  1. Well they didn't say they got burned by it....they just didn't like it that hot. Ridiculous....the time it took to go get another one that soup would have been just the right temp.
  2. While I can agree with some of what you say because we all see things differently (thus our very divided country USA), that said, "the soup is too hot"??? this is one for the books in my opinion.
  3. We are booked in cabin 14172. We booked it after viewing a TA's review video on YouTube. At the time this catagory had many perks which is one of the reasons we booked it, even though we really needed the extra room and double balcony because we are 3 adults. Anyway, down the line we discovered that they took away just about ALL those perks. There is NO priority anything that I am aware of anymore. That said, they only did this on the Joy....all the other ships in that catabory kept their perks. Bummer for sure, especially since they didn't reduce the price...just took away the perks. There was no promise of them when we booked because we went by a TA's review not NCL's information. I think we get the extra large roomy cabin and balcony and we get a better coffee maker and upgraded soap and shampoo in the bathroom and maybe a dish of snacks once during the cruise. All of which I could live without.
  4. Good to know....that's all I need is one show. I did the Price is Right on Prima and it was OK...hope the Wheel will be free too.
  5. Apparently they are replacing it with "Wheel of Fortune" game which to me does not make up for a lost show that was free. Not so sure this game will be free. We shall see. I don't mind the games but I really would like at least one good show on the ship.
  6. I'm thinking if she has insurance, which she does have, she will get her cost reimbursed....just don't want them moving my son to a solo cabin. He wants his balcony. Thanks for your reply.
  7. Yes she has insurance so I'm guessing her fair would be reimbursed if she cancels. My concern is if they will make my son move to a solo cabin if she cancels. He wants to go regardless but he wants to keep the balcony.
  8. Great review and spot on! We sailed the Prima in May and experienced all that you have. Beautiful ship and cabins and I loved the infinity heated pools and I enjoyed the food. However, yes there were lots of broken things. Like the pool for instance. No pool for most of our crusie....we don't care about a pool but most people do and the pool on the Prima is nothing to write home about....way too small. I feel like the design of the ship was made by people who never cruised before...I also think that perhaps they constructed this ship in a hurry or used low quality materials since there were sooo many things broken. We enjoyed our cruise but I would not do Prima again.
  9. We have a Penthouse suit booked for myself, hubby and my disabled brother on the Joy. My son and his wife have a balcony cabin booked for the same cruise. She has a few health issues that flare up without notice sometimes. My question is...if she has a flare up and cannot go on the cruise can I transfer my brother into my son's cabin to take her place? This way he can share the cost and keep the cabin. I am guessing if I can it would have to be within a certain amount of days before leaving...not sure!
  10. If you booked those cabins ONLY for having a "hot tub" then you'd whine. I don't blame them one bit. Our Prima cruise last May did not have the pool working for most of the cruise......now you tell me how many people expect to have a pool??? Luckily we didn't care but I saw some mightly mad people who said "never again".
  11. I doubt I will ever be able to compare Haven experiences on these ships since they are way above our vacation budget....but we did do a balcony cabin on Prima in May. The ship itself is stunning...very beautiful. The outside spaces are also really lovely for warm weather sailing. I love the infinity pools. Food was exceptional in all venus...........and that's where my good points end. I was not empressed enough with the Prima in the entertainment area or the small inside spaces for so many people to ever go on her again. It was not my cup of tea....too many things I just did not like so I will leave it at that.
  12. I sure hope Joy gets it before our June 2024 cruise. It's going into dry dock so one would think they'd do it then.
  13. Would love to see a "Cirque du soleil" show on the Joy. I love their shows.
  14. Thanks....I think we will stick with Horseshoe Bay. Less complicated.
  15. I've been to Horseshoe Bay years ago and would like to find an equivalent beach with amenitites like chairs. umbrella's and food that might be easy to get to. I heard that Horseshoe Bay can be very crowded so we'd like to avoid that but want a nice beach to spend the day at. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
  16. Thanks for your review....after dry dock a few of those "for kids" area's will be gone and replaced with a Thermal spa, larger Vibe and more cabins. Can't say that will address a need for more sun loungers but there ya go. As for Spice...I thought that was an "adults only" area? Am I wrong. We are on Joy in June and I was hoping we'd have that space to make up for the crowded pool area.
  17. I take my coffee scoop from home....and use one scoop. I think maybe a heaping tablesoon would do. But you can experiment according to how strong or weak you like it.
  18. Thank you for your live review and all the pics. We sailed the Prima in May and the Viva looks like an almost exact copy of it. I think some had hopes they'd improve some of the negatives but they really are beautiful ships.
  19. These work great when bringing your own coffee. I used them https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QDNIKU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  20. I bring a container of my own coffee and I bought these Padfilters that work great with the coffee maker they offer you......you have to ask for it. I am not a fan of the coffee pods they give you in your room. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QDNIKU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  21. Not too mention that the $800 more for an actual suite on the Joy for instance....gets you a bigger cabin and balcony and that's about it. I know because we are booked for the Joy in 2024 in a Suite because it's 3 adults and we needed the room. Disappointed that it no longer has the amendities that it used to have....they gotten away but the price never changed.
  22. Then perhaps NCL should disclose the need to "click" on the bonuses they want or don't want as a note or reminder before purchase.
  23. That said....if they are going to automatically keep it clicked.......then before the person purchases the cruise they should remind them to "unclick" any bonus they do not want included. Many people are unaware of the need to "unclick". I was on my last cruise but became aware of it before I did my final payment.
  24. I guess it's nice to get a thermal spa but the lack of a nice pool and hot tub pool is a deal breaker for me. I'd be going there to enjoy that since I rarely find it peaceful at the regular pools or hot tubs....As for the extra people, no it won't be that big of an issue but I am one who is not fond of the BIG ships so adding the extra people just makes me cringe. ha! There are not many smaller ships left to choose from anymore when going out of NYC, which is our port of choice.
