What were your favorites for Dinner at Eden? Looking at the lobster as one option but anything really stood out?
Thank you for taking the time in sharing your cruise with us!
I recall getting the Lobster, but also liking something else on the menu.....so the waiter brought it too! Can't recall what the second entree was...... We loved our meal at Eden!

To answer your previous question.....yes, the Luminae menu changes every night.

We love sailing in The Retreat! We also love eating in the Luminae! While the menus are not large, there is usually something we can eat. If not, you can always choose the standard filet or chicken breast. On our last cruise, we got to know our waiter really well.....and he knew I loved seafood and my husband loved pasta. One night there was not anything on the menu to our liking, so the waiter said he would bring me a sea bass and my DH some spicy spaghetti. It was perfect. We did eat in Eden one night and it was fantastic! Don't miss out on that one! The steakhouse was okay, good, but nothing special since we eat a lot of good steaks in Texas. Le Petite Chef is good for the experience......may not do again however.

Thanks for writing this wonderful review! I would LOVE nothing more than to do a B2B cruise, and even more a B2B2B cruise! I have to settle for 12-15 night cruises, as I can't keep my DH away from the golf course longer than that. 😏. Can't wait to read more of your travels.
Looks like a lot of Eagles fans on here.........but I have to root for the Chiefs......sorry about that!

I'm enjoying reading your review. We were on the Apex last summer and loved every minute! We ate breakfast in the Luminae every morning except one. I love being waited on and eating leisurely. I found the breakfasts to be outstanding. I'm not a fan of the Oceanview Cafe and waiting in line for eggs and then trying to find a seat, but that's just me. Celebrity and the Retreat has really spoiled me.......

When we were on the Apex last summer, there were two nights my hubby and I didn't really like anything on the Luminae menu. We had gotten to know our waiter pretty well (ship was only half full), and he brought us a filet one night, spaghetti for hubby and a sea bass for me another night. These were not on the menu, but he knew what we liked and he did accommodate!

We sailed on the Apex late May/early June. Loved it so much! I'm glad to hear it was one of your favorite cruises.
Looking forward to reading your review.

We are currently looking at the August 2023 cruise from New York to Reykjavik, Iceland due to the itinerary. It would cross off a couple of things from our bucket list as we have been meaning to cruise New England/Canada for awhile as well as Iceland. However, my husband is prone to seasickness and we are wondering how bad the seas are around Greenland and Iceland. He does take Bonine pills, and wears the pressure point wristbands and they do help tremendously. Any help would be appreciated, especially since this will be on a smaller ship, the Insignia.

We too are BIG Celebrity fans, having been on four Celebrity cruises in two years, and one booked for next year. However, I am currently looking at a HAL cruise for next year based on an itinerary. We had been on a couple of HAL cruises some years ago, and I do remember the food being outstanding, and I remember enjoying the size of the ships, etc. I'm having trouble getting the "cabin" I want on the Celebrity site, so I think I will go with HAL this time! And the pricing is so much better!

Can't wait to read about your travels! Have a wonderful cruise.......I have always wanted to do a transatlantic cruise, however my hubby gets a little motion sickness, so it may not be in the cards for us. Please let me know how the waves are.......😉 Thanks.

We found our waiter in the Luminae to be very accommodating to our likes. Several evenings there were not many entrees that we found appealing and our waiter knew I liked seafood and my hubby liked beef. He brought me a delightful sea bass, and my hubby a wonderful filet. One evening the waiter brought my hubby some spicy spaghetti, because he knew he liked that type of pasta. None of these things were on any menu, we just got to know our waiter and he got to know what we liked and disliked. On one occasion, we just said "surprise us". Our last cruise in May/June was only half full, so we had time to visit with the wait staff, and it was very enjoyable.

Love reading your review and seeing your photos. Thanks for sharing. Looks like a great time! We were on the Reflection earlier this year and loved that ship!

We did this same cruise (with exception of one or two ports) in late May early June and had a wonderful time. I enjoyed your pictures and you have a lovely family. The Apex is a great ship indeed. Thanks for sharing.

We have cruised twice this year. No COVID for us. Wore our masks both times. Disembarked Apex June 7th. Were told there were 3% Covid onboard......
So sorry for others that have tested positive.

Plenty of cookies on the Apex last week!

We just got off the Apex on Tuesday and I wanted to share our experience in the Luminae. We had an excellent waiter, Melvin. My husband does not eat seafood/fish. Several evenings both of us were having a little bit of a hard time finding something that appealed to us to order. We didn't want to eat the same 2-3 things all cruise. Melvin made wonderful suggestions: my husband loves pasta, and ordered the children's spaghetti and Melvin had it spiced up for him and it turned out great!! One evening he "found" me a sea bass, which was not on the menu, but he knew I loved fish. He came to know what we liked and what we didn't like, and made wonderful suggestions, and changed our sides to our liking, etc. We tipped him well at the end! It was the best Luminae experience we have ever had! If you get a good waiter, it makes all the difference!

The covid policies are independent of Cruise Care or any other insurance you might buy. Just be sure you understand the most recent updates and are willing to accept that if you do not buy insurance. There can be significant costs besides medical if you are delayed by a positive covid test.Oh yes I understand...we got a really good policy for our next trip, covers it all ....but thanks for the heads up.

Quick question: If you do not take out Celebrity's Cruise Care, are you still covered under their Covid policies? We take out other medical travel insurance.

When we did a Celebrity Mediterranean cruise back in 2017 that ported at Toulon, we took a shuttle bus into town if I remember correctly. I do not recall what it cost, probably a minimal fee. But I do recall the wonderful shops there. We bought a beautiful art piece at a gallery in town.

Yes, there are tables for two. My hubby and I dined here for the first time last May on the Apex. We thought it was quite fun! However it did take a long time to be served, and there was a lot of "down time" just waiting for the next course. We thought we might be late for the show in the theatre, but we made it with 5 minutes to spare..... I personally do not need to eat at LPC each cruise, but I would do it again someday. The food was good, but nothing over the top.
