  1. Many years ago, I would use my OBC for a massage.......my vacation treat.  But I haven't done that in a long time.  Not worth it IMO.  Then a few years ago, I didn't have time to get my nails done pre-cruise, so I booked a nail appointment for the second day.  She did a horrible job, and I was so unhappy.  Never again!  (The hand massage was good however)

  2. My husband lost his iPhone on our last cruise in November.  He didn't miss it for about 30 minutes.  He thinks he left it on a slot machine in the casino.  He went down to Guest Relations, and there it was!  He had to unlock it in front of them to show it was his.  He later told me that also in the "box" was a huge purse!  Now how could anyone loose a huge purse?  LOL

  3. We have sailed in Sky Suites for several years now, and have two booked for 2024.  However I just recently booked a sunset veranda for spring of 2025.  We will eat in a couple of specialty restaurants during that cruise.  Hopefully our selection will be satisfactory.  We have not eaten in the MDR for many, many cruises.......and I am not an Oceanview restaurant person.  But times are changing.

  4. We board next Tuesday, the 24th, for our 12 night southern Japan cruise on the Millennium!  I'll try and post a report when I'm back.  This cruise will be very port intensive.  We have a few ship excursions (using OBC), and others through Tripadvisor and toursbylocals.  Only two sea days.  We are leaving Friday and spend a couple of days in Tokyo.  It will be our first trip to Japan.

  5. When we were on a cruise a few years ago, I recall ordering some escargot (love it), but my husband would not even try.  However he did like the buttery garlic sauce that they "swim" in, and said it would be good to dip bread in.  The next night in Luminae, the maitre d' (yes, maitre d', not the waiter) brought him a small bowl full of the yummy sauce and a lot of crusty bread!  He loved it!

On another cruise, one evening in the Luminae, there was nothing on the menu that we really liked or wanted.  The waiter had come to "know" us and our likes.  So he said he would bring a spicy pasta for my husband and a seafood dish for me.  We didn't even ask ....... but everything was delicious.  We have always been cordial and appreciative towards the waitstaff, never demanding or rude.  It goes a long way......we have always had wonderful experiences in the Luminae......and the main reason we book sky suites.

Two points on getting back late:

    1) Even on a ship's tour X does not guarantee to wait. What X guarantees is that if the ship doesn't wait they will get you to the next port free of charge.

    2) the best private tours (for example we use Toursbylocals) offer exactly the same guarantee.

    Lunch:

we always take out the lunch stop and replace it with coffee/cake breaks. Would never arrange a tour with no breaks.

Yes, we are using ToursbyLocals, and this guide has a 5 star rating.  There are public restrooms at each of our stops.  Not for sure about snacks at each stop but I guess at least one has snacks/drinks.  I will do more research on that.  I might get with my group and see if they want to leave 30 minutes earlier for a time cushion.
