Royal and Southern Caribbean
Steeler Nation At Sea replied to Twenty2020's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Long Caribbean cruises are not yet released. Due on Feb. 12th. 2025-2026_Deployment_Opening_Schedule.pdf -
I think the quality of the food has changed for the worse in the MDR, but, I prefer the more casual experience than dressing every night for a 2 + hour dinner, so I'm mixed on an answer to the question. Everyone says food is subjective, but, I think there is a lot of evidence that they're serving us cheaper food. (Pork shank instead of veal shank is an obvious example, among many others, like the complete absence of veal, lamb or duck in MDR .) I don't tend to be nostalgic for too many things from the good old days. I feel mostly positive about life today, with one exception that I'll not bother to get into here. Like Carly Simon sang, I tend towards "These are the good old days".

Post great deals that you just booked...
Steeler Nation At Sea replied to MrCruze's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Here you go. As you can imagine, it used to have a lot more activity than it does these days. Solo deals hardly exist in the current fare environment on the mainstream lines. Some folks are strictly looking for zero supplement. I have a target pppn I'm looking for, regardless of the supplement. -

48 responses so far 11 with unique pricing, a handful explaining group pricing or where to purchase and the usual CC Bickertons rounding out the total in the majority. Typical. Well, it would've been a nice idea to have a concise deals thread. Too bad the admins can't keep this one on track like they do on the solo deals thread. -
Like others have mentioned, I initially followed a bunch of cc and fb members that posted links to their vlogs, insta and fb. I don't do TikTok or X anymore. So, there are probably a dozen to 15 posters that I'm aware of right now. What the news media seems to pick up and write stories about are TikTok videos from people who aren't on the cruise, but, are going viral by talking about the legitimate vloggers' content. They'll pick up a small detail and talk about it at length and stir the pot by mentioning "drama" onboard and other nonsense , like that which someone pointed out here about exclusive Northern lights viewing. Good grief. There is most definitely a younger set of cruisers who are gaining a following and in return, Royal is now extending some additional hospitality to them in exchange for their reposts of Royal social media and the free exposure for Royal. I don't think anyone was initially treated to the cruise, although I hear rumors that some social media people with established followings will be joining on future legs, at whose expense, I don't know. I'm interested in the World cruise experience, but, slogging through some of this "content" has been a bit dull so far. I've even picked up that one poster who was genuinely herself at first seems to be mimicking a younger poster's delivery style and "open mouthed having the time of my life" facial expressions now. It's all getting a bit bizarre to watch and so it's quite nice to come here for a more traditional "live from" style review and chat. Thanks for providing this @island lady!

Do a mock booking and include your C&A number. The price quoted will include the available balcony discounts, if applicable. Some discount promo codes don't always work online, but, as far as I know, the balcony discount isn't one of those. I'll await correction by the far more experienced if I'm wrong. 😊

Ship: Anthem Destination: TP - Tokyo to Seattle Dates: April 25, 2025 # of Nights: 15 Cabin Type: 2E - Obstructed Balcony (Cove) Total Price (inc. taxes & port charges, exc. gratuities): $2142 SOLO Average Price Per Night (per Person - USD): $143 Other Perks: $100 OBC Higher than my usual target pppn, but, given current price trends and the unique itinerary, and the opportunity to return to to Japan for a land trip during Sakura Season and Osaka World Expo, it still qualifies as a good deal for me. The B2B 12 night leg before this from Singapore was $3026 in 4D balcony or $2159 in 4U interior virtual balcony, both above my target pppn for their category. -
Or, at least through my second paragraph in the post that you quoted. Never mind. I do that frequently enough, too. Skimming, to move on to my next thought. 😄

These cruise prices are insanely high!!
Steeler Nation At Sea replied to P.A.'s topic in Royal Caribbean International
Totally agree and it's not why I cruise either. I've never felt connected to a new place until I spend an evening/overnight so I prefer land trips, but, cruises are so easy to plan. Book it and board is like Set it and forget it. I don't have to do a lot of planning and find cruising to be more about relaxation. @Another_Critic I'm off to find that $5 Wendy's lunch with 2 sandwiches 2 frosties and a fry now.....I don't think I'll be successful where I live. 😉 -
I wonder where the water will slosh to in rough seas from this suspended pool? Most pools just spillover onto surrounding decking. Or, will they empty it everything? I can see it might be more closed than open if that's the case. 🤔 My cabins have been creaky enough in rough seas. I can't imagine the necessary build to maintain the weight of that filled pool, but, then again, many, many luxury resort properties have fabulous rooftop pools these days. Related to your story, my HS has it's 1/2 Olympic sized pool on the 4th floor at the top of the building and it's now 47 years old. I guess there's a failure point somewhere between half Olympic and full! 🤯

Same Ship - Different Ports of Embarkation
Steeler Nation At Sea replied to Racer70's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes, I like the way you think, too, but, sometimes the challenge is airfare. So many don't know about booking open jaw which usually works out much cheaper than the 2 one way prices they get discouraged by. -

Yes, I mentioned that in my next response. It's not what the poster I quoted was suggesting though, I don't think, for someone just newly asking about interporting. -

These are great to add on to a TA, also. Cheaper than European hotel rooms or a week long cruise and enough Med without the exhausting port a day 7 day itineraries.
