager class. We just like the added space from that class and up. Although I will add there is no right or wrong cruise. What's to complain about your on vacation and sailing!!!

I'm pretty sure the water on the FlowRider is heated though.
No it's not.

Been one of my hot buttons also. Just can't figure out how people justify dragging the alcohol smugglers over the coals. Then do no criticizing of the ones that drag water and soda on board. Those are also a revenue streams for RCCL.
There I will get off of my soap box now.

We too followed "Sandy" into FLL in October 2012. We were on the Oasis and were the only ship to make Port that day. As said in another post, some had to stay out an extra day.

Just love this hotel. We have been to San Juan 3 times for cruises and have always stayed there. Perfect location and just 2 blocks from the beach and plenty of restaurants. You cant go wrong with the managers cocktail reception and free breakfast.

We were just on Liberty on her TA back from Barcelona during Halloween. There was a Parade down the Promenade and people did wear their costumes during dinner. There was also a party later that evening and there were awards handed out to passengers and my DS, DIL and Grandson won best costumes.

We have crossed the Atlantic 2 times now. Once in May going from San Juan to Malaga and this past October from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale. The weather was perfect both times. But as you know it is called weather. It is unpredictible. Keep an eye on the weather channel the closer your trip gets. Alos temperatures will get warmer the closer you get to Florida. If you book have a great time!!

We are looking at this ship. We have been on Freedom and Liberty (2 times). The Freedom Class is great. If we do book her it will be May 31 3015. Just can't decide on this one or a European cruise later in the year.

Beautiful ship! Great video. We were on her this past October bringing her back from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale. Had a blast there were 13 of us cruising together. Wish I was on her now!!!

We have purchased the cakes after we have boarded for our Birthday Celebrations and I will have to say the chocolate cake is really delicious. You can't go wrong with that one.

For us it is no question Adventure. Have been on her 3 times and just love this ship. You can't beat starting your cruise already in the Caribbean. We have always spent 2 days prior cruising and 1 day after returning. Just can't bear leaving Paradise!!!

Actually they are not acceptable. Yes, some people think that it is OK but the word formal does not mean jeans. Also, teenagers are at the age where it is a good idea to teach them about acceptable dress for different occasions. A nice pair of dress slacks, button down shirt and a tie are not that expensive, and they will last for years.
I encourage you to take this opportunity to teach what one should dress like. Would you go to work wearing jeans, when the dress code is different? Would you go to a job interview, wearing jeans? If the dress code suggest a certain type of look, than it is appropriate to do so.
She also states in her question NON FORMAL NIGHTS. Boy some people get real snarky.

Ok, i'm jealous. We have no cruise booked right now. But we are considering the Radiance from Hawaii to Vancouver in May of this year.
