  1. Thrak -- you are absolutely 100% correct. Based on real experience: Bartender will get into trouble if the the wine is available ONLY BY bottle and he/she tries to ring it up as 5 glasses. In fact the bar cash register will not allow it. We have a few times requested the BAR MANAGER to make an exception -- eg. for CAYMUS which was served in the wine tasting -- and the BAR MANAGER said she can do it in MDR for $27 per glass (so our cost became $27x5 minus $15x5 or $12x5 ($60) instead of $180x0.75 for the bottle). Then the bottle cannot be shared. The BAR MANAGER can make exceptions but will do so very seldom. I think recently on some ships now CAYMUS is officially available @$28 per glass. The reason we prefer 5 glasses per bottle is because we are then sure the bottle is opened in our presence and not leftover from 2 or 3 days.
  2. Just take a screen-shot of your view and print. Each prints as exactly one full-page.
  3. Sailed many-a-days in 2023 on IslandP. Never had any Crab Shack. But Sabatinis had quite a few pop-ups lunches labeled as Alfredos. There were also pub lunches in the Regular MDR -- speculation on Cruise Critic has been Pub Lunches will also become Casual Dininig
  4. My Interpretation Based On Actual Calculation sometime ago: The difference between the add-on for Plus/Premiere over Standard is because the Standard Price was lowered after the "original" Launch Price for Standard. The prices for Plus / Premiere based on the original Standard prices were NOT reduced.
  5. Experience As Of May 2023 at Southampton: Like other Princess B2B, you will get a letter with a "Transit Card". The letter said to just have the Transit Card, Medallion, and Govt. Issued ID. (prefer Passport) when coming back to ship. Remember you will have the SAME single Medallion for both legs. The Medallion gives only the Embarkation Date -- not the End Date. Reality: A "few" of the British Port Officers at the re-entry "Entrance" were a little more cautious! They looked at the date and said the Medallion had expired! We explained. The Officer had a Printed List of all Transit Passengers and he compared our names on the Medallion with that list. Just took extra 10 minutes. Most of the Transit Pax were just allowed in with just the Transit Card and Medallion without the extra verification! Depends who was checking at the re-entry.
  6. Thanks to all who added a lot more info. We booked a 28-day Transatlantic with PLUS at half-price initially. Then I realized that for the two of us every night on all of our cruises the up-charge for wine was around $20 total (not pp) each day because we always ordered the higher end wines. So I asked the Lead Sales Officer whether the extra cost to change from PLUS to PREMIER per person per day would be $10 instead of $20. He said "yes" -- $10 if we had booked the Transatlantic cruise on our then current cruise. So we switched and paid the Xtra!
  7. Wrong Again Sorry you are WAY off-base!! ONLY wallyj has the correct response. I don't like to post on this forum -- but this discussion had too many wrong responses.
  8. Our Medallion experience on board 3 different Princess Ships in the last 12 months was quite different. We loved the new features that the Medallion provides. For us, Princess is looking to the future. Thank you Princess.
  9. Often disembak pax or arriving pax from airport for next day cruise are coming to Crowne Plaza by Taxi. Distance is so short that grabbing a Taxi (if one sees an available Taxi) is not much more than Uber.
  10. If you go to the Roll Call for 2023 Island Princess World Cruise (WC) and look at the Spreadsheet (scroll through and you will find the link to the Spreadsheet -- I do not wish to post the link here) you will see that Angela (ccname Fijigirl) created a special page for SOLO TRAVELLERS. You may request Angela to create a similar page for the WC 2024. Also you will find a lot of info in the 2023 and 2024 WC (Island P) Roll Calls. I encourage you to join the Roll Call for 2024 Island P WC.
  11. Yes -- one has to use a "mobile' device that can download and use the Australian ETA APP. Desktop will not do. I did NOT say that one needs a Princess Medallion. Some have comprehension issues! I use an IPad and it is definitely not "TINY". I also read the most recent novels downloaded from my library to my IPad. Yes -- I am also in the senior category age-wise. My last post on this topic. Thank You.
  12. Hope any of these ANTI-MEDALLION folks do not plan to take a cruise to Australia -- even a port call. To apply for an Australian ETA, one is required to use the Australian App and scan info etc. One does have the option to apply for an Australian VISA instead of ETA, pay $150, and get an approval in 3 to 4 weeks instead of 10 minutes for an ETA. It is time even for the older folks to change attitudes because other cruise lines will soon go to the Medallion route. Sorry if this post offends a lot of posters.
  13. UBER at SFO is only allowed to pick up passengers at the TOP of the Parking Garage across from the Terminals. You will need to use the ELEVATORS from the baggage claim to get to the UBER pick-up location. Therefore, at SFO, I suggest that you first collect your luggage before you use the UBER APP to request UBER or arrange a pick-up time to allow extra time. "Google" SFO Airport to get more information where UBER can pick you up. It is the Pesky SF Taxi Political Lobby that made it cumbersome for UBER at SFO. It is easy to get a cab. But the cab meter keeps running in the traffic jams and also the cab drivers like in almost every major city (including FLL) like to run up the meter. Otherwise a cab would cost the same as UBER. Expect UBER or cab to be about $60 -- SFO to Pier 27.
  14. I seldom post on Cruise Critic General Forums any more. But I do regularly read the posts on Princess Forums. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for all your posts about your unfortunate experiences. All your posts have been polite but forceful. As one who has had "many" cruises with Princess, your posts have been very helpful in making me realize how disrespectful and callous Princess Management can be. I will be eventually writing to Princess Management and perhaps even to the CCL Board Members that a change is required. I hope that some Senior Management from Princess responds publicly on Cruise Critic giving their viewpoints on the serious issues you have raised. Thank You.
  15. I am in San Francisco. Yesterday, I was NOT able to book. Fortunately, today (June 13 2022) I was able to book LHR/Southampton for Aug 31 2022. Thanks to John Bull & Globaliser for all your MANY most helpful posts which I read when I need info about GB. /Sultan
