  1. Enchantment of the seas out of Tampa - has anyone done "The Key" and is it worth it? Do you get into your stateroom before everyone else? We have 2 small kids, 1 and 5. Wondering if it would be good to get it.
  2. The biggest problem with Bayonne is the lack of parking - a HUGE issue. Even with the few ships they have, there's no parking to be had, except really, really far away - which is horrible.
  3. Just did Vision November 4th to 16th. Very happy with every meal in MDR. Only item of note is that they ran out of things, like iced tea, on the last day. I could only surmise that it was because it was a 12 nighter. Would definitely go on Vision again. And would say 12 days of MDR breakfast with same menu was a stretch. Enjoy!
  4. Unscheduled coast guard inspection. And.... they are still inspecting, just checked the fire hoses, etc. In the solarium. But at least we've gotten onboard
  5. Arrived at the port to make our boarding time, and told the port is closed until 11:30. Anyone know what's up?
  6. When we cruised in May on a 5 nighter there was only 1 formal night. It was the first sea day.
  7. Was on her last year, and found the shows enjoyable, especially the live music in R bar area. Will be on her out of Tampa next October for a big family cruise with kids aged 1 to 17. I'm expecting adventure ocean to provide activities. We enjoyed lunch every day in the solarium cafe. Did windjammer maybe once. Not sure about outlets, sorry, but we always bring an extension plug (not cord) and do fine.
  8. What's the earliest you've been notified of a new stateroom when doing the bid up program? I've heard of people notified when boarding, but has anyone been notified 2 weeks prior?
  9. I'm not one to usually post on dining room items - there's so many variables.... but, I will only say this. When cruising, I befriend my head waiter, waiter and assistant waiter. If I know that we are going to be on a late excursion, and rushing to the dining room, I let them know, and ask them, "is it ok to be 20 minutes late?", or even up to 30? I have found that if they know in advance that you are going to be late, they will prep our table with the menus, etc., and we pop in and quickly move along to the order. It also helps if you've looked at the menu ahead of time, and know what you'll have. All of a sudden, we're all back to the normal timing - with a little advance prep. And courtesy. Just saying....
  10. I am always reminded how on the last night of the cruise, everyone wants a "10" in the survey, and the servers in the dining room always tell you how the food isn't their fault - they are only providing the service - so if you don't like the food - don't downgrade them. Well... guess what....if enough people complain on the surveys that the MDR food is not good - they'll change the menus.
  11. Are they still doing the themed menus? I see that all menus have disappeared from the app - for all the cruises I've got booked - and now the "type" just says "global".
  12. Sorry about that, I was reading backwards, but didn't see it. Safe travels!
  13. Can you share Mona's specific email address? I did get an auto reply from the generic rcldining mailbox, and it specifically said you have to have the ship's name, sail date in the subject line, which I did. We always cruise with another couple, and every time, it seems that we're standing at the dining room on embarkation day to get a table of 4 together. Thanks in advance!
  14. Hi, I searched and couldn't see where anyone had posted which nights of a 12 night cruise will be the formal nights? From past cruises, first sea day, and last sea day prior to last night on cruise are my expectations. Which other night in between? Thanks in advance! Happy Sailing!
  15. And this is my biggest issue right now with RC and the APP. NO menus at all listed for a 5 nighter leaving Saturday the 13th. Frustrating. I can see menus for a 12 nighter in November - but nothing for a May cruise.
  16. We went in October of 2019...pre-covid. It was VERY good. Lunch portions were very good too. I'm thinking of trying it again in 2 weeks while on Liberty.
  17. Hi, Just seeing if anyone happens to have pictures of the 5 day cruise on Liberty out of Cape Liberty (Bayonne). Going in a month, and there's nothing in the APP, and I would really like to know what kind of food is being offered on these new "theme" days. Thanks!
  18. Went there in October. It was a waste of money. Only good part was the boat ride out and back. I think 10 years ago it was probably nice, but there was only one kayak, and 2 paddleboards. The food was one chicken leg and rice. No pool, you could see where there used to be nice facilities, but no more.
  19. Going on a 5 nighter out of Cape Liberty in May on Liberty of the Seas..... all checked in, have the APP... and was looking for the "themes" of the dining room. Friends going in a few weeks see their menus in the APP - There are theme nights now - French, Carribean, etc. The APP for our cruise shows nothing. No menus like in the past when you click on the main dining room. What's up?
  20. Our group of 3 did a Lyft from IAH to Galveston. Easy peasy. And less price than cruise line and private service. For the return trip to IAH, we did royal's transfer service. Very smooth.
  21. My renewal took 8 weeks. The online portal wasn't available when I tried to use it mid-November. My son just did his via the online portal, and hoping it is no more than 8 weeks. You can keep checking the status though, and as soon as it updated to "accepted", it didn't take long to receive it.
  22. Thanks in advance! How strict is Cape Liberty for the 2 bottles of wine per stateroom in carry on luggage?
  23. I believe they are 24/7, but bet staffing has been greatly reduced.
