We were just on the Getaway and the cost for the behind the scenes tour was $79. We did the free Platinum tour and only went to 3 areas. We were not allowed to take any pictures but some one we knew did the $79 and they were allowed to take pictures. Closed toe shoes MUST be worn
Hi. do you remember when the Platinum tour was offered? I will be on the Getaway next Saturday!

Is there an adults only area that is open without having to buy a pass?
Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Yes on the aft there is an adults only area - on escape it will have a water area (grotto and waterfalls) no pools but it will also have a couple of hot tubs. you could search on Spice h2o for more info. Have fun
-
Following as well - Love your style - I will be heading out next saturday and Can't wait! Thanks for taking the time.
-
not sure what you mean by earn sea days toward next level- are you asking about points toward lattitudes level? if so, then yes.

Subscribed! I will be in 12304 next week!! Enjoying your review and comparisons. I loved the Epic and was on breakaway last summer. As you are commenting somethings were better on Epic (POSH) and others on Breakaway - restaurant locations. Thanks to you both for taking the time. Looking forward to reading more and seeing your pictures.

Go to NCL.COM and then explore your ship. You will find link to specialty restaurants- all/most will have a sample menu. example- NCL Getaway--

and we both picked the same ship as example!!

Next Saturday I will be boarding the Norwegian Getaway. It's going to be my first ever non-RCCL cruise. I'm so excited to try another ship and another line after the last several all being on the Oasis class.
Sure, I'm nervous that I'll be spending too much time comparing the two lines and three ships (Allure and Oasis with the Getaway). But ultimately, I think it will be a fun experience. Just hope the Getaway is big enough.
NEXT WEEK CAN'T COME SOON ENOUGH!
I will be sailing with you. I am sure you will love it!
Come on over to our rollcall. we have a meet and greet set up for Sunday at cagney's at 1:00- all are welcome!

Have a great Time!

Thanks for wishing me a nice and slow cruise week. Leaving the ship is always so sad :( But someone always has to get off for us to get on and vice versa :)
David, Have a Great Time and a Wonderful birthday cruise. Happy Birthday!!:D

I had to post because it does not seem real after waiting 14 months. Its also the longest gap between cruises since I started cruising. I don't know what to think. I suppose it really wont seem real until I begin packing. It will be weird to think this Saturday when the Getaway sails away that I will be boarding when she gets back.
........ AND I will Board when You get back!! Have a Great Time! I will try very hard not to wish your week goes by Too Fast!

I, also, always ask for a bridge tour and have received one for the M&G group except when on the Getaway and Breakaway. I, also, pass the mic around and ask everyone to introduce themself, say where they're from, and why they choose their UserId and to say a little about themselves. It's really fun and helps everyone remember others. I'm not a drinker so I always ask for the person with the closest birthday or anniversary and give the bottle of wine/champagne to them that I received in my cabin. I also play a 'guessing game'. I fill a container with something.....could be jelly beans, Hershey kisses, nuts, etc. and ask everyone to guess how many are in the container. The person closest without going over gets to keep that container as well as a 'little something else'. You've got to engage the people. You can't just plan it and then let everyone be on their own as they will just stay seated and only talk to those who are at their table. Best is when there is very little tables and chairs and people have to 'mingle'.
Harriet
Harriet, thanks for the Great ideas. I am hosting my first M&G and am petrified that no one shows up! It is like a recurring nightmare with me. Then I worry- what do I do if people Do Show up? I am an introvert But I think even I can handle your suggestions! :o
I stay in suites and receive the complimentary sparkling wine which DH and I don't drink. So what a great idea to use it as a prop! Also loved the idea of glass with jelly beans/kisses/etc.
Thanks again! You have made me feel much more comfortable!:D

browniegirl and tyry-- I will definitely let you know- and will post pictures!
-
I'm sorry - were you being serious? I wanted opinions from people who had personal experience with those 2 categories. I didn't mean for people to go out of their way to research anything. :o
I've already made my decision - we changed to an H7 - which is a suite in the forward' date=' but NOT in the Haven. It has more room than an H5, which IS in the Haven. That was my dilemma: to be IN the Haven or NOT in the Haven. In the end, the larger stateroom won! ;)

CONGRATS! I am sure you will love it!!

We got 12304! Yay!
I will be in that cabin at the end of this month!!

