The Nieuw Amsterdam out of Ft. Lauderdale.
-
You have to be connected to the ship's network and then open a browser like Safari or Chrome and type "login.com". That's is how you get to the Navigator page and I think that is what people are mistaking for an app. On the last cruise, I saw everyone before the show on the first night using it. I used it all the time after that.
-
According to the Port Everglades app, you will need to go from Terminal 29 to Terminal 26.
Google maps states:
from Port Everglades Terminal 29, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 to Port Everglades Terminal 26, Access Rd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316
15 minutes walking and .7 miles.

1. Internet access is used for more than work. Most realize that, but one individual does not.
2. Nothing is "FREE". It is included in your fare, with no additional cost.
3. I think it is amazing it is even available at all. I think my cruise experience would be much different if unlimited wi-fi was included in the fare.

We probably would have enjoyed the shower a little better if there wasn't one of those fold up/down bench seats on the side of the wall. Space was valuable enough, but that thing took up a lot of space and I kept trying to stay away from it, as I could easily see myself wacking my knee on it.

We just got off the Knongsdam and we were in a Vista Suite, and I can safely say, that I HATED that bathroom and the toilet positioning was awful. Both my spouse and I could not fit without squeezing in at a weird angle due to the positioning of the shower glass. Also, the shower was very small. It could quite possibly be the worst bathroom we have had on any cruise.

Sail, I'm not great at math but hear goes.
If a train leaves Cleveland heading for Chicago at 4 pm traveling 55 mph and at the same time a train leaves Chicago... Wrong example. Let's try again.
The Eurodam leaves Grand Cayman at 4 pm. The next port is Cozumel, 326 nm's away. In order to arrive in Cozemul by 11 am the next day the ship must maintain a speed of 18-19 knots; which is not a slow speed, to reach the port. I assure you the islands have not moved but maybe will move over the next million years.
I hope this helps cause I have no idea what I did :D
YES, thank you. I figured that part out from another post on this thread. Also, I was quickly reminded why I DON'T start any threads and participate in very few.
-
I wasn't aware of it before I left for Koningsdam. I don't have time to read all of the threads. I am just trying to help out if someone was glancing at the Florida Departure discussion board.
-
I have my answer. The next day is a sea day, but it is how long it takes to arrive from the previous port. Thank you, everyone.

THANKS, but this has NOTHING to do with that app. As a matter of fact, the app is not in use in Port Everglades, and we were told to put our cell phones away.

It could be - I secured a spot at Nachi Cocum's, but maybe its due to the 6 other ships in port that day! But its Christmas week, so I guess we will get o see these Christmas Lights!
-
We have sailed out of Cozumel late at night in Christmas season and enjoyed seeing all the holiday lights and decorations as we sailed out of the port. Were they lit when you sailed out? I I am not implying that is the reason you sailed la te. DId YOU ask on he ship? Better chance to get an answer from those who kno w than from some who may speculate.
I was just curious if more seasoned travelers know the answer. That's all, but thank you!
I will ask the concierge on the ship

People frequently complain HAL doesn't stay long enough in ports....now too long???
HAL can't win...
I am NOT complaining about staying long in port, I was enquiring about the late arrival and why so long in port...is there something I am missing - some evening show, or snorkeling in the dark??
-
For our cruise, which left Port Everglades and returned to Port Everglades with nothing to declare, we were not required to fill out form 6059B. It sped things up a bit. (y)
I am sure this is not in all situations. YMMV.
-
(sorry...meant to type leave).
I don't recall a nightlife in Cozumel. This Christmas we don't leave port until 11:00 pm? Two or three cruises I wanted to book for May had late arrival/departure too. I will ask it on the Cozumel boards, but passengers from other cruise lines usually just guess at the answer...
THANKS!
-
Thanks! Yeah, I figured the first one, but the second has me stumped! I guess its the night we are in Cozumel...

Come out come out...LOL...anyone?

We just got off. We prefer Nieuw Amsterdam, but that is us. Koningsdam is a beautiful ship, with $4.1 million of artwork. For us, it was all about the functionality, starting with the cabin and even the venues did not make sense. She is beautiful but there were more cons than pluses. We might go again, now that we know what to expect. This is our opinion, of course.
-
We just got off Koningsdam and they had the meetings listed in the What/When daily Navigator. They even had a meeting on half moon cay!
-
I just read that it is 1/4 to 1/2 mile to the break in the reef. Its on one post in this board.
-
We vote with our wallets. HAL will get the picture after a while. ;)
-
american just changed our flights to 8:55 a.m. I'm traveling by myself with my 8 year old twins. We've been there twice so we are familiar with the process. Should i definitely insist on a change to a later flight?
yes

You can do the new HOHO ($) by City Sightseeing or use the free trolly up to the forts or just walk around a bit in town. Regardless just enjoy.
Forgot about both of those....THANKS!

Yeah, we were just on the NA in March, so it will be interesting to see if there are any major changes. If there are, I hope they are for the better. IMO, HAL got the Konigsdam all wrong....P.S. Remind me if I forget! LOL
