Hi @flossie009 - I’m afraid that I can no longer provide you all with any assistance, as last month my time with Regent came to an end. It was my pleasure to help the CC community over these past 15 years, and I wish you all fair winds and following seas!

On Grandeur at the moment and I’m sure they have Lyre’s NA Gin in all bars
Perfect! 😊Thank you for responding!

We are sailing soon in the Caribbean, and one of our traveling companions has recently been prescribed medication that requires staying away from alcohol while on it and staying out of the sun. 😖
Does anyone know if the Grandeur offers nonalcoholic gin, for example?

If you wanted a well designed theatre auditorium then you should have booked Mariner or Navigator 😉
Not a big fan of either ship…
On the newer ships I would try to get seats on deck 4, not in the balcony, in the centre section towards the front👍🏻
I’ll make a note of that 👍🏻

@mrlevin Thank you for that advice!
So good to know! We are not as steady on our feet as we once were. 🫤

@papaflamingo Thank you very much!
Always such great advice from you 😊

Although we’ve sailed Regent multiple times, we’ve not often taken in the nightly show—just too tired etc. However, this time coming up on the Grandeur ,we are taking friends—first time cruisers—who are very interested in attending the nightly shows.
What time do we need to get to the theater? Are sets for four together difficult to find? Best area of the theater to watch the shows?Thank you for your advice. -
Anyway, it's real, for sure, but in our case (we were in 811) just not a big deal at all.
Enjoy the beautiful Grandeur and have a wonderful cruise. 😎
Thanks!I’ll report back on suite 876.

We board on the 27th! Can't wait to read your reports--most especially I think--news from you and others you talk to regarding the cabin-to-cabin noise levels. 🙀 Seems to be about the only "flaw" so far....

Yes. I was insured by GoReady and when I changed the cruise, I called them and "pushed" the dates. There was a bit of an upcharge since we had been covered for months and would continue coverage for another 10 months, but not a big deal, I think about $200 or so to extend the time. Even if we had to lose the premium and re insure the money we were refunded by Regent would have still made it a great deal.
One more thing, at least for us.... since we had passed Final Payment for our cruise, we were considered past final payment for the new cruise too. So we couldn't cancel without loss of full payment. Not an issue for us since we were insured anyway, and seemed fair to me.
Thank you for the added information.

You want to order the Pommes Gaufrettes from the Chartreuse menu. They are a waffle cut potato chip and don’t come out of a bag. Get two orders, they are very good!
Are you able to order these at the Chartreuse bar with a cocktail, or is this just a dining room item?? -
Ooo please tell me more about the "potato chip thing!" A specialty of some sort? Available only in Chartreuse? A whole bag??
I'd like to surprise my DH--a true potato chip lover!
Thanks! -
@papaflamingoThank you! I was hoping for information from someone who took Regent up on one of these offers. I appreciate your insights.
(Yes! Navigator to Mariner MUCH BETTER! Won't sail on Navigator again. Just not a fan.)
If we were not traveling with dear friends, and if this was not their very first (!) cruise, my husband and I would have jumped on one of the options, in particular. But too many "if's" for this time.
I was happy to hear about the open excursions, and you are right about the Specialty Restaurants. We'd not likely get prime time reservations, but most likely get a chance to try them.
May I ask...how did your trip insurance transfer? Hopefully seamlessly??

Suite details in offer say "accommodations indicated for the rate already booked.....subject to remaining availability."
They are offering a monetary bonus on two of the newly offered voyages plus the added days at no cost.
No OBC in the offer
It's tempting but we are going with another couple--waiting to see if they received the offer as well--just would like to know what the excursion situation is this late and the opportunity to book the specialty restaurants. As I said, this was all settled so long ago, so this it throwing us a bit....

Just received a "voluntary opportunity" from Regent to switch our Grandeur voyage Feb/March for 3 later ones in March. (One Splendor, two Grandeur), offering free additional days onboard and a monetary bonus.
From your experience, would we get the same suite category? And what about excursions at this late date? Specialty dining reservations?
For our current cruise, all that was set up many months ago.I'd appreciate hearing your experiences with this?
Thank you!

This morning will be our third attempt to return to Florida ahead of our Grandeur cruise on Friday. We had to postpone for severe flooding in the basement two weeks ago and for a snowstorm last week. Our friends, who will join us on the second leg have had their own challenges!!
Looking forward to better days ahead and boarding the Grandeur. We are so ready! Hoping to do a food intensive live from thread with plenty of pictures.
Best of luck!
Looking forward to your food review! -
Has anyone sailed (or does anyone know) if this year's El Nino weather is affecting the weather in the Caribbean?
It sure is affecting it in South Florida!
We sail the last week of Feb and into March and are wondering about the weather.
Thanks!

I posted a blog in 2018 of our Connoisseur trip. The photos have expired, but the information is 6 years newer than the one listed above.
Connoisseur is definitely worth the extra cost.

Another option if you do not want to got to the room - as you board the ship, ask for the "hand luggage room" - they usually earmark one room, close to the entrance, that is used for dropping off your hand luggage while eating lunch and exploring. They have staff working there - you sign in with your suite number and the number of bags being dropped off and you are provided with a claim check. As soon as the rooms are ready, you need to go back and collect your luggage.
Another great solution I was unaware of! Thank you! -

Just carry on and drop it off in your room, then go to lunch. I would not leave port side with the porters.
Great advice. Thank you.

You won't even need the key, though you'll have it. The doors are open/ajar when you arrive.
We've sailed on Regent several times, but I did not remember that.
Thank you.

When we boarded Grandeur in December, we had our hand luggage with us (we left our carry-ons outside with the porters). Before going to lunch, we stopped by the cabin even though it wasn't officially "ready" (it was, but we weren't cleared to go in); the door was ajar and we just stashed those bags in there and closed the door.
After boarding we will have our room key, so perhaps just a very quick stop to drop it off would be viable option. Thank you for sharing your experience!
