  1. For dessert I just had the Mocha Mint liqueur in a souvenir glass. Drink was good, glass- not so much.. Earlier in the day, we went to NYDeli for lunch and had an excellent reuben and salad.
  2. .Club Orange last night- I had the Fresh Ocean Cobia. Very tasty. Could have been hotter though.
  3. Hi from aboard the Rotterdam! We boarded yesterday and are sailing for 19 days. Thought I would post a few things each day for those of you who might have a Rotterdam sailing on the horizon and need a "fix"!! We have Club Orange for the cruise and embarkation was painless. The CO dining room was extremely slow last night. We arrived at the dining room about 6 pm and waited 45 minutes. Always slower on embarkation day but that is the longest we have ever waited. Will see what happens tonight! Breakfast this morning was fine. We are in Half Moon Cay today though so pretty quiet. Staying on board. Christmas decorations are in various stages throughout the ship. The new library on deck 2 fwd looks nice, but the selection is quite limited. Maybe it is still getting stocked up.
  4. Susan certainly earned that shirt! And kudos to the maintenance folk who must climb those narrow ladders up the cable car poles..especially the ones that lean over...OMG
  5. Quite an extensive collection of indigenous art in the museum on your Sitka tour! Were you able to get something for your travel wall?
  6. Thank you! Will give that a try next time. We do like the pizzas and the sandwiches that we've tried so far.
  7. Thanks for your cruise summary. What is on the Wall St pizza? I usually get the Central Park one so cannot remember the others! interesting that you had to rush through Panama. DH was in Panama in early Oct and apparently there were road blocks here and there as people protested high prices. Seems to be what the locals do to get attention to a concern! Although I agree that missing Colon isn't a big deal.
  8. Our favourite is the sticky toffee and date pudding with creme anglaise. (MDR/ClubOrange). Also like the apple pie and the palmier cookies at Dutch Cafe.
  9. The non-fiction section on Koningsdam this past June.
  10. We sailed the Koningsdam this past June; Dutch Cafe coffee was available at 7 am. There was always a lineup! Hours will be posted on your daily program. Explorations was also open early.
  11. We really enjoyed our Med cruises, so much to see and experience! What excursions/ tours did you do? Any food tours?
  12. In the booking page for Alaska Shore Excursions, there are photos above each port/location. Some I do recognize, but we haven't done any glacier tours. The photo below shows above both Juneau and College Fjord. Any idea where this is?
  13. Oh boy, that's pretty sad..!
  14. I'm glad to see Rubyfisch's account of the tea on Zuiderdam; it means that some ships get it right. Or at least better. Koningsdam's was not great on our Inside Passage Alaska cruise either. They poured tea once and never came back. The food was very bland, the sandwiches in particular were pretty bad. The only thing that had taste was the little chocolate cupcake. It was very crowded too that day, probably because the weather was cool and rainy, so no one wanted to go outside. That may have contributed to the poor service, but it doesn't excuse the food. The food elsewhere during the cruise was good so not sure what happened with the tea. The event was listed as Afternoon Tea in the daily program, at 3 pm on sea days (including Glacier Bay).
  15. We were on Koningsdam June 24-July 1 and the quartet Major Fourth debuted.
  16. Sounds like you had a fantastic time! Glad you enjoyed it. Are you planning another visit?! You might try posting on your roll call with a shout out to Kathleen and John. Maybe they read it, or somebody else there might have met them too?
  17. Thanks for the review! Which excursions did you do? Were they enjoyable? Hope you feel better soon! 😷
