  1. Wow, I surely didn't mean to set everyone off but I sure feel your pain.  I sail on the 12th and need something firm that I can work with.  I expected yesterday there would be a notice that would be definite but I guess I am going to assume it is 2 days and not stress about this any longer.  Thanks for any help you have tried to provide.

Yes the international cafe has breakfast foods such as yogurt donuts and sandwiches.  For the rest of the day there is sandwiches small salads and pastries it is open 24 hrs. They also have quiche and I believe soup as well cookies are behind the line so you have to ask what kind they have

Thank you so much for that.  Will be onboard Mar. 12th and counting the days

  3. So much talk about the mask situation:  to me it means nothing.  I will wear a mask when I feel it necessary or required.  But, the bigger change, at least for me and probably many others, is the time of being tested changing.  So much stress involved in the 2 day testing, especially since the rapid tests are extremely hard to find in my area.  Now, of course, I could do the test that could take 2 to 3 days but what if it doesn't come back in time?  3 days for testing would definitely relieve a lot of stress for many people but there seems to be no discussion on that. Has anyone heard anything more definite?

Things are pretty crowded in the International Cafe, and as I stated you don't have to mask if you're snacking but guess what, there were  people in Crooners who brought their own snacks like nuts since Princess isn't handing them out during the Pandemic and they didn't mask up.The bar itself in Crooners was  packed every night and hardly anyone masked up while at the bar.

One other thing, in the 2 cruises we took in December, I was told by the Passenger Services that there were no cases on the 2 cruises.

BTW, per capita, Florida is about in the middle of the pack in cases and deaths. Before Omicron Florida was doing exceptionally well.

No cases at all on the two cruises sounds almost too good to be true.  But I'll take it coming from another Punta Gorda resident.  LOL

why - especially if I've been double vax and boosted ? - what is the need to continue with any testing for ourselves? - why keep worrying about infecting others - take care of yourself and let others do the same - make decisions - it's not like this is all new now - it's over 2 years going on

    rant

And right there is the problem with this country right now.  No concern for others.

Nowhere on t h e usa government site does it say test c results must be in English

That's why I asked c where the original poster  got that  information

It may be common to get results in the language of the country where the testing is done and also in Englush but it is NoT stated as a USA government requirement

  7. Will be staying near the Pantheon, (right beside it) and will need to get an antigen test before flying home to the US.  Are there many close and reliable places to get that test the first of April?  Do they do testing at the Rome airport for someone leaving on a flight to the US?  Thanks for all your help.

Here in our part of Florida there doesn't seem to be any waiting right now. I went to one of the labs & there was no one waiting with 5 lines open. No appointment necessary.

    I'll check out Walgreen's today.

What is your city?  I am also in SWFL and trying to get things lined up.  Thanks

My son who had covid in Jan 2020 has his answer when asked the standard question “have you been in contact with anyone who has Covid”…he always replies - “I have no idea”.

And when you think about it that is true for all of us.  We could be in line at the grocery store with a person who is asymtomatic but has covid - but how are you suppose to know??

There is not a 100% way to avoid risk.  Just read that CDC description mentioned in post 7.

Just do the best you can!

How can the medical staff in a covid ward possibly answer NO?  Just saying.

I'd say about half the time I get a Princess rep who knows less than I do.  I can always tell when I have an expert - everything goes so much smoother.  Most of the time, I know more than external TA's I encounter - but that makes sense to me as I know a hell of a lot about Princess, but they are selling all kinds of cruises and other things for some of them.  Can't be a whiz at everything.

So Steelers, does that mean you have no idea when Princess might give us back our Personalizer?  LOL LOL

Hey, my Broncos mask and U of Michigan cloth masks garnered several comments when I wore them last year. These days, I’ll only wear KN95s, but I double masked with the Broncos mask on top when I flew.

Excellent.....that is exactly what I did 3 weeks ago when flying to Denver.  Wore my KN95 mask and my beautiful Broncos mask on top.  Worked out great.

