    A Visit From St Nicholas

(With Apologies to Clement Clarke Moore)

T'was the night before Christmas, when all through the ship,

not a creature was stirring, no drinks left to sip.

The stockings were hung on the balconies with glee

in hopes that St Nicholas would find us at sea.

The cruisers were snuggled all warm in their bunks.

The guys with their sweeties, the girls with their hunks.

And Joyce in her jammies and I in the buff

had just taken bonine as the seas were quite rough.

When somewhere above there resounded a roar

I sprang from my bed and fell flat on the floor.

Away to the slider I stumbled and lurched,

went out to the balcony and searched and searched.

The moon on the waves cast an eerie bright light

so it looked more like noon, instead of midnight.

When what aparition appeared on the seas

but a bright red tender pulled by 8 red jet skis.

And atop the tender, with a whip in his hand,

was a bearded jolly elf so plump and so tanned.

And the sped o'er the wavetops onward they came

he whistled and shouted and called them by name.

On Legend, on Grandeur, on Freedom and Sovereign,

on Empress, on Jewel, on Monarch and Vision.

On up to the Lido, Viking Crown Lounge so tall

now dash away, dash away, dash away all.

As zephyrs, and breezes and hurricanes blew

they arose to the sky on the updrafts they flew.

So up to the sky bridge in search of a flue

went the vessels with Santa and all of his crew.

And above we could hear them, it sounded so cool

the tender and jet skies doing donuts in the pool.

As it grew quiet, we heard a faint sound

and there was St Nicholas as we turned around.

He was dressed in a wet suit with flippers and all

and he was almost as wide as he was tall.

He had a case of wine under each arm

with Pinots and Malbecs to help us stay warm.

His eyes were all bloodshot but oh, how they twinkled.

And his hands they looked frozen, so red and so wrinkled.

He opened his mouth and let go with a yell

"Hey let's open this wine, I'm about cold as hell"

He pulled out a pipe and some green stuff and said

"No, I'll save this for later, I've a long night ahead".

He looked like a sausage packed tight; he was stout

but his belly was pooching as his spanx they gave out.

With a wink of his eye and a twist of his head

he opened and poured us a large glass of red.

After that he was silent and set to his task,

filled our stockings with wine and put some in his flask.

Then he jumped off the balcony but went up not down

and the mist began swirling around and around.

His minions were waiting, to the tender he flew

and they headed to the next ship to give them thier due.

But we heard him exclaim as he sailed out of sight

"Happy Cruising to all and to all a good night".

    Merry Christmas

    and

    Bon Voyage

    Harry

    VERY NICE!

Will be in a Junior Suite on a Summer sailing in 2019. Aside from the increased size of the cabin, are there any other benefits to having a suite over a regular oceanview balcony? Anyone ever been disappointed with the Junior suite? Thanks for any input.

If you are on an Oasis or Quantum class you can have dinner in Coastal Kitchen. Make reservations onboard. Double C and A points. How can u be disappointed with a Junior Suite on any ship - more space!

Francois Chevalier is the HD on Majesty of the Seas. He always has a smile and stops to talk to the guests. The crew seems quite happy, they must like his management style.

I was on Mariner with Francois. agree - so nice! I thought he gets moved around as a replacement/vacation fill in.

  4. We have lots of Hilton points (happily) and are deciding on a  post cruise Saturday night stay between Doubletree Biscayne Bay (construction next door only Monday thru Friday) and the Conrad Miami. Anyone have recent expeirences at either property? Thank you.

Thank you! Are you on board Jewel right now?

We have been on the Jewel three times - 2 differnt port European cruises and most recently during Thanksgiving week. Going again over Valentine’s week. Great crew. Romina, currently in Concierge lounge, was in D lounge during our Thanksgiving cruise. We visited her in D lounge as she was our Concierge on the European cruises in the Concierge lounge.

Someone currently on the Jewel posted on another social media site that the Diamond Lounge is only open for the 3.5 hours in the evening and no 24 hrs access. I really find this hard to believe - is anyone currently on board that can confirm or deny this?

NOT TRUE! 24 hour access (to the espresso machine) and lounge. continental breakfast  items in the morning  - hours vary based on if sea day or port day. evening cocktails and hors ds. if the lounge gets too crowded they open the door to the next door Viking Crown lounge. only time no breakfast is on the last day of cruise. Evening hours for cocktails and hors ds 5-8 or 8:30 but if u have access you can also get the same cocktails as in the D lounge at the bars on board during the D lounge evening hours.

Good to know we have a cruise in Dec & an excursion booked for Bonaire on Dec 15th  hope they finish it

I hope for you the Construction is indeed done. If you have not received notification from the cruise line about a port schedule change you should be okay!

  8. For those of you who have cruises to Bonaire — I have been in correspondence with the Cruise Operations & Product Development Coordinator│ Tourism Corporation Bonaire - The construction on the pier is scheduled for completion Dec. 14, 2018 - so there should be no more port cancellations after that.
