  1. I've heard of people taking small blow up pools to use on the pool deck, have no idea if this is feasible or practical. Hopefully you'll get to some beaches where he can get into the water.
  2. How soon is your cruise? Is there any way to get him toilet trained by then so he doesn't have to wear a swim diaper?
  3. The complaint I have is that they increased the gratuities one month and shortly thereafter dropped the cabin cleaning from twice to once a day. That also has to be considered an increase in gratuities because you were paying more but getting less.
  4. We have found annual insurance through an outside provider to be cheaper overall.
  5. And now those geese are hanging out in our area of Maine, they certainly didn't clear customs on their way south.
  6. My daughter really enjoys the GF desserts, the staff has gone as far as making her crustless key lime pie and tiramisu as a pudding with out the lady fingers.
  7. The Coast Guard may want to do an initial inspection before letting people off. Immigration also takes a lot longer, unless you are lucky enough to have US officials get on before you dock and do immigration before you actually arrive.
  8. We are generally in our car driving away from the port well before 8:30, and we are in no hurry to rush off, we generally have a high number. You should easily be able to make an 11 am flight. The only time I would think you should book later is if you are in a TA, as things take longer.
  9. It's true, you cannot do the slides. Two people who weigh 450 pounds total do not occupy the same width as one person weighing 330. The tube has size limitations. You would also not be able to do the I Fly. I'm too old to go on some of the biking and snorkeling excursions due to the insurance underwriters risk tolerance. Oh well, I find something else that's fun to do. You will be able to have other fun adventures.
  10. No, you cannot. On day one you may be able to switch to MTD, which is what I did with my 7 year old granddaughter. Go directly to the dining room when you board to speak to the maitre d. SeeAlthough MTD seating didn't start until 6:45 on the ship I was on, they had us come down at 6 to back fill the tables that weren't occupied for the 5:30 seating, we generally got sat by 6:15 I also recommend the WJ at night, much quieter than at other times, they also have cook to order food and a nightly theme.
  11. No, you have to do it onboard, and you pay whatever the BOGO rate is. If you want a specific time and restaurant for your BOGO, you can go ahead and reserve your restaurant and time, when you go in let them know you are actually doing the BOGO, they refund your purchase price as refundable OBC. And as a side note, our Explorer cruise in 90 days have a Giovanni's Table but no menu listed. We are on the Odyssey two weeks later and the Giovanni's Table menu is listed. I also ate there last Fall on the Odyssey and it was not good.
  12. Absolutely forbidden, if discovered it will be confiscated until departure. I've heard of people having success using hair flat irons.
  13. Your argument has no direct causality. Spending more money to support these issues, along with heart disease, diabetes, those with disabilities, mental illness has never given me an asthma attack that requires extra medication and in one instance (cigar in an elevator,) a trip to the ED.
  14. The problem with smoking as opposed to overdrinking or overeating is that the smoking is the only one that impacts others.
  15. It's worth asking the question, several people did this in the TP as we went through French Polynesia
  16. And going from 1 24 hour period free wifi to 2 24 hours, for each person who is D+
  17. I really prefer Coco Cay over many of the ports such as Dominica, Costa Maya or St Maarten. It's clean, well set up and no beggars or scam artists. There can't be more than two ships, so it doesn't get crowded like Cozumel or St Thomas.
  18. Those are the easiest times to get. When you get on board, go immediately to whatever specialty dining venue is open and make your reservations for the week.
  19. It's much less intense than TSA, but I set the machines every time because of knee replacements. They make it easy with their wands. Never had the experience there that I've had other places where they left me feeling I should have at least been offered dinner before the pat down.
  20. Dock fees are set by the country, and this is still a Bahamian island, so yes.
  21. Do your prices include the 18% gratuity? Our quoted prices then incur an 18% service charge at check out. If your includes it, that a good price.
  22. I've not seen an answer to the question "can you wear white shorts before memorial day?"
