  1. Cagneys platinum Live from the Dawn

on 2 -15 17 went to cagh our platinum certificate.

They stapled it to our bill.

The waitress said we get a starter, a entrée max $20, a side, desert,

    Wife had shrimp (3 large)

    small fillet,

    potato

    cappuccino.

    I had salad,

    strip stk $18

    potato,

    apple crisp

    coffee.

we were not charged anything extra. had a bottle of Berringers Pinot. nice wine.

Had our room card out but were not asked for it.

thank you for this update. one side is better than none, but the sides are pretty small. i usually ask for double mashed AND green beans. im a piggy. lol

  2. We had 9500 , just below you and LOVED it !! It was a March cruise , so weather was a bit cold on the island in the morning , the same for the balcony . By cold , I mean chilli...

We were in 13508 last July and the weather was perfect . Never was it too windy for us to use the balcony but that stateroom was sideways , so maybe it did make a difference .

If I had to choose , I would get the most upfront room again , as you view is the captain view and is just amazing . Those balcony are narrow but long .

Since you are almost always in port , you will get to enjoy your balcony for sure.

Hope this help :-) the view from those cabin make up for the wind factor while cruising .

is this one of the 2 bedrooms where the second bedroom has real beds? if so, do you have any feedback or photos??

  3. I'm just curious to know how large ships don't have suites when they are clearly listed: deluxe owner's suite, owner's suite, deluxe spa suite, spa suite.

Also, please do not get confused with the term "The Haven" in thinking that it's a type of room. The Haven is a category of room types with exclusive access to the area. Any Villa, Suite (not mini) and Penthouse are part of The Haven. Not all rooms inclusive to The Haven are within The Haven area, for example the forward/aft facing penthouses.

i guess you have to do a mock booking to understand what im asking.

at the first screen, you get the price categories. across the top (using breakaway as an example) the read left to right Studio-Inside-Oceanview-Balcony-Spa-Minisuite-TheHaven, with prices going up as you move right.

i understand that there are varying suites and rooms, but on the large ships, all suites have Haven Access and benefits, even if they are not in the Haven. the rooms located in the Haven cost more. So what is considered two categories up? If im in a Balcony, i would assume looking at it this way, that two categories allows me to bid on Spa and Minisuite rooms.

on the small ships, at the first screen, the price categories across the top (using the Jewel as an example) read left to right Inside-Oceanview-Balcony-Minisuite-Suite-TheHaven. In this example, i would think that two categories up from Balcony would allow me to bid on Minisuites and Suites, but not TheHaven suites.

  4. ...this means on a large ship, even if you book a balcony, you will never get a chance to bid on haven, since the order is balcony-spa-minisuite-haven.

im wondering if ocean and inside rooms will end up being considerably cheaper since in theory people who are eyeing the haven will be forced to book at least a spa room in order to possibly get a chance to bid haven?

  5. Yikes! Why do they give you an attitude for wanting an inside table? Sounds pretty reasonable to me and something I would want considering all you mentioned. Oh and we will also skip this place if they stop serving the Escargot....my husband's very favorite. I can live with the rest of this new menu but not losing the Escargot.

the attitude i think stems from the fact that no one wants to sit outside, and it screws up their seating plan for the evening. One time they said to us "the outside tables are part of the restaurant and part of the dining experience". Its also odd to me that the design of the larger ships does not provide waterfront dining to LeBistro. In reality, those outdoor tables are just a completely different experience/ambience. its not quiet and romantic out there. at all. teh hosts know it too, but they're stuck dealing with it.

  6. honestly, smoke or no smoke, the "outdoor" seating is the worst at LeBistro. The foot traffic is constant, and heaven forbid there is an event at Headliners - people line up and it gets noisy.

we always request an inside seat. we often get some attitude, but we still ask.

like a PP, the menu is not as good now. no lamb chops, that was the best item. the day they eliminate the escargot is the day i never eat there again. LOL

  7. Hi,

Our favourite part of a cruise is visiting different beaches at port. We have a two children (10& 7 yrs), can some please suggest the best beach clubs at Roatan, Costa Maya and Cozumel?

    Thanks!!

The water park in costa maya! Its called Lost Mayan Kingdom, walking distance from the pier.

  8. This why I never want to upgrade to a suite. We are happy with a balcony or minisuite. I do not want a butler or concierge. I will definitely not want to have to tip people I don't even want. I have seen tips for these two services that exceeded my idea of tipping. I see no plus of having breakfast and lunch in cagneys. I like the other choices. Call me weird but I see no benefit.

you see no benefit, becuase you have never experienced it.

i am with you, the concierge is completely useless. we've had 2 suites, never used them either time. we are people who book everything in advance on our own so we dont need last minute reservations, etc.

teh butler is a wonderful service. he will bring anything to you at anytime. we also enjoyed having room service for breakfast (free in suites) and pizza delivered when we wanted to stay in and watch movies (free pay per view in suites). he also brought us a cheese plate per our request every night to have when we returned from partying/drinking. priority disembark in ports was an excellent perk, and the breakfast and lunch items in cagneys are far superior to the MDRs. also we found there were more seafood items and fresh items (better salads, etc.) offered for these meals.

i recommend trying a suite on an upgrade deal. we would never pay full price unless it was a deal (which we've yet to see really good deals on suites, and we cruise off-peak).

  9. they only release a certain portion of seats in advance. beeline to the box office when you board.

the show is great. we lucked out when we saw it, we bought regular seats (not premium, IMO, there isnt really a bad seat in teh tent, althoguh some are better than others) and it was my fiance's birthday. i spoke to someone at the box office that morning, and inquired as to whehter we could get seats close to the front. he was awesome, and had us come early and he seated us with the haven guests. it was great, because my fiance was able to be part of teh show (a few people get asked to be involved in some way).

  10. we are a male/female couple, different names, but our bed has always been made up as a queen upon entry to the room. im guessing they look at our ages and assume correctly that we are a couple.

it will be interesting to see what assumption is made when i travel with my mom next year. same last name, both female, 32 year age difference. but i know if its one bed, as others said, easily fixed in a matter of minutes.

i woudl think 2 males, same last name, close in age they woudl assume brothers and have the beds already split.

  11. I generally take $500.00, figuring that I will lose it in the slots. Not much into table games. I figure I can afford to spend $100.00 a night for a few hours of entertainment.

If you do win a jackpot, cash out, walk around, go to the bathroom, have a drink or something to eat ( most times there is a nice little buffet set up late in the evening), but do not keep playing. The machines will ultimately win out. I just wish I could follow my own advice!

As has been said, there is not a big learning curve when it comes to the slot machines. Don't worry you'll know if you win big and so will everyone else in the casino. The machines have a big flashing light and a siren to alert everyone in the place. Alas, I don't think I have ever set it off.

how do you make $100 last all night on a slot? I blow $100 in about 10 minutes on slots (hence, why i avoid them).
