  1. Adventure of the seas had sprite zero last night and I got a can of it.
  2. We had a good time on enchantment. Staff were wonderful. They had the designated drop off times but also had a slot in the afternoon where they had the toys out and nursery open for you to bring your kids to play with them (no staff). The only place he could go with water was the splash pad but grandeur does not have one.
  3. We have a 4 and a 1 YO so at least one of them will like it! They had a blast in Freedoms splashaway Bay but I know this one is smaller.
  4. 3 and under can go to the nursery on ships that have them. They have reservable hours where you leave your child in their care. They also will have open play hours on some ships when you can take your kids yourself and play with them with their toys and equipment in the nursery room. They had this on Enchantment. I believe Oasis has a separate play area in the middle of the AO area (Allure did at least). We're about to go on Adventure that does not have a nursery or play area but looks like they have some hours set up in the teen area during the day for us to go play with them. Curious about how that goes.
  5. Not to mention all the surface area prone to catching the wind and you get another motion vector. Have had the vibration and "subway" like motion on a lot of ships towards the back. You also get to feel a good bit during docking as others have said. You do get a bit of motion with the swell but those propulsion forces sort of keep it subdued compared to the lifting of the front action. It also depends on sea direction. Going into the waves the bow and bulb cut into the wave to some degree so it's not quite the same as it makes it to the back. In a following sea you will feel the lift in the back.
  6. Sure enough. I'm not sure what switching ships around would do for carbon emissions.
  7. It is to save the whales. https://www.fisheries.noaa.gov/national/endangered-species-conservation/reducing-vessel-strikes-north-atlantic-right-whales
  8. Here's the planner for tomorrow. The other shows are normal headliner and welcome aboard stuff. Also showing Sing 2, Encanto. Top Gun, Venom from what I've seen.
  9. We did this itinerary on the anthem back when she was first up there. We had to miss Bermuda due to a storm so we just carried on. No trying to stop anywhere else or rearrange things. Just a lot of sea days with 3 ports.
  10. Be sure to mention it to the head waiter. They will go over the menus with you and if needed you can special order.
  11. We had connecting interiors on enchantment and with the door shut could only slightly hear our crying baby next door. We slept with it cracked most times (with a monitor also). If you're a light sleeper I can see how it could wake you up so you might need a sound machine. Also in a non connecting interior on brillance I could clearly hear my neighbor coughing.
  12. Exactly right. Those 2 classes with the Promenade are the best combination of things I feel.
  13. Right I was saying it was either class, since they have the same layout.
  14. I've been on all of the classes now and it really depends on what you like to do. Obviously if you like the boardwalk and central park and aqua shows and the extra restaurants then you're not going to find those on anything else. That being said I think the sweet spot is in-between the voyager and freedom class. The centrum ships are nice and all but I like the promenade flow. Quantum and Oasis just seem too big with too many offerings and sort of lose the cruise feel to me due to the pax numbers and distinct "zones".
  15. Do the kids have a dollar limit on drinks? Can they go make some giant expensive concoction at the smoothie bar or coffee shop? I remember folks used to try to go to Starbucks and get the most expensive drink possible when they got their free drink. Also curious about like powerades, energy drinks and the like.
  16. The crew will turn the ship over en transit and probably will get a jump on taking on extra stores tomorrow before they head to Grand Turk. The passenger unloading process takes a few hours at least so. It wouldn't be much different than loading for a week cruise.
  17. Curious if Grand Turk even has the excess housing space for 3k people. Maybe they can keep the hoteling power on and keep folks onboard until evacuation.
  18. We just did a cruise with 2 connecting interiors on Royal and our baby monitor worked. Not so sure that it would work across the hallway though. The thing is have they slept in the same room at all lately? Everyone makes their own noises and what not as they sleep so will they just wake up each other, or more likely your teen waking up the little one? Also what about the waking up in the morning side of things? Is your little one up at the crack of dawn and your teen sleeping in? You could always just do it each way some nights so that the teen can get a break or you guys can get a break. We love using a balcony as our private space with a little one sleeping inside. As some have said sure they can sleep on the couch but you might have to prop them up so they don't fall off since you won't be able to have bumpers. We put up a shower curtain around the couch or pack n play to cordain off the space so we get a bit more privacy too.
  19. Oasis Lagoon, splashaway bay, captain Jill's galleon are all good for swim diapers on CocoCay. Our littlest one just loved sitting in the zero entry pool at like bathtub depth. He just splashed and splashed.
  20. I am T1 so have dealt with this for a good long while. The best you can do is find something a bit similar to what you're eating in an app and go with that. Some portion sizes are a good bit smaller than what they might be in a land based restaurant. As some others have said the best you can do is try to minimize long crazy highs while not getting very low. Stock up the room with lots and lots of snacks. When something is going on you don't have time to wait for room service. Always keep fast acting glucose both with her and yourself. I have had many experiences after walking all over creation that I suddenly find myself <50. That being said account also for the extra activity. Get a glucagon emergency kit and take it with you anywhere off ship you all might go. Also bring flying if your flying and keep it really accessible. Lots and lots of supplies and alternative means of delivering insulin if there is a pump involved (a cracked pump and swimming at CocoCay do not mix). Also put most of this stuff in the carry on. You don't want to risk the one suitcase that they lose is the one with all of it in it. Have not had anything less than a great experience with onboard medical.
  21. Hello everyone! Long time member, first time live threader here. After seeing @Roguepersondo his live threads for a while now, I figured it was time to give it a go. My family of myself, DW, DD (almost 4) and DS (9 months) have booked this cruise to take advantage of the double points promotion and get the whole family to Diamond. Once the Double Points promotion was announced, I tried to come up with a combination to get from where I was just shy of Platinum to Diamond. This will be my third post shutdown cruise with the first being solo on the Brilliance of the Seas on their restart 4 night cruise with rogue. We did a 3 night family test cruise at the end of Feb on the Freedom of the Seas to prove to my wife that we could actually survive on a cruise ship with 2 little kids. We had 2 cruises completed with DD before the shutdown happened so we are somewhat experienced cruise parents. That cruise was a good family trip so DW has given the go ahead to board this week. We are booked in connecting 1V interiors with myself solo in one cabin and the other 3 in the other. This will be our first time in this kind of setup with us having Royal Up'ed to a JS on the Freedom cruise and the other family of 3 cruises in balconies. I have been really trying to pin down how big each room will be and figure out where everyone will go for the best sleep. More to come on that when we figure it out onboard. We also are trying to not go completely crazy with the packing since we will be driving just a half hour to the port but we do want to make sure we make the kids (and ourselves) as comfortable as we can. For testing I booked DD a test at our local CVS and it was a smooth set up through the drive through. I received results already via text. I had done rapid antigen tests for my other cruises with CVS but could not find any appointments around. I have heard that they are dropping this offering. Having found this out, I ordered a 6 pack of tests from eMed and they arrived the next day. Took mine this morning with no issues whatsoever, so time to start packing! I will try to write up when I can. It will be an interesting trip with probably being up at 6 and in the cabin by 8 with the kids. Planning on getting out at least a couple nights of the journey. I will add stuff I feel is useful for parents, as the information is not as widespread especially on these smaller ships for us. We feel there should be enough to keep our young ones entertained so I will definitely write about what we find out. We have MTD as for some reason the family room could not get the 5:30 fixed dining. So long for now! Death_star