Requiring tests for vaccinated people is belt and suspenders.  I have pressed the CDC for the science behind that and they don't have any studies to back it up.

I'm guessing they are testing even vaccinated people since there are a lot of break through cases with people who have already been vaccinated, especially if your efficacy is going down.  Saw an article this morning that 1 out of 4 people testing positive now have been vaccinated

Can't you get the same deal at your Walgreens or CVS?  I have here in Florida

If does not matter at the moment for 2022 cruises what the current battle between the state of Florida and the CDC is.

The CDC Conditional Sail Order is set to expire at the start of this November if not extended. It is this CSO that mandates (or suggests per the courts) the 95% vaccinated rule.

    So what nobody knows:

a)Will the CDC CSO be extended beyond early November? If it is, what changes it might have?

    b) What will Princess and other cruise lines will do once the CSO expires?  Require vaccinations? Require pre-cruise and during cruise testing? Nobody knows, not even Princess.

Even those who are fully vaccinated are right to be concerned about  cruising with an unknown number of unvaccinated passengers. In Texas recently a church camp of about 450 people has resulted so far in around 150 Covid-19 cases, including ten people who had been fully vaccinated. Some of the 150 with Covid-19 had been infected at the camp and some were family members and others who were infected after the camp participants came home.

It will take "herd immunity" to get to a point that vaccinated people can be considered safe among unvaccinated people. And that may mean up to around 90% of fully vaccinated people in the general population. In the USA so far, only about 50% of those eligible for a vaccine are fully vaccinated.

The 70% goal of at least one jab in eligible Americans is not a goal based on science. It is an intermediate goal to be used to encourage vaccination.

Excellent post with many good points and now let me add another concern, which is very unpredictable at this point.  Many cruisers are older and have immunsupressed illnesses so they are not necessarily 95% covered for the original covid virus and now, with the spread of the Delta variant, we are only about 64% covered.  And not everyone that is vaccinated is out mixing and mingling with unvaccinated people.  Some people who are vaccinated have fears of the unknown especially since we are hearing more and more about vaccinated people having breakthru cases and dying.  So, I think it is only fair for those of us who might not be the healthiest specimen to be somewhat cautious about sailing with unvaccinated people.  Just my truthful thoughts.

Copied from an email I just got from Princess, so it looks like we can have the same waitstaff at the same time each night if that's what we want.

    Dine when you want

    • Select dining times for main dining rooms and specialty restaurants.
    • Request the same time each night if you prefer the same waitstaff.

*Previous dining selections (including traditional dining) will be honored.

ANYTIME DINING was supposed to be just that.  Anytime you feel like eating just show up.  How can we possibly make reservations ahead of time when we have no idea of show times, tours and other things that we might not know until 30 mins. ahead of time?  So, does this mean Princess will no longer have anytime dining?

HOW does one make an Ocean account? My wife doesn't have a login and I can't find where in the world to create one for her. I made mine quite some time back and I use the same login info as I use on the regular Princess site. My wife's login doesn't work for the app. We've tried the "forgot password" route from within the app but it sends her a link that then doesn't work - probably because she doesn't seem to have an account.

Again, HOW does one make an account to use with the app?

Surprise.....surprise.  I was worrying about the same issue and though I had the Medallion app down loaded, I could never get it to open up until today.  When I clicked on the first item previously, it continued to say "all hands on tech" but today, it opened right up and guess what?  My husband's name was at the top of the page right beside of mine.  I filled in most of the items except for passport and something else than went back, clicked on his name and filled in all his information.  Never had to use his account (that we couldn't get a new password for anyway).  You might check that out.

    Glad you’re here.

The Personalizer has a link to print your Travel Summary and closer to sail date a link will be added to the Personalizer to print luggage tags. I asked A Princess agent.

Any thing you are unable to complete can be completed at the terminal. There will be agents there to assist.

Thank you so much for your response.  I sure hope Princess follows through
