I did hear there were some weight requirements (min 100 lbs) on some Escape slides But does anyone know if you Must step on a scale for any of the slides? :o

Thanks for the measurements. I also have been searching for the balcony sizes. Guess I was spoiled when I booked my Breakaway and Getaway trips- Someone had posted that wonderful cabin and balcony spreadsheet which was a great help in determining which cabin to book!

LOL - I was beginning to think Escape sailed with all those H6 cabins empty since we couldn't find many reviews on them.

I will be in 11312 in 4 weeks- I was guessing (wrong) when I booked that the bed would be by the balcony as it was on the away ships. I expect it will also have a smaller balcony than yours.

Not that important as long as I am sailing! Looking forward to reading your review. Have a great time on the Getaway!

Quick question: where did you pick up the car from hertz? I heard you could pick it up close to port But couldn't seem to get the reservation so I just booked it at the airport. Sure Hope they HOLD my reservation. :p

We sailed on the Getaway in the aft haven last May. We had cabin 12304 and the adjoining balcony for our sons. We loved it. The balcony was huge on 12304. Light foot traffic and noise.

Have to agree. My DH and I loved this cabin!!!!! We will take the aft cabins anytime! Whatever you decide you will love it!!

i'll bite. I had a blast as i always do. I take the amount of money that i would have spent on the cruise, that i get for free, and that's my gambling budget. Sometimes i lose it all, sometimes i come home with buckets of money. I have so much fun in the casino, and i'm playing with their money, since i would be cruising anyway. It's a no brainer for me.

MOMCKB, Thanks for your writeup on your cruise. I am anxiously waiting to board to make reservations for the comedy show. Last year, when I sailed the GA I was able to book online- wish we could do the same on escape. OH. Glad you had a good time

JUSTSCHUTTME, thanks for all the information. I look forward to hearing about your experience on the Escape. My DH and I will be sailing her in an H6 Aft penthouse in March and are quite curious how the haven areas compare with the away ships. I heard there are hot tubs on the upper level now and maybe that will sway me on not also buying the vibe passes. (I did last year on the GA But it was much too windy that week and didn't use it much But did love the idea of having a place to go to and relax :))

In all my cruises, I can't remember an American Captain. It's always been an Italian, British, Australian or Spanish Captain at the helm. First time for everything.[emoji631]

Captain Evans (sp?) was captain when I sailed on the BA August, 2014. I also was surprised when I met him that he was an American!

My husband loved those machines (roulette) on the pearl and dawn. He was very disappointed the aways didn't have it!

Is it just me or do some of the decks seem shorter in height than others? Example - deck 11 seems much smaller height wise than deck 9 and 10? Hopefully it is just the angle/view. So looking forward to the reviews before my March trip!

I always work with CAS directly - most times within a week or 2 of returning from my cruise. I never wait for the land based offers or the CAS postcards. If you're ready to book- just go ahead and call or email them. (I usually email them). I Let them know what dates and ship I am looking at and ask (kindly :D) what my offers are. I always receive a prompt reply (never more than a day) and am always pleasantly surprised with the offers.

I will be happy with any information you are able to pass on. But - if possible- I am very curious about the aft PH suites- are they of same design as the aways? do any of the cabins have the 2 doors to the balcony? are the balcony sizes similar to those on aways.

Hi, We were on the same cruise and met you in the Haven waiting room before embarkation and then later at the M&G. During the M&G, your DH raved about the illusionarium show. Made us determined to go see it and were we ever glad!

Great job on the review. It made me feel as if our cruise were yeaterday and not almost a month ago!

A pair of slacks don't really take up much room at all, it's the shoes that are problem. Especially size 12s. I've started putting the shoes in my carryon.

I know exactly where you are coming from- We have to have one bag just for my DH's shoes. Be happy you are a 12 he is a 14!! :D