We are talking about a walk from one part of the ship to another, people. You will not benefit less by not being in the actual Haven.. If you choose not to walk there, that's your choice, but it never stopped me from using the Haven pool, restaurant, lounge or concierge any less..
Sure, if you like to be three steps away from the pool, great. It really all comes down to preference of room size and location. You won't lose anything from not being in the Haven hallway. All the platinum key cards open the magic door.
Have to agree! We try to stay in the AFT suites- we love the view and serenity. We did stay in Spa suite on BA last Aug _ very nice- loved the spa But Missed my aft view and balcony! When staying in the Aft or the spa suites, The walk never bothered us. We had breakfast ever morning in the haven restaurant and spent every sea day in haven courtyard/pool area. So as many have posted entirely up to YOU and what YOU like and what is important to YOU! I don't believe you can go wrong in whatever decision you make!

WOW! Thanks so much for sharing- Your pictures are beautiful and it looks like you had a great time.
You wrote "As an added bonus on this cruise I was placed on the VIP list which entitled me to some extra special treatment and events. A private Bridge visit, VIP parties in the Ice Bar and The Grammy Experience, front row seating in the Illusionarium, dinner in The Haven (it was excellent), and special treats in the cabin all enhanced my overall experience and made GETAWAY truly one of a kind!"
That is amazing! Your review and pictures are a real teaser - I can't wait for my turn!!
Quick question: do you recall when and where the Latitudes Gathering was?
Thanks again for Sharing!

Thanks so much! great video and Boy it looks like your family really enjoyed being together!!

I was able to call the cruise line directly and get this information. I called to make a booking and asked about square footage on several different cabins and balconies, and had no trouble getting the information.
Thanks - I will ask my PCC.
-
First- Thank you to all the long time posters (and newbies) for all the information I have found on the CC boards. Truly appreciate it!
Now, I have a question which I would bet someone on this board will be able to answer ;)
For those of you who have watched the building of the other NCL ships (Epic and the aways) any idea on when information will come out regarding the cabin and balcony sizes? I am really interested in finding out about the Aft suites Or do we need to wait til someone reviews her?
I am anxiously awaiting more information on these cabins before I book, although I have "almost" booked about 20 times already :D
As usual - thanks for all help
-
ImADaneFan- Thanks so much for the beautiful pictures- I am fairly certain that the GA is a replica of the BA and Now really can't wait til I board and see that balcony for myself!!
-
We loved the cabin. I was not too crazy about our room steward. I loved the shower in the back by the HUGE balcony. The only drawback is being far from the haven but we didn't mind. I have pictures but am not sure how to post them.
THANK YOU! I am getting more excited every day!!
-
interesting. thanks for posting it. I thought NCL would be Labradors! Oh well!

Thanks Don, great video
Have to admit whenever I see a post by you with a review I have to stop and read. Your review of the Epic many years ago, lured me into boarding her the first time and then going back a couple more!
I will be boarding GA on Feb 28th and can't wait!!
Thanks again!
CAS perk question
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted · Edited by cruisingcasinos
We were on the Getaway week of Feb 28th. I did Not have the UDP or UBP package. I was staying in an AFT PH suite so did have Suite perks. Both DH and I are platinum so we had 2 dinners at le bistro- we also received free dinner at Cagney's twice via CAS. I was Golden and made VIP mid way through. One night we were eating at Le Bistro on Latitudes- Platinum and we declined the "free" bottle of wine. We asked for 2 glasses of champagne to be covered and ordered a bottle of Jordan's cab -waiter and Host reminded us the jordan's would not be covered - we said - we don't care- Much to our surprise everything was comped by the casino when we asked for our check even though our reservations were from Latitudes! We did this twice!! So we were treated extremely nice by CAS.
I was also witness to a Casino Host stopping by a neighbor on the slot machines and asking her if they could comp her dinner. She politely declined saying she was already UDP and UBP. Afterwards- I told her she should have asked about a "decent" bottle of wine. I have learned it never hurts to ask. Sometimes you are lucky and sometimes Not. This past trip I was Extremely Lucky- I hit 2 jackpots- one for 2400 and the other for 1500!! Needless to say, It was a GREAT Trip. Between free OBC and CAS, our bill at the end was 20.00 for Deal or No Deal!! :D (Oh BTW- we ate Every night at a Specialty restaurant! We also prepaid our gratuities) So our out of pocket expenses were our gambling and our cash tips.
Of course, we all know, I paid in a different form (at the slots ;)) But no matter where I vacation I would spend that! I am a true Believer with NCL CAS! I will have to see how CAS takes care of us next March when we travel on Escape with UDP and UBP included.
