  1. Thanks! Flying out the day before! First time flying out of Billy Bishop too.
  2. We just cancelled our Air Canada flight tonight for a voucher/credit. We were to leave in 4 weeks, and from what is being reported in the news this chaos isn't going away soon.We will use the credit next year with another cruise we have booked. Our flight was from YYZ to EWR, on Air Canada and from monitoring cancelations and delays over the last few weeks, this flight has had many! We ended up booking Porter Airlines from Billy Bishop. Not happy to have another credit for a flight, but its better then missing the cruise!! I cant believe the mess at Pearson.
  3. I called today as well. I was quoted $250 per person to upgrade from classic to premium. That didn’t sound right to me for an upgrade so I will call again tomorrow., but thought I’d ask here. We are classic members on a 12 night cruise. With the new sale , and updated captains club benefits what should the upgrade be? I thought it was closer to $10 a day?
  4. Yes, Broberts is correct. No covid test required if crossing the border by car on either side. ARRIVE CAN is required on the return trip to Canada.
  5. Just an update for new applicants We had our interviews today for our first Nexus cards at the Niagara Falls, US location. Quick and easy, took our picture and fingerprints, and did not even ask us any questions. ( asked if we had any questions!) but explained the program to us and how it looks on the US side, then we spoke with another agent to explain what it looks like on the Canadian side. Very pleasant agents. In and out in about 15/20 mins. I wasn't able to book back to back apts online- one was at 9am the other at 11:30, but we were both allowed in at 9 and were processed together. Not sure why we didn't do this sooner!
  6. Our refundable deposit for our 2024 cruise was only $180 total more then non refundable.Well worth it for us, as I have the option to price adjust if I get a better deal between now and then.
  7. I didn't realize there are two bridges that crossed over to the US at this location. That makes sense then. Thanks so much.
  8. Question about the Niagara Center. I find this very confusing. I've tried calling the number provided but no one answers. Do I cross over the border into the US as google maps tells me to do? This notice says NOT to cross . Anyone have any experience here? Thanks
  9. No apologies! It can be confusing for sure. You would be just fine to take the test the day of, the "one day prior to departure " is the maximum time you are allowed. it would just add some extra stress to your already early morning. It will just be an earlier morning for you. Technically, you could take a test Thursday morning at 12:01 am and it would be valid as a one day test up to 11:59 pm on Friday. That is what we plan to do for our Aug. cruise out of Port Liberty, New York - to take a proctored test the early morning of the day we leave, at home. You can purchased at home proctored tests from SWITCH HEALTH. They were delivered to our home about three days after we ordered them. https://www.switchhealth.ca/en/partners/aeroplan/ These would be the ones you want.
  10. YYZ does do testing in the early am. You have to book a time. If you took your test at the airport on Thursday morning, you would be able to use it for your cruise on Sat. Then you can relax and enjoy your precruise time in San Juan! https://switchhealth.ca/en/travel/book/pearson/antigen?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyaH_u_bz9wIVBq_ICh2RgQDKEAAYASABEgJ5q_D_BwE
  11. We just returned from a cruise out of San Juan. Yes, you need a test to land in San Juan as it is a US territory. Coming home, you will not need a test.
  12. If you do decide to go, I would reiterate to be very careful the excursions you are planning to take on your cruise right now. We are on a 12 day cruise in Aug, and so many on our roll call have booked bus tours in each port. In my opinion, this could be risky right now, even with a mask on, because of contact tracing- one person on that bus becomes ill, or tests positive, it could effect everyone on that tour ( even if it is just having wait on test results) I understand that in normal circumstances these are great tours to take if mobility is an issue or you just want to see the sights. But I would be cautious right now. I hope things look a little different in Aug than they do now.
  13. When interviews opened up in the US, they filled up quickly on the border towns . We kept checking, and more opened up randomly , I'm assuming cancelations. We were able to get the first weekend in June in Niagara. Keep checking, you just might get lucky.
  14. We just booked this cruise as well for March 2024. Great info shared so far!
  15. We just booked Royal Caribbean's Panama cruise for March 2024. Unfortunately, we are limited to travelling March Break only , so this was just the right dates for us. Never been through the canal, and have never been to Costa Rica, also included in this 7 night cruise. Looking forward to the planning! Also interesting that you were quoted Airfare, no options yet for us.
