Is the cost for a PH still worth it ? What has changed?
raudacruise replied to cavaaller's topic in Celebrity Cruises
For me a Millenium class PH is the best suite in the X fleet because of the awesome balcony. I would love to sail in a PH one more time. I’d be solo, but that’s OK. No more front-of-the-ship cabins for me. Had way too much motion in a very pretty Signature Suite on Reflection. -
I take Bonine and wear a Relief Band for any boat ride and flying (and sometimes movies). They usually work well, but “rocking and rolling” for a long time could be overwhelming. Wouldn’t want to feel sick the entire trip. Is drinking alcohol contraindicated while wearing the patch? That would interfere with my entertainment. 🥂🍸🍻 If not, I would consider trying it. No thanks on the weird glasses. And yes, maybe turning 71 has something to do with it. Used to never get seasick.

Just off the Celebrity Ascent Inaugural

Thank you for your review. I too miss having a promenade deck, they are pretty rare these days. Way back when we always strolled the promenade deck after dinner, even in formal wear. I also miss formal wear and no weight limit on luggage.😎 -
Sort of Live from Symphony of the Seas.

Mega ships are not for me but I’ll still be following your adventures with interest. Our first cruise was on little bitty Grandeur of the Seas. Nice pictures. The Crown Loft is pretty, I like the brightness and view from the tall windows. Don’t think I’d like tromping up and down the stairs. -
Well, I know the very best cabin, but it’s not gonna happen for me… Our first Celebrity cruise in 2002 was in a Summit Penthouse suite—a special one-time treat. If I had the choice of any cabin in the entire Celebrity fleet (including the fancy-pants Iconic suite) I’d choose a Millenium class PH because of the fabulous balcony. What can I say, I’m a balcony gal. I know I can place a Move-Up bid, but considering my perfect record of never ever winning a bid, not holding my breath.

I’m in 6134. Almost neighbors! If there’s shade on my balcony that’s where I’ll be, with my Trusty Kindle and an adult beverage.🍸

Anyone in a Sky Suite thinking to go down a level?

Once a bartender at the World Class Bar was playing “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” -
A shady spot on Deck 4 sounds like a fine idea. I remember nice viewing aft, must have been on Mercury. I’ll be on Summit April 2025 following the shade. Wonder if an umbrella would help. But I think the one provided in the cabin is kinda dinky. I’m packing electrolyte packets.

I actually love long cruises with lotsa sea days. (TAs!) And considered adding the next leg or two. Decided that would give my financial guy a frowny face. -

Thanks. Have sailed each direction on Mercury and Infinity. Millie was one of my cancelled cruises. DH had to talk me into the first one. Didn’t see what the big deal was. Now I get it, 😎 -

Hope one of these will work for me. Only interested in full-transit. Emailed my TA but office is closed so waiting with bated breath. I’ll decide tomorrow. Hope 4th time is the charm. I’ve had 3 of my Panama Canal bookings cancelled. -
Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to post your fabulous report and pictures. Couldn’t do it myself. 1) I’m too lazy. 2) My favorite “activity” is reading on my balcony. Not exactly interesting to others. (Have never been to a show.) It’s a shame Sky Suites have once again become the red-headed stepchild of suites. Thanks for pointing out the issues. Looking forward to your next adventure!
